Holiday Special Download
Time
How long before Lucas decides to have THIS redubbed for the Fett voice?

Lucas: Mr. Morrison, interested in a quick $5000?
Morrison: What do I have to do?
Lucas: whispering, Redub the Holiday special.
Morrison: I didn't hear you.
Lucas: louder, Redub the Holiday special.
Morrison: No way. I have standards for what I agree to work on.
Lucas: But you appeared in Barbwire!
Morrison: Yes, and Barbwire actually resembles Casablanca compared to the Holiday Special.

There were two versions?
There's also:
2 different Obi-wan Kenobis...grey hair and white hair. (I've got grey)
2 different Lando Calrissians...with and without teeth showing. (I've got with teeth)
2 different Jawas...cloth cape and the extremely rare vinyl cape. (Alas...mine's cloth)
2 different Luke Skywalkers...classic lightsaber and telescoping lightsaber. (Never had the ANH Luke...just the ROTJ Luke and the X-Wing Pilot Luke)

What OS??

Is your screensaver password-protected?
----(Yes, I've seen screensavers that disable certain keys on the keyboard as a security precaution)

If you've got 2000 or XP Pro, you may be able to open it through the 'Administrative Tools' folder.

You may be able to manually run it by typing...what is that filename...?taskman.exe? in the run command.

Am I the only one who is worried that Starkiller spends his time looking under Friar Tuck's robes?!?!?!?

Your not pinning anything like that on me...
I've never even seen the movie, nor do I have any of the toys from it.

When I first saw commercials for the 'Sherwood' Battle Wagon, I knew they were retreading the Star Wars toys, but I read about Friar Tuck at Toys R Gus.

I'm looking for the exact article right now...Found it:

I had the exact same thought. Its not the first time either.

Couple seasons ago, in fact after checking, it was exactly 2 seasons ago...the season 7 premiere.

Anubis's superweapon-equipped ship is targetting a planet. O'Neill and Carter, in an F-302 penetrate the ship's shield and attack it by launching a missile at a ventilation shaft.

Sound familiar??

What do you think of the vintage POTF Han Solo in Carbonite figure? The neck was far too big for the head.

That's far more geeky.

Is it me, or Firefox uses up too much memory?
If memory is a problem, let me recommend Opera 3.60. Runs beautifully on a Windows 3.x platform with 4MB RAM. The install file also fits on a single floppy disk.

Never trained in any fighting technique...well, in 8th grade I enrolled in an after-school wrestling program put on my the assistant principal, but we had one class, then something came up (don't know what) and we never continued.

If I were to get into a fight, I'd use anything and everything at my disposal. To quote, of all things, the movie The Happiest Millionaire:

Kev,
No hassle. The online search just took a couple minutes. I do this kind of stuff all the time for the Star Wars Combine.

greencapt,
If you want a decent summary of events, that Essential Chronology is a good book, though it includes nothing from EP2, EP3 or the New Jedi Order (Vong) books. if you want overkill, though, theforce.net has the "Ultimate Timeline".

It was discussed during the Jedi Academy series, I believe.

Here's part of the CUSWE entry that discusses it:
Quote

He was serving as an officer in the Mon Calamarian Navy until he was captured when the Empire took over Calamari, and was presented to Grand Moff Tarkin as a personal slave. He followed Tarkin around everywhere, all the while collecting information about the Imperial war machine, in hopes that he could escape and provide the knowledge to the Alliance. He gained limited knowledge about the Death Star in this fashion, enough to make him fear for the safety and future of the galaxy. When Tarkin decided to move to a permanent post on the Death Star, Ackbar was to be brought along with him. However, Tarkin's shuttle was attacked by an elite force whose goal was to assassinate Tarkin. They failed only when an Imperial Star Destroyer arrived to drive off the attackers, but they managed to rescue Ackbar in the attack. From that point on, Ackbar served the Alliance faithfully, using his knowledge of Imperial doctrine wherever possible.

I've read a good portion of the EU books at least once, most of what I've read has been 2 or 3 times. I've got a fair sized library:

Eminent Domain and Property Rights
Time
1. Warbler is right. Just compensation is required.
What changed is that before, governments (City, State, Federal) could take land only for civil uses...a highway, police station, etc. After this ruling, they can take land and give it to private citizens that can use the land for private business that would provide more tax revenue.

2. This happened a couple years ago in my city as well. The city had lined up a large development to revitalize the west side. They offered many homeowner's fair compensation, and many took it, but a handful refused. The city decided to take the homes via eminent domain, citing the homes as being 'blighted'. The people fought back, started a petition and got a referendum on the ballot, and the business complex was voted down.

The thing about this whole affair that really set the city on fire was the city definition of blighted. By the laws of the city, 90% of the cities homes are blighted. The (ex-)mayor's own home is blighted. I don't remember everything about the laws, but the one I do remember, is that if your home doesn't have an attached garage, its blight.

3. A small town in Vermont or Montana or some other low population state has already acted on this new ruling. In their town is the estate of one of the supreme court justices that ruled in favor. They want to claim his land and turn it into a combination hotel/museum. The museum would be "The Museum of Lost Liberties".

4. Using this ruling, I want to see a group get together and try to get control of the Kennedy Compound. I would laugh my butt off at that.

Gaffer Tape,
The scene was cut, she stood with a number of other senators (including Padme) to present a letter to Palpatine that discussed their distaste with his gained powers.

Now, just a handful of things about this scene that Kev created:
1. By the time of ANH, the Mon Calamari race would have been considered inferior by the xenophobic emperor. No way there would be one in the Senate. Ackbar was Tarkin's slave until he was freed during a rebel attack.

2. I'm not 100% on the time frame, so I could be wrong. I think Mon Mothma was run out of the Senate for openly supporting the rebellion before ANH. In fact, her homeworld of Chandrila was attacked because of what she said.

funniest Star Wars parody films
Time
The Animaniacs did a 22 minute spoof of Star Wars once. I haven't see it for some time. If I find it its going to be on, I'll record it.

According to the TV Tome (now www.tv.com), its called Star Warners.

1. Spaceballs was the first parody I saw of Star Wars. I enjoy it very much.
2. I saw George Lucas in Love. I saw Shakespeare in Love. I think George Lucas in Love is far better.
3. I actually subscribed to a magazine, just so I could get Troops on DVD.

"And the Empire will be defeated by Ewoks!"

"That's... highly unlikely."

A few minutes later. Luke is taking a smoke break, and Vader is leaning on the railing, sipping a cup of coffee.

"... And the force? That's just microscopic bacteria in your bloodstream called midichlorians."

"Ok, look, if you're not going to take this thing seriously, then I am out of here."
Robot Chicken also had a skit with Star Wars and Star Trek fans at a convention together. I thought that was quite good.

Second only to Bossk at this point:

I probably would have been a little higher, but I felt it was far enough into the past to not count the 'bum-bag' questions. While I still own one, I haven't worn it in many years. it was at least 10 years since I last wore one on a vacation.

Also, there wasn't a choice for "Watching Sci-Fi Channel right now".

Really? Interesting.

In our area, we had 2 main grocery store chains, Regos and Finast. In, maybe 1998, Giant Eagle bought out Regos and shortly after, Tops took control of all the Finast. That was the first I'd heard of either place.

By when I lived in WI, we had Copps, County Market, Cub Foods and a handful of Kohl's grocery markets.
(I used to love the Kohls and County Market...they had those extra tall carts and I loved to ride on the bottom area of them.)
