Orignally posted in Luke and Leia (Spoiler!!!)
except in STII, Kirk DID know he had a son named David, he just hadn't
ever seen him. Don't you remember when everyone goes deeper into the
Genesis Cave and Kirk and Carol are alone (except for Checov who's
out of it), Kirk says "I did what you wanted, I stayed away. Why didn't
you tell him?" He could stay away from his son, but he wishes Carol
had at least told David who his father was.

Associated Press

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A print of the film ``Return of the Jedi' was
stolen from a movie projectionist who was held hostage for two hours by an
armed robber, police said yesterday.

The projectionist, John J. Smith, told police the robber confronted him in
the parking lot of the Glenwood Theatres early yesterday and ordered him to
return to the projection room.

Smith said they entered the projection booth of one of the theater's
screening rooms and the gunman forced him to transfer the 70mm film from
large projection reels to smaller transport reels, which took about an
hour.

original version and so was not funny so they added the other line (which
I assume should have been there in the first place but was forgotten)

of some photograhpic or filming error because, after all, this is a $M
Lucas production. I noticed in the scene at the beginning where DV comes
down the platform of his shuttle (the most obvious scene with this so called
rain) that there was a lot of venting gasses eminating from the shuttle.

instance, the projection of Princess Leia (sic?) from R2D2 in SW. In the
documentary about the movie they *say* they filmed a TV image of her,

several people referring to that as a computer generated image.

Better then time traveling to see what oppinions were in 1983.

I found a google group that was around in the early days of the net. Yes, the internet was around in the 80's just not very accessable(around mabye 1,000 people knew/had access. The internet actually started as, a project by the government in '63 but, enough about history).

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/net.movies.sw/threads?start=270&order=recent

It's funny reading some of the articles. Some highlights:

This group was originally created when "The Empire Strikes Back" was
released (I believe), and was intended to keep all the discussions
out of net.movies. Nothing has been posted to net.movies.sw in
many, many months that was not also posted to net.movies. There
seems little reason to support this group until a new Star Wars
epic comes out (years), and we can recreate the group at that time,
should the net last so long.

i feel a tiny (but not too much) sorry for you. criminal action out on the
open public with disregard for the law makes a strong legal case against you.
and doing it in a newsgroup which LucasFilm folks must surely read takes
a whole bunch of GAUL. (perhaps you could go for the insanity defense?)

normally i would just let the other comments stand, but in this case i feel
it is important for USENET folks to strongly condemn your action.
legal stuff aside, your type of request does harm to the net. USENET
can be the forum for the exchange of useful information, and a place to
relax and hang out. but using it for shady reasons is one way to ruin
it for others.

One question to ask George?
Time
Hm, I would ask. "Is it becuase, of family issues that you no longer acknowledge the original version of the original trilogy to exist?" Either that or, "Why did you alter the original trilogy to fit more with the prequel's and, not vise-versa?". Of course I would only ask these questions if I knew he would answer truthfully. If I didn't have that certainty I would just get my DVD's/toy lightsaber and, ask "Can I have your autograph?".

So why Define STAR WARS as OT OR PT?
Time
I'm not here to try to change anyone's oppinion. Just to state some facts.

Tony:

Quote

Greedo shooting first adds more to Han Solo's badass feel (please bare with me yet again)
Han never flinches, so it shows how calm and cool he is and then shoots right away at Greedo. Greedo Misses his first shot, Han does not. This shows Han being the better of the 2.

Actually, if you look at all three versions. You find that in SE not only does he flinch. His whole body moves! In an impossible way of looking like a cut-out and, moving entirely by a few inches. In the DVD only his head moves still in an impossible way. In the original he doesn't move.

Quote

Showing Jabba early on in the series in Episode 4...is not taking the suprise away from what Jabba is a silly statement. Jabba is shown in Episode 1 and has to be. Jabba runs most of that area of Tatooine, and it is natural for him to be seen at the Pod Race. Having Jabba in episode 4 is a good thing IMHO.

How is it a good thing in your oppinion(Jabba in ANH)?

Quote

Episode 4 had very little music and it just seems so very bland too me, but I love it none the less...just I would watch it last to the other STAR WARS Films.

If you've only watched the 2004 DVD english track yes. If you've seen SE or, the original you would have heard more music. Why? Well, in 2004 DVD the force fanfare has been minimized. Click here for more info and, go to audio changes You can hear it if you change to the french track in the beginning of the fight though.

I like it. We should also assign post levels...

Youngling 0-249
Padawan 250-999
Ready for the Trials 1000-2499
Jedi Knight 2500-4999
Jedi Master 5000-9999
Jedi Spirit 10000-19999
The Chosen One 20000+ (only to first obtainer; subsequent members would be "Another Chosen One")

How's that sound?

I still think The Chosen One status should be only obtained at 33K. Also, "Another Chosen One" kind of makes "The Chosen One" not the only one. How about anyone that makes it to that post number get's "Almost the Chosen One" becuase, that would make the chosen one the only one.

If I was doing my own, I wouldn't have to lobby so hard to get my wish-list into Trooperman's hands. I just hope you editing types don't get tired of my notes. ;-)

Well, you do have some good points. Also, it's a shame that you don't have resources to do your own cut. Based on your notes it would be really good. I won't be able to start my own edit until next year though. Since, right now a lot of stuff is going on in my life and, there's no way that I could start this year. I'm just getting information right now so, that later on I know what software to look for. Also, your notes have given me some ideas on what to do on my own edit.

MTHaslett:
You do have some really good points. I forgot what I was trying to get across this morning(I was tired and, couldn't get to sleep). So, I'm going to say that I realize that the longing look is important to the scene and, I'm not really sure how the romance will get figured out in this edit. Thanks for pointing out what it meant(otherwise when I start my edit I might of cut it out).

Trooperman:
I forgot, which scenes between Anakin and, Padme romance scenes are staying in?

Trooperman: I think that it would be weird having the fireside scene without having a completion of the balcony scene. How about cutting out the longing look and, dub over (when she turns away) "I won't give into this". Then, that does give some completion on the scene. Also, I want to do my own edit of Episode II. I was wondering what software do you recommend for audio and, video?

The way Lucas works, things change pretty often. I bet you any money Luke and Leia weren't sisters in 77. That's just the way the guy works, he changes things because he's obsessive complusive and continues to think that there's ways of improving the movie. It's unfortunate but it's all too common with filmmakers and artists of all kinds. Heck, I do it sometimes. (No one complains because not many people see my movies).

I doubt they were siblings even when ESB came out. Deleted scene script.

Anyways, all I know of the originals is of ANH since, I haven't seen the other original versions(sure I can read on the internet about the changes but, seeing it would be different.). So, I think that it's better because, when Han shoots first it looks like it's actually happening. Lucas's reworking made Han look like a dear in headlights. Out of all the changes the only one's that I would see as, justifiable to an "original vision" are the following:
1
2
3

The rest I think he's making it up as, he goes along.

EW asks readers to answer our 'Sith' questions
Time
What's funny is that they answer two of thier own questions.
Quote

2 It takes 19 years to build the first Death Star but just four to make the second fully operational. Did they use a better contractor, or did they just already know where everything went?

Whenever you invent anything it takes a longer time to build it the first time. The second time around you already know what goes where. Plus, the first time that you try to invent something you have to find out where to get what you need. When, you know that then, you can go back to those people again.

1 How does Episode III — Revenge of the Sith's Ewan McGregor morph into Episode IV — A New Hope's Sir Alec Guinness in just 19 years? (Also, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru look like WB teens in Sith — they're old and cranky in Hope.) Is it Tatooine's desert climate? The two suns? Bad skin care?

Living in a world desert with two suns can't be good for anyone's looks. Plus, with Darth Vader and, the Emperor ruling it's doubtfull that they can take a vacation to anywhere(that explains the mood).
