I think that initially it was not as obvious that colin Trevorrow’s script was problematic till Carrie fisher died. Remember that Carrie fisher was suppose to play a larger and larger role as the trilogy went on. Without Carrie fisher than colin Trevorrow was left with no story core and it became obvious that she and her brother were meant to be the emotional cruch of a script that was obivously not very good without those elements. So kennedy fired him when it became obvious

Remember that colin was never truly the writer of jurassic world…most of its story problems came from the previous planet of the apes writers

I don’t think it would be a leap to say that the script was trash even with those story elements included.

If you don’t like anything else a hired director has done, don’t like the look of the things being shown to promote the film, feel the story is moving in a direction you’d rather it not, hear from like-minded people that they didn’t like it, ect, ect, why wouldn’t you be concerned that you may not like the movie? Especially if it’s the next part in a series you’ve enjoyed and may not like the conclusion of?
Writing something off before you see it is a different matter, but there a plenty of reasons to suspect that a movie may not end up being what you were hoping for.

I couldn’t even tell you the release date for TLJ. It’s this December, right?*

When it comes out I will see it. I hope I like it. If I don’t, I’ll be disappointed. Worrying about it beforehand changes nothing.
