You know, in Australia, the two most popular cars are the Ford Falcon...

and the Holden Commodore...

As for my car - it's an 1982 Ford Laser. It's gold/brown with a blue tip from when my dad smashed the front of it. It's a bomb, but I love it. It's been in my family ever since I was a kid. It's almost surreal watching a video of me as a 3 year-old reversing it down the driveway...I call it the "Silver Bullet" even though it isn't silver, but that's a long story.

Really? I wish they didn't clap at all, but in a way that it would be clear that it was not something like a deliberated joke about the prequels. I wish she really bombed there. Why didn't she say "you guys remember me from Closer and Vendetta and" other movies?

Hey ric,

LOL @ your new signature - I appreciate the Borat reference!

In my country there is problem...

It's a mixture of pity and downright holy crap, he is such a loser/geek! for me.

I love the edit where he appears in R2's projection in place of Princess Leia. Obi-wan and Luke sit there, looking disturbed and puzzled by what they see.

I also think the Matrix Revolutions edit is also pretty damn funny as Ghyslain takes on the Agent Smiths in an epic battle!

Not at launch, no. I'll probably put together some alternative color schemes later on, but I doubt I'll build a color editor like the current software. Too much work for a function that very few people use. If you take some screen captures of a few forum pages and send them to me (preferably in GIF, PNG, or bitmap format to maintain color accuracy), I can try to build a color scheme that mimics what you're using.

Anybody else not like the color scheme, either in the current forum or the new design? It is pretty damn bland now that I take off my developer's glasses and look at it with my designer's glasses. It's tough for me to say because I haven't had my LCDs professionally calibrated and I don't know if they're color-correct. Plus, I've always preferred muted colors.

After the Mac expenditure, I don't really have any money left over for one of their studio LCDs, which I've heard have great out-of-the-box calibration.

The less white involved, the better - then it doesn't look like we're staring into the sun at night. A splash of orange or something might be nice.

TPM voted #12 worst sequel ever by EW Magazine

Exactly what I was about to say. If you look at the Tin Man,Cowardly Lion, etc, they were taken directly from the illustrations in the books, not the Judy Garland movie. Also, there are some other characters that show up in the books in the final celebration scene in the emerald city Being a big fan of the entire Oz series of books, I loved Return to Oz. It was very true to the books. Unfortunately, everyone thinks Oz=Judy Garland and didn't get the film. Not that I don't like Judy Garland's Wizard of Oz, because I think its great. Its just that the two are similar, but different at the same time.

On another side note about Return to Oz, if one watches the "tour of the Lucasfilm archives" in the Supplemental materials to the Definitive Collection LD/Rowman's DVD extras, Tik-Tok is in there. I think he was at the beginning, and the camera goes by him in the midst of the expected Star Wars stuff. I thought that was cool when I saw him.

As for TPM, I hate to defend it, but I don't think it deserved to be in the list of worst movie sequels. There are plenty of worse movies than TPM that didn't make the list. I'll say that AOTC was worse than TPM. To be fair to it, there was no way on earth any film could of ever lived up to the hype that TPM had. Having said that, no, it wasn't a really great movie, and I'd just assume watch the OT. But I don't think it belongs on this list.

I think they measured the 'worse-ness' (worsity?!) of TPM by its fall from grace. OT to TPM - THAT's a long way down. TPM to AOTC? Meh - almost a smooth transition.

ZION SPENDS MOST OF HIS TIME IN THE PRESERVATION FORUMS.

I find it too hard to get into the Preservation Forums. They're interesting topics; they just move way too fast for me to keep up.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT THE PRESERVATION FORUMS HAVE MORE TRAFFIC THAN ANY OTHER FORUM ON HERE. IT USED TO BE THE OFF TOPIC FORUM BACK IN THE DAY. HELL, THERE WASN'T EVEN A PRESERVATION FORUM THEN.

Yeah, that's why I have so much trouble keeping up. But the new 'blog' format that Jay has been talking about looks like it might help.

But it's all about the journey, right? *grumble grumble grumble*

Tell me more about this PC version. I've never heard of it. Is it the same game as TMNT 1 on NES?

It was *almost* the same, from what I remember. I played the PC game at home on my 286, and played the NES version at my cousins' house. It was an action platformer - the 'pellets' life bar - climbing up ladders, killing mousers, trying to save April, Rocksteady and Bebop as end-of-level bosses at times. Then that map screen where you choose the next level. The main difference seemed to be what levels you could do in what order. I feel as though the PC version was more linear, and I'm almost certain there was a bug in the game with a level that could not be passed...

Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat

Yep, the Virtua Fighter games are the only 3D fighters I can get into. I used to play VF2 on my Saturn all the time.

It sort of pisses me off now that my PS-playing friends used to go on about how crap the VF games were in comparison to Tekken, even though they never played them. And now VF4's on PS2 and everyone's hailing it as the best fighter ever made.

But I still think Street Fighter Alpha 2 & 3 kicks everything else's ass.

Torrents Noob.
Time
I am a total noob when it comes to torrents. Here are my main questions:

- What are the best torrent websites to search on?
- How do you search for the torrent you want and get results (e.g. if I wanted to get hold of Moth3r's OT PAL DVDs, how would I search for their torrents?)?
- What is 'seeding'?
- What do you do with a torrent once you've downloaded it? Or more to the point: how do you make the transition from torrent to DVD? What programs will I need?
- DVDs aside, how do you turn a torrent into a fully functional movie stored on your computer?

Again, sorry for my complete ignorance, but I really need to get started learning all this...your help would be greatly appreciated - SHOW ME THE LIGHT!
