The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Well that actually looks* good, which is surprising since my least favorite MCU films are the two Thor movies. The villian lady looks like the Power Rangers reboot villain lady crossed with Aku from Samurai Jack and I kinda like it.

*I’m at school and couldn’t listen to the audio because I left my earbuds at home, so I actually mean that it “looks” good.

Is it possible that they’ll announce a new SE with updated VFX that doesn’t feature the more annoying changes and still stays true to canon? I’d kinda want to see that.

I believe that won’t happen. The “SE” became Lucas’ director’s/producer’s cut, any further changes or rollback would been seen as shitting on Lucas.

I dunno, there was that story a couple years ago about an unnamed source at Lucasfilm having seen a new version of the SE where Han shoots first again.

So… they’re taking the popular catchy slogan/rallying cry for OOT literally? Sounds reasonable.

Limited edition VHS tapes! 😉

Celebration exclusive VHS tapes of Rogue One and The Force Awakens Would totally sell.

I would love to see Lucas come on stage and Kennedy tell him off for calling them white slavers, announce an OOT release, push him off the stage and end it with “Kennedy shot first- bitch!”

I would love that dream. Real life though? Nah.

^Don’t forget the signature.

The signature isn’t true?

Expanded Universe: lol wat

They added Grand Admiral Thrawn to a television series, and are also releasing a new book by the original author of Heir to the Empire, a book you seem to like.

Nostalgia: originaltrilogyoriginaltrilogyoriginaltrilogyoriginaltrilogyoriginaltrilogyoriginaltrilogy

Maybe because most paying, adult moviegoers remember it the most and have the most nostalgia for it?

Prequel Trilogy: lol wat

Clone Army, the Sith, and Balence in the Force were mentioned in TFA, which is 50 years after the prequels. Pretty good considering how forgetful people seem to be of the events of the PT in the OT (like how no one remembers the Jedi that were spread across the galaxy by the thousands).
Mustafar was in Rogue One, along with Bail Organa, Coruscant, Turbo Tanks, and probably more Prequel references that I didn’t notice.

Worldbuilding: lol wat

New planets, a non-planet outpost in Rogue One (something I believe has not been seen before in a SW movie), Lor San Tekka’s Church of the Force, the Guardians of the Whills, an extremist rebel sect against the main Rebellion, worlds seem pretty well built to me.

With all due respect to her memory, I think Carrie would appreciate her character getting the end that fit the story.

I guess she might’ve, sure.

I think Leia’s role was to bring back Kylo to the light, in a very conflicting and heartbreaking moment most certainly saved for EP IX.

Ehhh…

I can imagine this scene in my head, in which Luke is dead and Rey defeated - Snoke believing all Jedi now to be extinct, with Rey and Kylo - having tried to overthrow Snoke - both laying wounded on the floor infront of him. And then, in a “what the fuck are you doing here?” reaction from Snoke as Leia suddenly walks into the room from out of nowhere, Leia suddenly wreaks mental force havoc on Snoke, killing him in the most brutal force usage scene we have ever seen on screen, crushing and slamming him from wall to wall until every bone is broken in his twisted, pale body, only for Leia to give the biggest one-liner ever: “I’m not afraid of the Dark Side, Lord Snoke - I relish it in the favor of my son”, crushing Snoke’s head right off with the very swift movement of the Force from her hands, leaving his wretched body more pale and lifeless than ever on the dusty floor.

  1. No.
  2. That’s not even a one-liner. It really doesn’t even make sense.

I don’t give a shit what you think ❤️ From my point of view your behavior is evil! Lil’ Ani would flesh you with his exhaustion vents.

Okay, cool.

I was still hoping that they were planning on announcing an OOT re-release at Celebration, but after yesterday’s episode of the Star Wars Show, I’m not so sure anymore. It sounds like they’re teasing a surprise appearance (George Lucas?).
That being said, I talked to Jason Ward on Twitter a while ago and he still thinks that something OOT related is going on at Lucasfilm. So maybe there’s a chance.

There’s always Comic-Con.

Celebration will be about remembering Carrie and hyping up Episode VIII and the Han Solo movie. It actually makes sense that they wouldn’t want to make a huge announcement about the OOT in the midst of all that.

Why, exactly? Are they afraid OOT would make everyone forget about the new movies? “Ehh, we got the original movies now, we don’t care about your sequel movies and EU movies anymore, or anything else you do.”

The Star Wars Show again hinted at something huge happening during the 40 Year Anniversary panel today…

Aye, they made a pretty big deal about it…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4FnHBITnTw (about 1m 10s in)

It feels like they’re hinting at a George Lucas appearance, though I doubt he wants anything to do with it now.

That would be awkward considering he called Disney white slavers.

He is kind of right, in a way 😦. They are running the franchise into the ground by just rehashing the good parts from the OT.

To be fair, TFA is tied, maybe even better than Jedi, and light years ahead of the prequels.

I’m watching the Rogue One bonus featurettes and during the K-2SO one they showed a clip from the original film that didn’t look like the blu ray. It’s R2 and 3PO on the Tantive and I think it looked better than the blu, but it’s been a while since I’ve looked at the blu.

Clip of Tarkin/Leia from SW77 was just shown in The Empire featurette. It looks better that the blu as well, but again, this is just based on my memory.
