Having just viewed the original terminator it made me think how just like Star Wars it was far ahead of its time. I also was waiting for A Digital Mans extended cut additions of the extra scenes which made a more rounded take of a true classic.

Next up is George Lucas directors cut of THX 1138 for me.

I hope you know what you’re getting into. Even the Special Editions don’t go that far! 😉

I love that edit! That the final scenes at Cyberdine (sp?) have never been added to an official release is a mistake in my opinion. Really creates a strong tie to the sequel.

I don’t remember much about the deleted scenes except one where Linda is talking to herself in a mirror and it’s some really bad acting.

David Brent: Life On The Road 2016

LOVED this! I’m a big fan of the U.K.'s The Office, but had reservations about this movie. It was nearly perfect. I had eyes full of tears at the end and laughed just about the entire runtime. Great story, great laughs, GREAT POINT to the whole thing.
I can’t recommend this enough. It’s streaming on Netflix and I think most here would feel better for having watched it.

Ah cool, wasn’t sure what to make of that. Thanks for the recommendation.

Commando (1985)

Dumb as rocks, but damn, if it isn’t highly entertaining.

Catching up, I’m glad that The Living Daylights being my second pre-Craig Bond rewatch comes recommended, even if I watched it before these posts were made. It (and Dalton) stuck out to me in my random Bond watch, so I was really looking forward to watching it again.

It Follows (2014)

It’s fine.

Honestly, I think I was let down by the fact that everyone seems to love this movie. It was ok, certainly better made than most horror films, but I was expecting more given the glowing reviews. And for a movie that seemed to be trying to be realistic (other than the main “something tries to kill you until you pass it on to a sexual partner” conceit), I kept thinking of questions…like where are all the adults? Where are the parents? Where is the hospital staff? Who owns these safe-houses they keep using? How are they paying for all the hospital stays? Where are the police throughout? And I can’t decide if I liked the ending or if I think it was just lazy, but I’m leaning towards the latter.

Red Desert (1964)
Chicago (2002)

I liked Red Desert more overall, well, not like, but was impacted more by it, since it’s a very depressing film. However, We Both Reached for the Gun is brilliant, my favorite part of Chicago. Was it worth winning Best Picture that year? I’m not sure, looking over each nominee from that year, I can’t say any of the ones I’ve seen mean anything to me.

I’m partial to The Two Towers or Gangs of New York, personally. It’s a good film though.

Swiss Army Man (2016). It’s a comedy-drama, that’s very interesting, and strange. Keeps you wondering, what you’re watching.

Bee Movie (2007) – ★★★

It’s not a perfect comedy, but it’s very entertaining. Some might see it as simply dumb, but you have to realize that the overall joke is just how exaggerated and ridiculous everything is.

Oh my god you rated Bee Movie higher than Toy Story 2. Reported.

Arrival (2016)

Perfect.

I cannot tell you how happy I am to read this 😃 It truly is a great film. My second favorite of 2016.

IMO, It is as close to a perfect movie as I’ve seen released in recent years. After thinking about it all night, I can only think of one very, very minor problem I had.

Spoilers I guess

The brief shot where she hallucinates the heptapod being in the room with her was a bit wonky.

Agreed. It shows how good it is though since that is the one gripe you can think of LOL 😉

I would never joke about something like that.
