It’s like someone put a hand grenade in a clip-art library.

On the albums sleeve you can turn an inner, circular paper to change the imagery on the front. It’s pretty neat.

Are you one of those vinyl people?

Are you anti-vinyl? Vinyl is great; deal with it.

I don’t really like the culture of vinyl people. Especially the people who say it sounds better than CD.

A lot of it can depend on your equipment. If you have a bad turntable then it probably won’t sound as good as a CD in a Bose CD player, but generally speaking analogue sounds much better on a good setup.

Ok, so here we go:

A common belief is that analog mediums sound better than digital. People that support that belief will often say something about quantization errors and star steps etc. Basically it boils down to “A digital medium can’t represent all the sounds that analog can.” Well, that is a misguided belief that probably started in Usenet in the mid 90s. The truth is that digital mediums can faithfully represent wave signals without being a stair step. See this video for an explanation. Also, another argument that the analog people bring up is who warmer analog sounds. However, that “warmth” is just the result of inaccuracies. The fact is that digital more faithfully represents a sound wave that traveled through the air. Analog just has certain inaccuracies that prevent it from being the best representation of a sound. Now, analog mediums may sound better to you, but that’s because you’re accustomed to all the inaccuracies of vinyl. You have nostalgia for them. But digital is objectively better at representing sound.

See this blog post that I wrote for a better analysis.

As a person who doesn’t like anime, sitting through over six hours of an anime podcast does not appeal to me in the slightest.

It’s not a podcast dedicated to anime. It’s dedicated to entertainment.

Every episode you linked is dedicated to an anime, is it not?

They also have episodes on Star Wars, books, music, and more:

Also, another podcast on the same network called Robot or Not. Each episode is only a couple of minutes long. Really good fun:

Start from Episode 0 to avoid confusion.

I know but nobody who claims to care about objectification comments on male objectification.

That’s a problem.

Or perhaps neither are a problem.

Yeah, you’re right, female objectification is perfectly fine. That’ll learn em.

My problem is that people say that every single instance of a woman appearing in any media is objectification. Even cartoons are objectifying women. Whatever people like you call “objectification” is not a problem.

I don’t think that anybody is saying that every single instance of a woman appearing in media is objectification.

You also write “uhh… yeah.” as though it’s just incredibly baffling that someone could not see that those images are horrifying and misogynist. Well, they aren’t. They haven’t hurt anybody and there’s nothing wrong with either of them.

They don’t hurt directly, but they can lead indirectly to culture which can hurt.

The original Star Wars poster has an image of a muscular Luke with his shirt torn open. Either that image is just as bad as these images (which is insane), or neither of them are bad, but the double standard is incredibly obnoxious.

Well, yes, both should be equally treated.
