Use the DE as a base to come as close as possible to the vintage original effects…then throw in SC38 and Jedi Rocks while keeping everything else intact.
Play Jedi Rocks as background for the Han and Leia kiss
I genuinely enjoyed The Force Awakens, which is one more than the number of prequels I liked.
The real question is, why not release the deleted scenes? The only other film in the franchise that has no deleted scenes with the BlueRay is Rogue One, and we all the story with that.
For the unenlightened, could you share the story? I didn’t like Rogue One so I haven’t paid much attention, but I’m interested in the production.
Ah, this is a good technique. Thank you!
Is there any news on the Kenobi movie/TV show/miniseries/Apple Watch exclusive video game? Having recently seen T2 Trainspotting, season 3 of Fargo, and Birds of Prey, I’m really down for some more Ewan McGregor.
There are a few scenes in Harry Potter - A Look Back that never appeared in the films. It would be cool if you found a way to add those in. Specifically, for the Half-Blood Prince, there’s a line by Dumbledore at 2:53 - “In my life I have seen things that are truly horrific. Now I know you’ll see worse.”
Sometimes I like to go back to threads where I forgot to subscribe to see if people have replied to something I said. However, I have trouble finding my profile page. I need to see a thread where I was the last person to reply, and click my username, which takes me to this link: https://originaltrilogy.com/user/ot2k/id/31490. Could there be a “Your Profile” link in the top right by my profile picture?
I really want to see the friendship of the four Marauders from Harry Potter fall apart during Voldemort’s rise to power. It would be a little revisionist, but it would be cool if Pettigrew had an actually compelling reason to betray the Potters (maybe he worked at an orphanage and Voldemort held them hostage?) and why Lupin never got in touch with Harry until he became his schoolteacher.
I think Raiders of the Lost Ark is important to watch after Empire as you get to see Harrison Ford lose all interest in Star Wars.
EyeShotFirst’s Star Wars 1313 Discussion thread may also be of some interest 😃
Wow, that thread is pre-Disney a time capsule. Thanks for the link!
Seeing the 4K upgrade by Lucasfilm (unlike 4K77) is interesting even though it is the special edition
Shoot to Thrill during the Death Star trench run. A little too Marvel, but they copied Star Wars first
Replace Yoda with prequel CGI Yoda in Empire for continuity
On Reddit, u/bluishsquirrel and u/JamieDallimore make them and their stuff is often posted on r/Steelbooks. Here’s one for Stranger Things https://www.reddit.com/r/Steelbooks/comments/7blji5/the_only_stranger_things_steelbook_in_existence/
Yoda’s lesson in Empire. The way the music swells when he says “You must feel the Force around you” is peak Star Wars for me. A close second is Han and Leia’s “scoundrel” kiss. More romance in 3 seconds than in the entirety of Attack of the Clones.
Looking back, it’s a bit too derivative of Uncharted and the like, but the concept of a deep underground prison in Star Wars was so awesome. We kind of got something similar to that tone in The Mandalorian with the prison transport episode, but of all the Star Wars media that died with LucasArts, this hurts the most.
It was lazy and desperate. Not that the introduction and immediate dispatching of Snoke wasn’t mishandled, but literally anything would have been more interesting. And yet he was the most entertaining part of the film.
Wow, you’re right, I forgot about that shot. In the rest of that scene, however, the glow of the lightsaber doesn’t illuminate their skin at all.
I have the LG WH16NS60 firmware v1.0, and it works really well for me, and it is capable of writing 100GB BD-XL discs. The MakeMKV forums have tutorials on how to downgrade the firmware if you get a unit with a newer firmware. However, as others in this thread have mentioned, I’ve so far only used it to read 4K discs.
Use ffmpeg
to change the container. You can install it with your favorite package manager or direct from their website, and then just do
ffmpeg -I path/to/input.mkv -c:v copy -c:a copy path/to/output.mov
If the streams are compatible, and they probably are, your QuickTime MOV file should import cleanly into FCPX.
I was just overly cautious because last time I dl’d a video from Google drive I got a cease and desist from Disney.
Were you perhaps downloading other things around the same time? Otherwise, this doesn’t make sense. Your traffic to Google Drive is encrypted by TLS, so at most an outsider could see that you are transferring encrypted data from google.com
(no URL past that, as it’s encrypted). And I don’t think Google shares its private traffic data with other companies.
