Is it pronounced “Letterbox-d” or “Letterboxed”?

Sometimes no one to trust is better than anyone to trust.
Man, talk about east coast bias…
It’s not bias if it’s the correct time zone.
It’s like a can of Coke left out for a few hours.
This was funny a few days ago but now it’s not.
OHHHHHHHHHH. It appears I missed a joke. It’s a pretty good one too, but would have been 100X more apparent if you had edited my post that way in your post. But perhaps that is just me.

This joke may be in bad taste.
I agree. This conversation is seriously fizzling out.
And so soon after it began, like a can of RC.
JEDIT: Hi, Mark.

I almost thought I was in the real movie thread for a second.
Frink, this is annoying.
then why did you post it? or was this referring to that?
dahmage.
Frink, this is annoying.
I wish they made caffeine free RC. I like RC
I found him! Look! The one RC fan!
Also, in my opinion, if you’re going to drink soda, drink real soda. Considering the popularity of things like Diet Coke, I guess not everybody thinks this.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/25/us/politics/trump-mueller-special-counsel-russia.html
President Trump ordered the firing last June of Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, according to four people told of the matter, but ultimately backed down after the White House counsel threatened to resign rather than carry out the directive.
The West Wing confrontation marks the first time Mr. Trump is known to have tried to fire the special counsel. Mr. Mueller learned about the episode in recent months as his investigators interviewed current and former senior White House officials in his inquiry into whether the president obstructed justice.
Amid the first wave of news media reports that Mr. Mueller was examining a possible obstruction case, the president began to argue that Mr. Mueller had three conflicts of interest that disqualified him from overseeing the investigation, two of the people said.
First, he claimed that a dispute years ago over fees at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., had prompted Mr. Mueller, the F.B.I. director at the time, to resign his membership. The president also said Mr. Mueller could not be impartial because he had most recently worked for the law firm that previously represented the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Finally, the president said, Mr. Mueller had been interviewed to return as the F.B.I. director the day before he was appointed special counsel in May.
I don’t keep anything important in my phone.
Passwords, contacts, bank accounts, pictures… none of this is in your phone?
The “Internet of Things” (by the way, what a hogwash name) has a whole bunch of security holes. It’s nothing insurmountable, in my opinion, but given the obsession the public has with hacking, that may be a stumbling block in the adoption of self driving cars.
I’m not sure if this is the right thread for what I’m about to say, so if there’s a thread for something like this, please point the way!
Rewatching ESB for probably the 50,000,000th time, I actually noticed something weird about one scene in particular. Right when Darth Vader says “No, I am your father”, pay close attention to him. I can’t really describe what it is, but it’s the way he moves as he says that immortal line. It’s very subtle, but if you look closely, you’ll notice it.
I’m not sure if that’s David Prowse moving with the rushing wind or if it’s something from the editing process. And the only thing that comes to mind seeing him move like this is that it could probably be something called the “forward-reverse technique”. I say that because it reminds me of when the technique was used for the scene in that godawful “Batman & Robin” movie when Robin comes out of the water and goes right back in again. Only with ESB, it wasn’t as colossally (and painfully) obvious.
I don’t know if I’m the only one who sees this or if I’m just rambling about nothing, but if anybody has the answer to this, I sure would appreciate it because I keep thinking it’s a Special Edition change until I watched the Grindhouse Edition and noticed the subtle movement there. So I’m guessing it’s been there since 1980. So really, my question is what the heck it is?
I’m pretty sure it’s something intentional. I think I read about it somewhere.

People also seem to forget that using computers that are publicly accessible at libraries to get the rars a few at a time is a feasible option, even if your home internet is slow.
If you use a flash drive just for the purpose of transporting files from the library to your home storage, an 8 gig drive would suffice to get 10 rars per trip.
Most libraries at least have broadband, so even if you only have dial-up at your home, these projects can still be within reach for you.
I bet they have filters for this kind of content at public libraries.
The more hoops it appears one has to take to do something, the more likely it is that they don’t do it, no master how simple it is.

Also, sorry guys, RLM sucks.
Not that I disagree, but why to you think that?
It probably should happen at some point, but people love their cars.
The whole TFA soundtrack dounds a little flat. TLJ almost sounded like LSO to me, excepting the main title.
This is from a couple of weeks ago, but still:
R2 and 3PO win by default, since they’re in every film.
Once again, the Oscars are a joke. Wish I could cobble up a fake statuette and somehow get it to Mark. I used to have a fake Oscar, but loaned it out to a local comic shop where it subsequently disappeared.
Agreed. Lucas should’ve won Best Director in 1978, and imo Hamill at least deserved a nomination for this one.
I don’t think the Academy likes Star Wars.
Apparently a woman’s been nominated for cinematography for the first time. What do we think of that?
I wonder if it’s because no one would nominate a woman or if no one would hire a woman, or both.
I tend to think the latter.
The banned members thread should be unlocked. We’re discusdibg it here, so there’s no point in not having a seperate thread. And the incident that caused it to be locked is very unlikely to happen again.
