The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Time

After the recent episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. it seems like they were biding their time until they could write the show that they really wanted to write. Apart from two episodes previous to this it now feels that they were written out of a sense of obligation rather than actually wanting to write that episode. It's like they were just setting things up for the show they actually wanted to do. Just how I feel about this before I didn't really feel like that. I thought it was a pretty decent series but then that episode happened and showed what they seemed to want to do from the start. It seems to me like the only episodes that weren't just obligatory set-up were the pilot and the bridge. The rest were either set-up or random action pieces.

Additionally, the very genetic desire to protect women could interfere with a male soldiers ability to perform his job correctly.

That's just wrong. Not even talking morally it's just completely incorrect. There are some men who want to protect women but it sure as hell isn't universal. If it were the way to stop any war would simply be to send in women. In many ways war wouldn't even be a "thing" if there was some genetic desire to protect women in every man. Pretty hard to wage a war if the enemy knows that all they have to do to stop you attacking a place is put a bunch of women there. We'd have world peace pretty quickly if that were true. Or at least it'd be halfway there.

I got this DVD set recently. Sliders. It has this foam insert thingy to hold the DVDs in. The foam insert thingy separated from the box because the glue wasn't strong enough. So now I have to get regular DVD cases for the DVDs. Different DVD holder boxsets annoy me when they malfunction like this.... It's like damn it you have one job!!!!!!

3. Is The Prime Directive a good thing? In these episodes, captains must wrestle with Starfleet Directive #1: Starfleet may not interfere in the social order of any planet.

TNG 03x04 Who Watches the Watchers/ENT 01x13 Dear Doctor

(Bonus: The opening segment of Star Trek Into Darkness deals directly with the question of the Prime Directive, and more to the point, it emphasizes the gravity that the Federation and Starfleet gives to it's Directive #1 by actually punishing someone for violating it.)

So I asked because I was specifically wondering if "Dear Doctor" made the list. Thank you for answering! Yeah I thought if any episode should be there it should be that one or the one with Data and the alien kid(Pen Pals I think). Tuvix is another good episode. All in all nice list you've got there.

Vomiting, thankfully not. Just for whatever reason stuff like stuffy nose with lots of sneezing and other bad stuff(that I don't want to type here) has been plaguing me for the time that I've been largely inactive here. I'm getting better though so hopefully I'll be even more active here soon!http://s12.postimg.org/3z9utjpa1/8vxldt.gif

Mille grazie!

Also Warbler hope you're able to sort out your differences with Bingowings. Or at least that you're better able to ignore him.

Thank you so much in your understanding :-).

I hope you feel better soon! Sorry to hear you've got pet problems as well. ****virtual hugs****

Well when there's only Google or Bing translation there it's either close enough or I simply don't feel confident in my level of Japanese to properly translate it into English. Japanese is around my 8th language in terms of ability. I've gotten a lot better at it since I've started my language learning quest but a lot of what I know is conversational stuff.

Ichiban suki terebi shouga Chuck dekedo sukimo Desu Nototoka Switched at Birthtoka Babylon 5tokadesu.
My favorite TV show is Chuck but I also like Death Note, Switched at Birth, Babylon 5, etc...

^That kind of stuff. I just need to study more to get better at it. :-)

Sumimasen, the delay I've had in this is admittedly too long. I can only apologize. First this happened to deter me from visiting here. Then what I didn't mention there is that I was actually sick at that time. I intended to write out a message in this thread at around the same time but I was too tired for that. I did manage to make some other posts but I wasn't entirely focused so I kind of didn't want to screw up posting in this thread. Another thing is that once my sickness recovered I had family wanting to spend time with me and essentially take up the time I had to spend posting here. Then some dire issues came up with one of my pets and I became preoccupied dealing with that.

Suffice it to say many things took me away from this. Well I'm back now and the best way to make up with that is to actually make some progress with this. I've copy and pasted the info for the first three images in the link above. If that way is good for you I can continue with the information for the other images that way. It's posted under a "read more" thing and a random generic tag so the general tumblr populace won't even read it. Here's what I mean. If that works out for you let me know and I'll post more of the image info throughout the week.

Again many apologies for my lack of progress here before. Now here's a random gif I found while browsing the internet!

wait, would you still have to work full time (before you retired, but that would come way late since you'd have to save up extra money) to support yourself and your family? 'Cause that could really limit your reading time and I suspect it would be a long five hundred years...

Well working would really depend on how selfish I'd want to be that day. I mean with my "make people forget" power I could walk into any store take something and make everyone forget I ever stepped one foot in their store. They'd just be confused as hell as to why their alarm is going off. And if eventually it piles of into mountains of video evidence that I had done such things then I could just make them forget they ever saw that evidence and make them forget that they made those conclusions in the first place. So in a way I'd be able to rule the world entirely anonymously if I wanted to.

I wouldn't even need to outright steal like that either, if I wanted to be more kind about it, I could just give less money for everything. Ask for change from someplace else, make them forget I asked for change, then buy something at lower value than the change I asked for. So I'd end up with the original sum of cash plus the change and the item. In a way it would be "working" just a different kind of work.

If all else fails, or I simply become burdened by conscious of possibly feeling like I've been stealing, I would still have my final wish to fall back on and I could wish for something to redeem myself.

1. For me to have perfect health an invulnerability until I die of old age of over 500.

2. For me to have the ability to heal any old wounds and regenerate any part of my body I desired and bring back my body to prime condition.

3. The ability to bestow onto any other person or persons of my choice perfect health and invulnerability until old age takes them.

4. The ability to heal any other persons of my choice old wounds and regenerate any part of their body they desired and to bring their body into prime condition.

5. The ability to make others forget anything I want them to forget.

6. I'd save this one for anything else I might want in the future. Considering my previous wishes I could do a lot with that already.

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

http://i.imgur.com/0kqhE6Z.jpghttp://s9.postimg.org/51xcy7asf/v7zjus.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/iBpumsl.jpg

So I was going to post images of the three main characters of Star Wars pointing their fingers sort of signifying a "111" because I thought it'd be neat for this page, which on default setting I believe, is 111. And as I am twister111 I thought it would be appropriate that I do that. So I found the following pics. (1), and (2) for Han and Luke but for Leia all I could really find was her pointing her gun... So I decided to throw out my original idea and go for Leia pointing her gun!
