STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
Ady,
I said it before, I'll say it again and I'll keep saying it to anyone that asks (or even doesn't ask).

This is the best version of ANH and the only version I will ever watch from now on. I am so excited to be back into Star Wars in a big way! I was only 5 when ANH first came out so I really don't remember how I reacted to it, but I can say that I feel like I'm 5 again right now, with the excitement I had watching this.

I hope you get a bunch of rest, take a lot of time away and then, only if you want to, are interested in taking on ESB. I know that there's no one esle I'd rather see take that on.
I don't have the skill or talent to the technical stuff, but I would be glad to help in any way I can.

Adywan is the man. That's all there is to it.

Phil

Okay, so a couple of small things and maybe it's just me:

Is anyone else a little (and I do mean A LITTLE) thrown off by the sudden lack of chatter when the TIEs appear? Rebels are all chatty attacking the Death Star, TIEs appear, they go on radio silence for 45 seconds, and then they're all chatty again. It's not a big deal, but it just made me go "huh..." for a moment. Obviously there's only so much footage/sound available that can be used, and it all looks amazing! It's just a little something I did notice.

Also, when Luke tells Biggs he "picked one up" you can tell that he says "Biggs, you picked on up" but "Biggs" is cut off. Is there an available "Biggs" soundbyte that can be dropped in? I know the video isn't complete, but if Luke says "Biggs" just before it cuts to him in the cockpit to finish the sentence, it seems more complete.

Again, not a big deal and not something that's going to be distracting if they are left as is. It is still truly a masterwork.

It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case. It's just funny that I never noticed before that 3PO moved, even though he was supposed to be shut down. I was sure that Ady did that. I thought "Wow, that's so cool! He made 3PO's head move, too!" Guess not!

Ady, if you didn't touch another thing, I would still call this the version to best all other versions and it will be the only one I watch from now on.

Edit: Interesting, InfoDroid. I guess I can understand that, but, seeing it as it is in Ady's cut, it doesn't really strike me that way. But it's just another interesting tidbit of information.

Adywan,
The words just aren't available to adequately say how amazing this is. Just... wow.

I have a question that has nothing to do with the arm/flipper OR the introduction of the TIE squads!

After watching the re-edited Luke/Obi-Wan discussion, it flows so much better. It's very natural and you really don't notice just how disjointed the original is until now.

My question is, is it possible that the original story/screenplay was more along these lines but was edited to be disjointed? I say this because I watched the original scene again and, when R2 starts to show the Leia recording, C3PO reacts to it even though he previously says that he was shutting down.

In Ady's cut, it all flows perfectly so it's not an issue. Funnily enough, I didn't really notice it until watching Ady's cut because I thought that he made C3PO's head move for his version, but it's in the original cut.

Maybe it's been addressed in other forums or documentaries or edits, but I haven't heard about it before now. Just another thing that you notice for the first time, even after all these years...
