I can’t wait to find out who they’ll name as the replacement director when they start all the reshoots!
I can’t wait to find out who will make this lame joke next!

Rehash all the things lol
If there was any standalone that was an acceptable use for established characters, this would be it - it’s what everyone wanted since the whole standalone concept was announced.
Everyone?
Alderaan doesn’t like fun.
I keep forgetting that some people recoil at the kiss of sunlight or the laughter of a child.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
Still waiting for that “standalone” Star Wars film to be announced.
You know, the one that doesn’t completely rely on my foreknowledge of the other Star Wars films in order to be coherent.

It’s sad that billions never got the chance to live but people like impscum use their time wallowing in a self imposed prison. Nothing but living corpses.
If you spent more than 12 seconds making that post you should be ashamed of yourself.
He should be ashamed of all his posts regardless of how long it takes him to construct them.
So he should have neutral feelings when he bigs up the OT.

I think we will be waiting for a while.

👍 !

The rehashes they made weren’t even remotely coherent.

Ah, yes! From a business standpoint, I want to drop 4 billion on a franchise so I can make movies that are very remotely related and will alienate multiple elements from a fanbase and ensure my investment does not pay off. Sounds like a great idea!
From a fan standpoint, I want to watch a series of movies that supposedly take place in the same universe as another series of movies, but without any references, nods, characters, or elements from the previously established series. That’s the sort of thing that helps me connect it to the films I already love! Sounds like a great idea!
There is plenty of time to explore tangentially-related elements. For now, we can enjoy a little bit of something we can already relate to and have already grown to love.

I think we’ll see that “standalone” movie sooner than we see something useful posted from your keyboard.

I hear there are other franchises that could use more “fans” who have nothing positive to say about the franchise they supposedly love.

You completely missed the point. No one says they should throw all Star Wars elements away. They should indeed stay within the Star Wars universe, but I want to see some new stories and characters. I do not want them to rehash stories/elements and parasitise OT characters.

Well not anyone can find sophisticated things useful.

Well that was a good couple of months without ImpScum.
They’re all either sock accounts or they’re coordinating.
(stolen from TMBTM)
I have no feelings either way about this. It’s a safe choice of subject matter, in a series of spin offs I have yet to care for. So, go them I guess.
They ought to just call it The Kenobi Movie or TKM for short.
The secret filming title ought to be Club Obi Wan or C.O.W.
Where were you in '77?

Of course I understand that from a business perspective it makes total sense to keep drawing from the same well. This is a safe bet and an Obi Wan movie will make a billion dollars easily.
To your second point: I’m a Star Wars fan, but I want the exact idea that you’re mocking and I can’t possibly be the only one. I want a Star Wars movie without references or nods or recurring characters. Give me a fresh take on Star Wars, or at least a fresh take on a familiar character. Perhaps that’s what this movie will be, but something makes me doubt that.
Disney has an entire galaxy to flesh out and play with, but somehow we always end up back on Tatooine with the same cast of characters. And if I want to connect to the old Star Wars films that I already love, I’ll re-watch the old Star Wars films that I already love.
JEDIT: I loved Star Wars VII by the way. I’m not quite as cynical and joyless as Impscum or Alderaan 😉

I guess somebody’s gotta take up the slack now that Darth Idiostuperific is gone.
Maybe ol’ Ben Kenobi will encounter a dark side force user who will deliver some force lightning to his face, making him go from McGregor to Guinness instantly.
disregard

I stayed strictly on-topic while you guys were making off-topic provocations. Besides your post, here are the other two instances:

Oh, poor, misunderstood Imp’scum. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Well this is a horrible idea, so yes.
