Robocop - Director's Cut 1080p restoration (Released)
Time

I vote an emphatic YES!!! This is another movie I have been hoping would get a new release for along time now.

It stands to reason that the 2 elements that your planning to use have to be better that the mpeg2 release we are currently saddled with.

The project specs that you're proposing sound pretty good to me.  Its too bad that I don't have the LD or required equipment or I would gladly provide the audio track for this.  A collaborative effort between yourself and Team Blu should yield excellent results.  Best of luck.

Hey You_Too, I just wanted to take a moment and give you a proper shout-out on your recolor-timing efforts on the TT transfer.  You did an absolute masterful job, my friend.  Keep up the excellent work.

Thank you! It sure wasn't easy, and then we also added back the lost grain to the crushed blacks.

The HDX version was slightly problematic too since it had some frozen and corrupted frames here and there. To find them I had to watch it at half speed and then we took those frames from the HDTV broadcast and replaced the bad ones. That one also had "edge enhancement" which we reduced.

I'm really proud of this one, the whole team are. And I was surprised by how nice the menu was, I had only seen one preview pic of it long ago and didn't know that we would be able to switch between the two versions while watching.

Wow...that's impressive.  Very, very cool.  I had never seen the original HDX version before and still need to watch the revised one all the way thru.  I'll keep this in mind when i watch it.  Anyway, kudos again on your hard work.  The results are truly impressive and I thank you for your efforts.

Thanks vbangle and vadertyme!

And DJ for sending it to me, I hope it arrives soon! It'll be interesting to try and switch between the 2 versions while watching. And to watch all the extras!

Oh, I almost forgot to thank zeropc too. In my last post I just pointed out that I really don't think the Twilight Time release was good and why, but forgot to thank you!

Knowing that so many people appreciate what we do makes it even more rewarding in the end.

Man...this and RoTLD 3 are at the top of my list for most wanted horror BDs right now.

I would love to see Team Blu tackle this one and Part 3 when their tight project list opens up a bit.  Here's hoping....

part 3 in hd is only available in the r-rated cut. the uncut version is only available on dvd & laserdisc. please, don't mention the horrendous german bd. yes, it's uncut, but the quality is below everything. it looks a 480x360 lowbitrate xvid upconversion to 1080p *yikes*

Thanks for info, zeropc.  It appears that Part 3 is only a pipe dream at this point.  I was hoping that maybe there was an uncut digital version available somewhere else.

Oh and agreed on the German/Austrian version, I have heard the same thing about this being a really bad upconvert although I have heard that the actual German release is also edited down by nearly 10-15 minutes in addition to being a really bad upconvert *double yikes*

It appears that the only hope now is for a Arrow or Second Sight release in the UK.  If that happens there's a good chance that it will be uncut as well.

Man...this and RoTLD 3 are at the top of my list for most wanted horror BDs right now.  Fright Night II is on the list too but Team Blu is already taking care of that for us lol.

DJ, that's excellent news that you have the LD to pull the original PCM from seeing as much like the original film, it was also rescored for subsequent home releases.

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any 1080 version floating around on the internet.  It does appear that amazon has a HD version available as well but I'm not sure about resolution or if its the same as the itunes version.

I would love to see Team Blu tackle this one and Part 3 when their tight project list opens up a bit.  Here's hoping....

Our Night Of The Living Dead 1990 project (Released)
Time

I wanted to confirm that I did receive the disc on Thursday but wasn't able to take it out for a test drive until late yesterday and today due to a hectic schedule.

What has become abundantly clear after viewing this disc and the Conan disc is that Team Blu are men of their word.  Simply put, the disc is unbelievably awesome and easily surpassed my lofty expectations.  I believe that this disc sets the new high bar for fan projects going forward.

To cut to the chase, I'm happy to report that I haven't experienced any issues with this disc and I have put this disc thru its paces.   All of the bonus features present work flawlessly. In fact I was very impressed with how watchable the workprint version was, easily the best copy I've seen.

As for the film itself, I couldn't be happier with the 2 versions which have been included.  They are both unique and should satisfy even the most ardent fan.

Lastly, I would like to take moment to comment on what I feel is the most impressive aspect of this disc, namely the seamless switching between the 2 versions of the film on the fly.  The technical aspects of this alone blow my mind.  I repeatedly switched between the 2 versions of film and the disc handled this flawlessly and just wouldn't let me down. Excellent work guys...excellent work.

In closing, download this with confidence, for this is the true collector's edition for fans of the film.  Team Blu has done all movie fans a great service with this package.  I want to personally thank Team Blu for all their efforts and want to encourage them to keep fighting the good fight.

Conan The Barbarian 1982 US Theatrical Edition & BONUS! *RELEASED*
Time

I just wanted to confirm to Team Blu that I received Conan today. This really is a beautiful looking package.  I went ahead and put the disc into my Samsung player and the disc loaded up with no issues.  I made a beeline to the Conan the Symphony extra and was blown away by how full and clear the audio is. Awesome, awesome extra.

Anyway,  I have access to several different players so I'll report back and let Team Blu know if I find anything unusual.

After my small sampling of the Conan disc I really can't wait to see the NOTLD 90:)

Once again I offer a heartfelt thanks to Team Blu.  Keep up the good work!!!!

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - uncensored HDTV airing(s) (Released)

I am going to rip the video to my drive today, does anyone have the time codes or frame numbers of where exactly these edited frames go this would really help speed things up, I have not seen this movie in years, and do the edited frames need to be color matched? my plan is to edit in the frames(color match if necessary) and then re-encode and swap out videos but leave the entire BD as is, complete with extras and menu's, so if anyone has this info it would help speed things up lol, I only have time to do this because I am waiting on project files for testing.

Thanks

It appear that the time stamps for the baby herman scene is 0:04:37-0:04:38 and the infamous Jessica Rabbit going commando is 1:13:08-1:13:09.

Just send a pm to dark_jedi. He's the one taking care of the donations.

If he doesn't reply, inbox full or whatever, send me a pm and I'll forward your message to him over email.

Thanks again for the response.  Will do.

OK here is an update, I was finally able to find black BD cases, I got them on order, so those that donate BD50's for this release and Conan will get NOTLD 90 SE in a shiny black BD case complete with slipcover, thanks to those that have helped so far, Conan will not be in a black case though lol.

Thanks again from all 3 of us, Team Blu.

Swamp Thing - 93 min (Uncut) Blu-ray Project. (* unfinished project *)

Apparently there are multiple reasons why the uncut version CANnot be released in the US.

(1) yeah, you had the case with the mom renting the dvd for her kids, just to get a big surprise a few hours later.  The thing is, it wasn't her complaining per se that got the dvd pulled.

(2) it was Adrienne Barbeau's contract.  Her contract states that no nudity of her can be played in the US (apparently she doesn't care if her Bar.. well, you know, show up overseas).

(3) also, the cut PG version is Craven's preferred version.  Even so, it still comes down to MGM US not having the rights/permission to play SWAMP THING with the extra bits.

Which is why the uncut version can play on MGM-HD UK.

I wonder if Second Sight has any interest in releasing this.

Perhaps in a cool looking steelbook.  They did a nice job with Return of the Living Dead...
