That would be something. Some of the less conventional weapons would be more difficult to replicate (whatshername...the teenager from Soul Caliber 2 with the things that look like police batons...Talim I think was the name). Swords are easy.

According to what I've read, you can swing the sword, use the controller to precisely aim your bow/arrows AND it work for the now near-legendary Zelda fishing.
Also, the controller has a small speaker in it, so you will hear the arrow become notched and the bowstring tighten.

Sean,
That controller looks like it would be used for playing SNES and Gamecube games on the Wii.

Well, Nintendo ended up being right.

Nintendo delayed announcing anything about its controller until last E3 because they KNEW it would be copied. They were right. Rumor has it they have another huge bombshell to drop on this year's E3. I can't wait to see what it is.

The announcements about Zelda (today) and Madden (about 2 weeks ago) are amazing though.

Brilliant Article about 'white guilt'

I think we've been largely paralyzed by the ineffective politicians concerned only with appeasing the loudest Americans, despite the fact that those only represent 10% of the views of the people.

Look at our current gas/oil trouble: Politicians passed laws and regulations making it very difficult, if not impossible to build new refineries. Why? Environmentalists don't want them. Why don't we tap Anwar?? Environmentalists are scared for the Caribou...

I personally thought the PS/XBox demographic was a little older than that.

As I understand it, they are trying to target those people that WERE kids back when games like Pacman and Asteroids were created...I don't THINK that the 18-25 demographic quite fits that. Maybe 25-34. I'm 25 (26 in July) and I think I fit better into the Nintendo generation.

And do it for profit. I do not intend to watch it.
The creators of the movie did their absolute best to make it as accurate as possible. They went as far as to ask the family members of the passengers what clothing they were wearing that day. The guy in the movie that played the FAA administrator that ordered every plane out of the sky...that WAS the FAA administrator.
Every member of the families signed off on the movie. Its been stated that if even one had objected, the movie would not have been made.

To answer Warbler's question about the timing...I think its been too long. There is still a hole in New York City. In any other era of American history, new buildings would already be complete.
Too many people have forgotten how they felt that day. We need that fire back in our bellies. A movie about these events will help people remember.

Chactacters that represent you

I believe I said this once before in another thread:

I think my personality is a mix of:

1. Stanley Ipkis from The Mask. Sometimes overly generous. Clumsy/nervous around attractive women (strangers). Still enjoying cartoons. Not terribly confident in himself.

2. Adrian Monk of Monk/i]. I can be obsessive/compulsive about things, but not to the same degree as Monk. (Ex. I have every sports and Magic card I own sorted in a precise order. My book shelf is arranges shortest to tallest.)

3. Cliff Clavin of Cheers. It is amazing, staggering and disgusting for me to contemplate how much useless knowledge I have in my head. I also still live with my parents. I've got a while to go before I'm at HIS level, but for now...

4. Tim Taylor from Home Improvement. I often have to get myself the newest toys for my computer. I do restrain myself somewhat.

Have any of you guys been fired before?
Time
Never been fired. I've been with the library for 8 years this coming July (only 1 other staff member at my branch has been there longer than me), since I got out of high school. Not sure they could fire me either. I get plenty of compliments from the people that use the computers, my coworkers enjoy having me around and I think they'd have to get me to train whoever my replacement would be.

If they ever got rid of me, I imagine it would be so they could cut costs. I'm doing essentially the same job I was doing when I started, and my pay has increased by...76%. They could get some high-school fresh kid like I was.

Jenny, if I was in your position, having to come back for a couple days after being fired, I'd be very tempted to...supplement my income...before leaving. Walk out with a box of pens, a ream of paper, something like that.

My aunt's best friend does Kate Mulgrew's taxes. Well, DID her taxes anyway. She has since changed companies. But I did just get her autograph through my aunt's friend because, lord knows, I'm about the biggest Star Trek Voyager fan out there.

Also, my brother was in Tim Berton's "Big Fish" movie. It rocked. I drove him to the set every day for like 2 weeks when they were filming in the town we were living in at the time. Woo!
I've got an autograph too. She did one for me and my brother.

I can never remember if this is true or not, I've heard yes, then no, then yes and I cannot keep track...

I've been told that I might be related to Napoleon. His brother fled to Canada at some point and at least one branch of my family (I know my great-grandmother) is Canadian.

Other tiny things:
- My mother worked in the same school that Burgess Meredith attended (not at the same time).
- My mother has also worked with an immediate family member of Tim Hagan, a local politician...who just happens to be married to Kate Mulgrew.
- My great-uncle's wife is or was a team doctor for the Denver Broncos.
- Last night, I walked through the set of Spiderman 3...after hours. They are filming some stunt scenes for Spiderman 3 here in Cleveland. I went to the Cavs game last night and we walked down the street where they are filming after the game. Saw some of the MTA buses (one missing its front windshield), couple NYC yellow cabs and the rented storefronts with fake stuff in the windows.
Spoiler: There is an attack on an armored car OR something/someone escapes from an armored car.

Snakes on a Plane is described as follows (based on my memory...don't feel like hunting down the plot):

Samueal L. Jackson is an FBI agent, transferring a mafia informant across the country to testify. The mob, however, manages to sneak 300 deadly snakes on board the plane they are flying and hilarity insues.

Ok, so I made those last 3 words up, but you never know. The way everyone here was talking about it, I thought it was some kind of joke at first. Then I saw it on this list.

So, I stop by glennbeck.com and look through his page of news articles when I see "Top 10 Anticipated Films for Summer".

10. Clerks 2
9. Cars
8. The Devil Wears Prada
7. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
6. Little Miss Sunshine
5. The Break-Up
4. X-Men: The Last Stand
3. Snakes on a Plane
2. Superman Returns
1. The DaVinci Code

Looking through this list, I see 1 movie I have only a passing interest in seeing (X-Men), 4 movies I knew were coming out, 1 movie I thought was coming next year, 1 movie that I would have sworn was just a joke (Snakes on a Plane), 4 movies I never heard of and 10 movies I wouldn't shell out money to see even if I got my money back after the movie was over.

Anyone else feel about the same?

1. Obviously they couldn't use sonar, but some other similar method could be used. An energy burst...tracking a ship's wake in space particles...

2. The idea of a sonar-style device was what I had in mind.

3.I always thought that the comments made in Balance of Terror meant they didn't see each other's ships, but it appears I was misinterpretting.
I have checked a number of sites, and I cannot find anything that says they never saw each other's ships, just that there was no "face-to-face".

Romulan Wars would have been interesting, except that Enterprise created conflict with TOS.

TOS mentioned that the entire war was fought without the benefit of viewscreens...that the Federation had never see a Romulan (by extension, you'd think they'd never seen a Romulan ship as well). Well, Enterprise had a viewscreen and saw at least 2 different Romulan ships.

The movie I'd like to see would be based on Deep Space Nine. Bring back Sisko with a warning from the Prophets about something.

They could of had viewscreens, seen a Romulan ship, and not seen a Romulan themselves. How do you fight a war and never see anyone? I would think that fighting a war, you would have to be able to see the enemy ships and vice-versa, otherwise how do you fight?
Two words:

Submarine Warfare.

That is obvious...

Perhaps I should rephrase:
Can you tell me what current actor you could see playing Kirk?
Can you tell me what current actor you could see playing Spock?

See, I believe that the performances are so unique and defined already that either there will be no success finding actors to fill the roles OR they will butcher the roles to fit the actors they find.

No, no, no, no, no, No, NO NO!!!!

Who can you possibly get to play James Kirk and Spock besides Shatner and Nimoy?? If they found the flippin' Fountain of Youth and made both men 20 years old again, they shouldn't do this movie.

I think we all knew that Hollywood's nut was cracked, but this plums the depths of complete lunacy.
