The problem with the PT is that it has a hate following. Now if it is any help to you other series have it as well those being Micheal Bays Transformers and the Twilight films in fact I think Micheal Bays Transformers(or Bayformers as the G1 fanboys like to call them) have an even worse hate following.
I honestly don’t think that it has anything to with their immense lack of quality. Sure twilight is nothing but emotional and literal porn for women but the truth is that their are thousands of romance novels like that and it just so happens that Twilight has enough fans behind it that it got made into a film series. Add to the fact that it takes a really crazy spin on the beloved vampire mythology and the hatred is easily explained. Like wise the live action Transformers films are just like any other of Micheal Bays movie but it has the label Transformers on it so all the 80’s manchildren go crazy when they are released and to be honest I think something similar happened to the SW prequels(not counting rouge one).
Their are allot of bad movies such as food fight and Garbage pail kids but they don’t have a hate following so expressing your appreciation for them would probably be more exaptable especially within these circles.
This might change over time tho. I mean ones upon a time Schumachers Batman film had a massive hate following but now a days people seem to look back on them with quite the fondness or at least more acceptence then before, although in fairness it might have something to do with how extremely far Warner Brothers went in the other direction with it’s DC movies and honestly only time will tell if peoples general perception of the PT will ever change.

Is this really a good idea??? From what I understand these kind of conversation is what started the whole trolling fiasco.
Erm, methinks that trolling fiascos like that are brought on by personal anger and bitterness, not discussions of whether or not certain movies are bad. If it does cause a trolling fiasco, then the troll has to have already planned it in his mind (“mind” being a term I use lightly) and was just looking for any excuse.
I can enjoy the prequels with a large group to laugh at them with me. It’s been a few years since I’ve done that though. Last time I watched a prequel (AOTC, specifically) alone was in an attempt to bore myself to sleep, and I instead just became angrier as it went on, so I stopped about halfway.
They are bad, but not that bad. Episode 3 is quite good outside of lame key scenes (which means that most of the movie actually works fine),

Yep. It all happened in the final season, when Yoda travelled to their home planet and encountered a bunch of weird entities straight out of Majora’s Mask.

Every time I look through PT concept art, I see the excellent PT which could’ve been if Lucas didn’t have the creative vision of a mole.

In order to be a Star Wars fan, one must adore the latter three 20th Century Fox films the same, obsess over the old EU and hate Disney for un-canonising it all. They must also love all the TV shows with “Clone” and “Wars” in the titles, so not Rebels, and despise with all their heart The Force Awakens, Rogue One and everything in the nuEU.

While I think such a line may be spoken at some point, I don’t think it’ll be in VIII. I think they’ll wait several more years, when the prequels are insignificant specks in the massive catalog of films.
