The Force Levels Over 9000 Awaken or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Starkiller Base
Are we questioning the logic of the Star Wars universe?
Always could add a poster like that in a scene. It could be an easter egg! (/sarcasm)
Rey has that poster in her AT-AT house, and then when she is captured she is horrified to see one just like it on the wall of the interrogation chamber alongside a ‘Hang in there’ cat poster.

ALLOL
Hal you’ll implement these ideas right?
“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”
No, but I hope Frink eventually does.
Serious suggestion, can we call this edit something other than A Gentle Restructure when V2 is released? Perhaps something like The Force Awakens: The Starkiller Edit.

The v1 was also called “Lone Star edition” (which is a great tagline). I would love a real alternate title in order to keep official titles for official versions, and using UE books titles (or else) - as Hal did with his PT edits - to fanedits. TCW title Children of the Force would totally make sense with the movie thematics.
The title of the film itself will remain ‘The Force Awakens,’ but I’m open to a different tagline as V2 has gotten more ambitious. I’m partial to “Lone Star Edition,” though I am aware it’s tacky.
One Shot Base … There can only be one … Single Fire Line … Mission Semi-Impossible … Resistance 1 - 1 …
/end bad ideas
“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”
Like NeverarGreat suggested, I think “The Starkiller Edit” is clean and concise. It makes it clear that the changes in this version revolve around the use of Starkiller Base in the film.
I definitely think Starkiller Base was one of the biggest gripes people had with the movie, so just seeing that subtitle would immediately interest people.
I agree; sounds good. I apologize for my terse interactions in this thread lately. I’ve been working on something LOTR-related in conjunction with Kerr that I’m pretty excited about, with TFA:R V2 being in the “waiting on” phase.
Kerr?!?! I thought maybe he(?) had stopped making edits altogether! I’ve been waiting on a sequel to Arkenstone Edition for years. This is very good news.

My wife and I love his LOTR edits, but his EP3:ROTS edit seemed to have been sourced from PAL so I couldn’t watch it as the flow and pitch was weird.

I hope it’s a project like this one.

It’s not a Hobbit edit, though I would have loved to see Kerr tackle it. (A 3-in-1, I mean.) I’m very happy with the Maple Films version, as things stand.
Kerr will unveil things as he sees fit, but it’s a LOTR project, not recreating something from the past but completing the project, though both of us have evolved our views substantially in the past decade. MY role has been merely one of consultation, and my actual ‘editing’ work has been mostly tweaking it so as to simultaneously publish a companion set.
Enough said about this for the time being. I am screening it for friends in my home, so unless you live in Kansas City you’ll find out in due time. Meanwhile the momentum increases toward The Last Jedi, with V2 of TFA:R hopefully being finished ahead of it.

Not sure I understand that bit, but okay 😃
I am also looking forward to seeing V2: Super Special Starkiller Edition completed before TLJ. I’ve quite run out of things to change, at least until V3: Ultra Complete Mega Fantastic Poe and Finn Shipping Edition.

Didn’t realise Kerr was still around. If you don’t mind, would you please ask him if he ever plans to do edits on TPM & AOTC? His ROTS “Dark Force Rising” is my all time favourite edit of any PT edit (not just for ROTS) and I’ve always hoped to see what he would do with the other two if he ever decided to edit them. Watching Dark Force Rising had my jaw actually dropping a number of times, I’ve never experienced an edit that could so completely turn around a normally yawn inducing, face palming cringe-fest experience that the theatricals are.

I know he doesn’t have any plans to, as I’d also like to see that.
