It’s almost 2 AM and I haven’t slept at all tonight so I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. I’m leaving originaltrilogy and thestarwarstrilogy forums because I refuse to watch the Special Editions and even Disney won’t release the unaltered versions so I don’t have any hope anymore that they will ever be released. MTFBWY

On the “One Last Time” releases, it says “the original one last time”. This implies that only ANH would have got a Special Edition. I am 99% sure I have heard other people talk about this so I am almost positive it is true. Personally, I would have preferred if George Lucas did this instead of messing with Irvin Kershner and Richard Marquand’s films, and if we had the option to watch the 1977 and 1981 versions of ANH as well, because it is beyond ridiculous to only be able to watch 1 version of a film that has multiple versions. What do you guys think?

Edit: I should also mention the “A New Hope” crawl, even though it technically wasn’t an SE change because it was added in 1981. However, I strongly believe the pre-ANH version of Star Wars should be released as well because that’s the least they can do if they won’t release all of the movies in their unaltered forms, because Star Wars is the first movie in the saga, which makes it the most important.

Edit: I just decided I would remove Ian McDiarmid as the Emperor in TESB instead.

If I could remove one change from each movie in the OT, I would remove CG Jabba, Luke’s scream in Cloud City, and Jedi Rocks.

Can someone please make a list of all audio tracks included in 4K77? I would greatly appreciate that.

Does anyone happen to know any more about these one-off screenings in the 1990s? I’m interested.

But I am still wondering when the Star Wars movies were last screened BEFORE the release of the Special Editions…

What I’ve found out is that after 1982, other than the double and triple features, ANH and TESB were screened in 1987 but for ROTJ all I know about is the 1985 re-release.

I know about the 1985 triple feature and the 1987 screenings but I’m not sure if there was anything after that.

For ROTJ all that came up was its first run, I’m focusing on re-releases and special screenings after the first run to find out when the last chance to see the movies in theaters was before the Special Editions.

Also I was wondering if there is a grindhouse version of Star Wars '77 from a single source? Because the Technicolor grindhouse version has an LPP reel 1 with LD audio, and the Spanish LPP grindhouse version’s audio is not from the LPP, because otherwise it would have Spanish audio, and I’m looking for an English version.

Unfortunately no, it’s an article on starwars.com about the 32 theaters that Star Wars opened in on May 25 and information about them.

I contacted the author of the article on fromscripttodvd.com and he says he has a printout of the starwars.com article in storage somewhere.

I just like to have official sources, that’s all.

I’m pretty sure that section is from an Eastman print. 97% of 4K77 is from a Technicolor print, but the rest is from other sources.

Has every Technicolor print of Star Wars had the 1981 opening crawl inserted? If not, could there be any Technicolor prints with the original crawl in existence today?

TROS would have been a perfect movie for me if the Emperor stayed dead.

I find Palpatine returning to be my only problem with TROS, but it’s such a huge problem with the movie that it ruins the whole ST for me. If Palpatine didn’t return in TROS, I might have still considered the sequels canon.
