One thing i enjoyed about the 97 Special Edition was the color grading. It FELT different from the standard version. Same with the audio mix. It was its own entity that could be enjoyed separately.

With that in mind, I thought it would be interesting to release an unedited version of the Bluray with that same Special Edition feel - color corrected to match and with the 97 theatrical DTS-HD synched to match.

Pictures to come. Project nearly complete.

Would you have any desire to give ESB and ROTJ similar treatment? The 1997 color grading will always be what feels right to me. I've been so happy with Harmy's color grading that I was able to use for 90% of my "Custom ANH SE" because it thoroughly ditches the Lowry grading.

I'll take a look at it, definitely. As soon as my video finishes rendering and i can check full audio sync I'll get screenshots up.

Totally agree about the '97 colour correction. I'd actually love this grading on Harmy's despecialized 2.5.

The correction looks great, what programs are you using?

Just working with premiere's internal filters.

While I'm working on the final CC, I've released the Blu-Synched 97 Theatrical as a seperate DTSpleen file.

Wait, Are you sure that the top isn't the Blu-ray? because the middle looks more like the bottom than the top.

Basically I am seeing:

Top: Greenish Blue

Middle: Yellowish Grey/Tan

Bottom: Purplish/Redish Grey

What references are you using for the 97 color? I ask because Team Blu's 97 project, while excellent in terms of detail, is quite dark and green in places. If that's the look you're going for, great, but it may be useful to brighten up the picture a bit.
