Well if Luke is supposed to be exactly the same 30 years later, I guess the Falcon is supposed to be exactly the same 10 years later.
Lol.

I’m sorry Han, I don’t love you.

I guess I’ll always be Solo.
We see a circular wipe to a star field and the familiar blue end credits begin. THE END.

Fixed.
I’m predicting right now this will be the worst-reviewed Star Wars film ever (not counting The Clone Wars). I’m expecting high 40’s-low 50’s RT score, which would put it below even The Phantom Menace.
The production has by all accounts been an absolute hellish mess, they had to hire the kid an acting coach because his performance was so bad, and this trailer has done nothing to convince me they managed to salvage this movie. It’s very rare they can do that when a movie has been mangled as much as this one has been, and there are only a handful of directors who could pull it off. Ron Howard is not one of them.
Would like to be proven wrong, but I remain skeptical.
If Alden was bad, they would have fired him.
There’s no doubt that it was a troubled production, but it was a very specific sort of situation. I don’t know how you can call it a “hellish mess,” unless I’m missing something this wasn’t some sort of Hearts of Darkness kinda thing.
Apologies if this is somewhere in the previous pages; It looks like we’ll be seeing the Falcon before Han made a lot of special modifications himself.

It’s “extreme hyperbole.”

Interesting little interview with the star. Also some intriguing teases, later today there’ll be a piece about Ford’s impact on the film, and on Friday it sounds like they may talk about the firings/hiring.
Also, I guess Ron Howard says the movie is like a western and noir film, which I guess explains what people mean by the gray look. I haven’t seen too many images, all I know is that Bradford Young is a great DP, so I trust at least that aspect of the film will be good.
It has been confirmed as the funniest Star Wars movie to date, apparently.

Oh god I can’t wait for the complaining and the fanedits cutting it all out.

Sorry I can’t post the actual article here - the school wifi has most websites blocked 😛

Good grief. The humor has begun to get a bit overboard in the new films for me. Rogue One had a nice balance of humor similar to the OT which only has a few subtle jokes. And I’m quite sure a western noir isn’t meant to be the funniest movie in a franchise that has the prequels and TFA+TLJ.
I actually liked the guy a lot in Hail, Caesar! but here it’s just not convincing.

The prequels aren’t funny. And this should be the funniest Star Wars movie. I think it’ll be pretty pulpy, that’s what’ll tie these genres together, just playing around with these genres in a fun, retro-styled way. It’s all kinda perfect for the character.

The prequels aren’t funny.
Fact!
And this should be the funniest Star Wars movie.
Probably!

I hope so.

You do realize Collipso’s statement came with zero sourcing, right? And even if there is a source, it doesn’t matter until we actually see it. And even then, it only matters when you see it.
Also what the others said.

Edit: I’m light years behind Dom, sorry guys.
Apologies if this is somewhere in the previous pages; It looks like we’ll be seeing the Falcon before Han made a lot of special modifications himself.
The image has been out for a bit (and you can see the ship clearly in the trailer), but I don’t think we’ve discussed it much.
I don’t mind the Falcon being new and looking a bit different than what we’re used to, but I’m not crazy about the design choices we’ve seen so far. I agree that the interior looks a bit TOO antiseptic but I can live with it.
What really bugs me is the enclosed front mandibles. The Falcon is supposed to be a freighter, but the shape/design really doesn’t make any sense for loading cargo… and I always remember the front appendages being referred to as “docking mandibles” back in the 90’s. Which made sense to me. I always envisioned it doing exactly what the concept art below (from TFA I believe?) shows. THAT’s how it hauls cargo (in my mind). So closing that gap up is the one redesign that I’m really not a fan of at all. I’ll reserve final judgement until I actually see the film, but right now I really don’t like this particular design choice.
As for the film itself, I’m not yet convinced this actor will be able to pull off the character of Han for me, but I’ll give him a chance. Everything else in the trailer looks pretty awesome.
Hey, that EW cover image actually looks pretty snazzy.
But does Chewbacca seem a little short…?
For a stormtrooper?

It’s just a magazine cover. I think they were more concerned about fitting them both within the frame than acurately representing their heights in the movie.
(However, just FYI, Peter Mayhew is 2.18 meters tall and Joonas Suotamo is 2.11 m.)

Are they “closed”? I thought there was a cargo container in between making them look solid.
JEDIT- yeah, lookin’ at that pic, it looks like they’re closed together. Weird.
