We don't expect high-definition versions yet, as those formats are just too new.

Especially when considering that it gives yet another opportunity for Lucas to rape your wallet a few more years down the line.

Wasn't Lucasfilm supposed to be on the cutting edge of technology? How far the mighty have fallen ...

For me that’s even more reason to avoid getting the 2007 DVDs even if they include the OOT. I’m hopeful that eventually all six films will be released in HD, but at this point with no clear winner in the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray battle that would be a stupid move anyway.

Hey wait a minute; that gives me an idea of how George can fuck fan-boys in the ass even harder. It involves 4 steps in the next 18 months:

Step 1: Release the old DVDs in September with a sub-par copy of the OOT so that die-hard OT fans like me will clear inventory of the shitty 2004 DVDs.

Step 2: Release the 30th Anniversary 12 disc super-pimp set, perhaps without the OOT even as a special feature and get cash from the CG gusher fans. More changes are set for this collection as was mentioned earlier.

Step 3: Release a Special Edition HD-DVD set with new changes that differ from those on the 2007 SD-DVD set.

Step 4: Release a Special Edition Blu-Ray set with new changes that differ from those on the 2007 SD-DVD set AND the aforementioned HD-DVD set.

In this way George can screw over big time fan-boys at least 4 times in a year and a half.

Now you're just giving the man ideas!

But how good would it be to have Dent transform right at the end of a Batman movie? A cliffhanger ending? In fact, I think they have cast Dent for this film - I'm not sure on that, yet, but I think they have - and I don't think Two-Face is gonna show just yet.

The Billy Dee Williams setup wasn't a terribly good one for a few reasons, and I'm not sure whether they ever intended on using it...but I digress: 1) Williams wasn't the D.A., he was running for Mayor, 2) there was no friendship between Dent, Gordon and Batman (although this may have been a new idea pre-Loeb), 3) 'they' (whoever 'they' is) decided to wait three movies to introduce Two-Face, and of course, we all know number 4) Burton was good, Shumacher was crap, and 'they' (again, the powers that be) should never have allowed him to follow the same continuity...

Yeah comics was expensive. One of the main reasons I stopped collecting was that I couldn't afford to buy all the titles neccesary to understand what the hell was going on in any given storyline.

That's why I usually stick to Graphic Novels. Well-written, tightly conceived, self-contained stories.

I'm pretty sure that's what they're doing with this one, is having Harvey Dent move in as the new D.A. I wish they hadn't wasted the whole Falcone storyline on the first one, though - because they need the Long Halloween storyline up their sleeve to do a good Two-Face origin story. Then again, Carmine ain't dead yet, so it's always a possibility.

Yeah, and then there's this whole Batwoman thing that's starting up. If you ask me, the DCU suffers greatly from 'too many characters' syndrome. So many writers have done all they can to streamline this team: Robin, Huntress, Nightwing, Oracle - can't we just leave it at that? Why can't Barbara be the only (ex-)Batgirl and leave it at that? It seems to me this recent Crisis hasn't really affected anything (except to have writers reboot characters with changes for the sake of changes).

Hot-damn, I hate Harry Potter, and now we've let him hijack the Batman thread! Somebody change the topic please!

Ah, screw it, I'll do it...

Has anyone read Knightfall? Or at least Part One of it? I did this week, and I have to say, the quality of it is pretty sketchy in writing and artwork save for the last two stories...

GOOD BYE, OLD FRIENDS...
Time
I do agree with Jay and Zion and this whole thing probably should have blown over by now.

Stinky, I have to level with you right now and explain to you why I think DAYV is a champion - fully deserving of his capital letters and not at all deserving of your insults. I wasn't going to mention it before because it's kind of personal. My grandfather died on Saturday, and he read about it in one of the threads. He PMed me to tell me that he was very close to his grandfather and lost him also recently, and that if I wanted to talk about it I could email him. Now I don't know DAYV outside of these forums, but that is the stuff of true friends, and everything else he's done on these boards is enough for me and others to know that he is a genuinely good and caring person. Whether or not he exercised proper nettiquette or not is not my concern, and that has been dealt with, but know that as a person he is a good human being and completely undeserving of your personal insults.

Where did the huge influx of retards come from?

Hey redbaron, what exactly constitutes being a new retard. Is it the fact that a person may not have a high post count or is it that you are uncomfortable with things or people that may be different? I am curious.

As far as warblers leaving goes. I am a new retard (I am only assuming since no real definition has been given yet) and nothing makes this retard happier than seeing whiney bitchy long time people with high post counts get sensitive and tell every one that they are leaving. Whats the deal with that. Do you lack the attention that you feel you deserve.

So come on retards we have them on the run here in off topic.

Sorry half full, I wasn't trying to sound elitist or anything - there's nothing wrong with being a new poster, everyone has to start at zero - so long as you have something constructive or interesting or funny to say all is well with the world. I don't think I even said "new retards" - just "a huge influx of retards [seemingly from outta nowhere]" - basically, retards-that-happen-to-be-new (not because they are new). I was pretty much just talking about trolls and shit-stirrers - it just seems that a lot of them have appeared out of nowhere and have deemed this website to be the home of their chaos.

I mean - that motherfucker was LOUD, am I right?

He's still lurking around, man, and he's a top bloke too, so go easy...in fact, it really hurt to see him type 'ot.com' in lower case for the first time.

Nope. The title of the book was HP and the Philosopher's Stone'. Apparently the studio didn't think American's would know what a philosopher was, and, y'know the movie's about wizards and sorcerors and shit, so better get that in the title somewhere for people who have been living on Mars and haven't heard of Harry Potter.

That's so retarded, given how many conservative Christians were opposed to Harry Potter already - oh, I know, why don't we flesh out the whole occult aspect of it? THAT'll draw out the American crowds!

True, they do have Halloween, but...you know what I mean.
