Didn't take long for a thread devoted to an American holiday evolved into a thread about UK politics. It's interesting though :)

That article leads me to wonder what bridges exactly did Prowse burn? He claims to have been unaware of the "I am your father" secret until the film's premiere, yet Lucas supposedly cut off most contact after he leaked that secret. I know first instinct here is to accuse Lucas of being paranoid, selfish, egotistical, or whatnot, but does anyone really know why Prowse was cut off? This question probably merits its own thread, but I don't feel like starting one.

No as I've never had the privilege of watching Star Wars in a theater. I also refused to watch the altered editions in that kind of environment. I've seen some expanded universe "what if?" stories with Anakin Skywalker though... I suppose the theaters where I watched those are still standing.
So zebras running and playing alternate universe zylophones. While Zod is in town shouting "Kneel before Zod!" with ZZ top playing in the backround. With the addition of Lord Zedd walking in the streets with his "Z" staff. Everyone in the diners eating zucchini while playing with their zippers. Others smelling zinnia flowers while checking their Zodiac. All while she herself finds out she has zero change in her pockets must be the worst day ever for her huh?TV's Frink said:

^allol
I think there are 8,000 versions of Pride and Prejudice and my wife has seen/read them all.
Except for the zombie one.
Well, I thought so anyways. Mrs. xhonzi enjoyed the Zombie one... if that means anything to Mrs. Frink.
It won't, she's allergic to anything starting with "z."

You guys have made good points. The reasons why I originally exempted LOTR was because, yes, it was filmed as one film, and also because there is very little difference in quality between the three films. Yes, we all have our favorite, but in actuality, it feels like one movie. By contrast, the last two matrix movies, when watched back to back, feel disjointed to me. They feel different. Most of the movies on that wikipedia list are like that. Stupid reason, I know, because you can't measure how a movie feels. So, I'll change the criteria.
No it wasn't. That was the original intent but they reshot that scene in ROTS pickups in a complete green screen stage. That's what's in the movie. Originally Luke was given to Owen rather than Beru. So they reshot it because letting Owen and Obi-wan have a scene together on an on-location shot is ludicrous. :Pdarth_ender said:
Though not shot entirely back-to-back, the final scene of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Episode_III:_Revenge_of_the_Sith" title="Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith</span></a> was shot in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunisia" title="Tunisia"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Tunisia</span></a> during the production of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Episode_II:_Attack_of_the_Clones" title="Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones</span></a> in order to avoid another trip to Tunisia for a single scene.
</ul>
So maybe I can change my vote so we can preserve Star Wars episodes II and III!!! I know you all agree with me here!

Under what criteria does LOTR get exemption?chinakat said:
2) You can't choose an entire series of movies (i.e. Star Wars, Star Trek, etc.) Pick ONE movie from that series. (exception: The Lord of the Rings)

No question option #1. Option #2 is a fools choice. Seeing the ever fabled "lost cut" would be neat for that afternoon but that'd be it. You'd see a variable quality black & white version of Star Wars. The second option merely states that you get to see it. Not get to own any copy of it. Nor would it uphold Lucasfilm to present it to you in any reasonable quality whatsoever. The first option allows you to purchase several copies of the movie presented in very high quality and everyone else can buy their own copy too. With the addition of making Lucasfilm accountable to present Star Wars in a respectable quality, the choice is clear, number one.SpilkaBilka said:
1) have LucasFilm release an absolutely perfect, pristine, unaltered version of SW on blu-ray,
or
2) get to see the entire "lost cut" of SW.

.....So, um....

Anyways, so by approx. two weeks I'll be deleting my sig. One reason why is that if you click the link it no longer shows the 2011 results rather the 2012 best in show results. Another reason is that I just don't like having a sig and avatar here... I don't know why I just don't. Given that I like bats in a level of magnitude far greater than I do Chuck the sig will soon have to go.

Even if you allow the prequels in your personal canon. I think it's still possible for the Jedi's force abilities to be either not well known or dismissed by the populace. The Jedi's lightsaber is obviously well known. Though that might be what the Jedi are to the citizens. "The protector guys with the lightsabers" or something like that. Sure they were highly active during the Clone Wars but how many real life war stories are exaggerated? Hell if a guy gets a scar on his leg because some kid was playing with a toy. It's not out of the question for that kid w/toy to turn into some wild animal attack when he's trying to impress someone. The midichlorian thing (UGH
) could be something only shared with Jedi and Public officials who need to know.
(Note: I initially wrote this post whilst tired as all hell. For one reason or another I drafted this post... Too lazy now to make edits/additions... So, whatever I'm just going to post it.)

Now I can understand blocking a whole episode or movie on copyright grounds, but just a single part? Why would they, for example, block part 4 of a story, but leave parts 1,2,3, and 5 alone?
It makes no sense and it aggravates me. I'd rather click on part 1 and find out the whole thing had been blocked, than click on and watch parts 1-3, get into the story, and then find out that part 4 is blocked.

I has a sad that this pic has been left out of the long pic posts... It's like the black sheep of the long pics.
Also:

So I looked up one little 5 min review of a Google Chromebook on Youtube because I was mildly interested. After said video I knew I did not want. Now Google chromebook reviews are infesting my Youtube recommended videos like a damn virus! Get away! Go! Shoosh I don't want you!!!
Ugh, the feelings I am feeling are not good at all! :(
Also my signature will soon be completely gone. Details to follow later.
Glad you liked my post CP3S. Much agreed.

thats fair enough mate, tnx.
I live in a country were firearms are illegal,, even a stungun will bring charges under our firearms act so my views on these type of stories are, im sure very different to those from other countries.
But it just seems like madness that a cop can react with lethal force to this kind of incident and be hailed a hero.
I admit i dont have all the facts of this story and i dont mean to judge the cop here either, but he's taken a life and thats a big deal.
nomnom99 said:
I can honestly see now why this country is in such a state. Having seen some of the comments on here saying just pull him off, or use tranquilizer...just proves that peoples IQ's have dropped to single digits in some cases.
A person is eating another guys face, and you expect him to be tranqualised, and watch him carry on eating it while it takes effects....I suppose you would go and get him a drink as well to help wash it down.

Some people have very weird views. If the officer didn't shot then maybe the victim would be dead. If a life of someone is at risk then lethal action is acceptable. You can't wait till a life has been taken then kill him.
How do you know he's mental as well? People don't nothing theses days.
I think the officer did what needed to be done. He took action there and then none of this playing about.

twister111 said:I don't get the significance of the cellphone. And that she put it into her soaking pants pocket?? Better be waterproof since cellphones are notoriously sensitive to water. I doubt the voice recorder would have been of much use in a wet pocket. And it isn't said whether or not it recorded anything. Was a weird detail to add.
Obviously, if one finds oneself in such a situation, they should haunt the aggressor and do a "I know what you did last summer" routine.
