STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
Adywan,

Just been looking at your clips again for the hundreth time.

Noticed during the Obi-Wan Vader fight that there is a powder coming off the sabers on some blows. obviously this was the pratical prop at the time coming apart with the blows, just thought you might be able to at least dimish this as it ruins the light saber effect for that fight.

Thanks

Adywan,

You did a brillant job covering up marks on the door in the detention block before it blows.

Is there any chance you could do the same for the wall during the Obi-Wan and Vader fight. As everyone knows you see the damaged wall before Vader hits it while trying to swing at Obi-Wan.

Thanks.

Adywan that is just spectacular and it works so well, it actually makes the destruction of the planet feel more powerful. You get a sense of the force of the planet exploding and it makes the added CGI effect of the debris work better too.

I must compliment you on the lightsaber fix, I know you said it's the first phase but damn it's looking great as it is, I love the way you get everything so vibrant and actually looks like they were always there in the film.

Can I ask you what software you are using for modifying the lightsabers and the majority of your effects?

Great work I'm really excited about this project!

Great work Adywan!

I tried to start working on the lightsabers myself ages ago but with work and family never had the time to finish what I started.

After spending weeks working on this I know how hard it can be to work around the original effect and I'm very impressed with the quality you managed to get. Even better is the fact that you managed to get them to look more like the blue OT lightsbaer colours than going the way of the PT which was leaning more towards a blue-violet colour range.

However I did notice that the core doesn't seem to have quite the right whiteness to it as the OT had originally, also Vader's saber appears to be a bit too Strawberry Red. Just wanted to give some constructive advice as I want you to produce the best you can and get the pat on the back you deserve for doing this.

I'm curious as to how you managed to get such great shots. For example in the falcon when Luke begins to use the training remote and we have the wide shot I created a clean back plate from when he finishes and walks over to Obi-Wan as he sits down after sensesing a disturbance in the force.

From that I then rotoscoped Luke into the clean plate and then removed his lightsaber blade which as you all know tends to jump around and shift angle independently of the angle it is being held. I then put in a thin red blade to check the new angle of the blade and then used that to create the new lightsaber blade over the top.

Very tricky to get the right motion and still stay with the angle of the lightsaber in Luke's hand. Another problem I had was Chewbacca sitting down in the background. By removing the original blade I had two problems, one was that the old blade was on his head and didn't match the angle of the new blade so you would still see it, two was the glow from the balde was green and not blue which also was on top of him.

I managed to get clean frames of Chewie and rotoscoped him in and then have him go forward as normal and then before the lightsaber moves onto him reverse the footage back the way. At first I had him just be still but thought that was cheating so I did it this way so he still moves.

Just a query will you be sorting out any garbage matts?

Laserman,

Yeah sorry about that at the time I picked this as a username for my internet account I had gotten so fed up trying to find a good free one I picked one that nobody else would ever pick.

I totally forgot how it might be perceived, sorry to everyone for the mental images that may occur. I would like to point out that it's a platonic thing, honest.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone I was able to sort out the corrupt files thanks to everyone's advice.

Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong place but i just wanted to ask if anyone else was having a problem getting the moth3r ESB off of A.b.starwars.

Rar file 02 and 83 are showing as corrupt when trying to extract the files into the image file. Does anyone else have any ideas where i might find other copies of these files?

Thanks for all your help,

Darth Editous,

Sounds like everyone should have a Pet squirrel Steven just to help us along.

Sorry boba feta I was trying hard not to muck up my first post and forgot to mention that I'm in the UK. Although I'm more than happy to pay for delivery from anywhere really.

Hi everyone,

My first post here after I just joined recently, spent most of my time just trying to catch up and learn all the various edits and preservations out there.

First of all I just wanted to say a big thank you to Darth Editous for all his hard work, it looks enough to drive anyone isane.

I know we all appreciate someone who had has gone in and sorted out all the new mistakes and even sorted old ones, half of which I didn't even know was there.

Now onto the cheeky part, would anyone be kind enough to provide a PAL copy of this I would be most grateful. Please PM me details.

Thanks for your time and for making this board great.
