Looking forward to it.

Any news on the BD for episode II?

BD is all done, just haven’t sent the DLC to .info yet! If you want it PM me your email.

I may go straight through with episode 4 as it’s mostly already done, but I’m going to be really busy at work for the next 9 months. Definitely taking a break after 4. Might do a Rebels movie!

Interesting. I think it makes sense to cut off the story rather than require it to be completed in the comics. And in fact, hopefully your series will end more subplots than the TV series did, in general.

I must say I would be impressed if you managed to cut out all of the spider body stuff. But I'm sure it will work well however you do it.

I've cut as much of that out as I can, but unfortunately some of it has to remain otherwise the story doesn't make sense.

This is probably getting way ahead of ourselves. But seeing your recent review on fanedit, where someone expressed excitement to later see how you handle the Darth Maul storyline had me thinking. *Do* you plan on including the Maul storyline (with SpiderMaul et al?)

Absolutely. I've already done a first cut of episode 5, which will include the first half of the Darth Maul storyline. My current plan is to have it implied that Sidious kills him off at the end of the Sidious/savage/maul duel at the end of episode VII.

The first 4 movies include episodes upto the character model change half way through season 3.

Episode 2 includes Cloak of Darkness, Lair of Grievous, Death Trap, Lethal Trackdown and the Malevolence trilogy.

Episode 3 includes the Ryloth Trilogy (including the Ryloth scenes from Supply Lines), Evil Plans, Hostage Crisis and the Holocron trilogy.

Episode 4 includes the Mandalore trilogy and Geonosis Arc.

I've still not finalised the other 5 movies, except Episode 9 which will comprise the order 66 and Sifo Dyas arcs.

Finally I have an update. Been a busy month at work so my time has been limited. I also experimented with completely changing the first half of the movie after a suggestion from a test viewer. However, I couldn't get his suggestion to work.

Anyway, to wet the appetite here is the first 4 minutes, which is now completed.

So maybe the Hutlett story should have been included, but very sharply pared down; not so much of the crying baby scenes, or Ahsoka playing mother, etc.

I tried that with my first edit. It wasn't a bad film actually with all the rubbish trimmed out, and I might release it at some point. However, I just didn't have space for it in my movies series.

Some feedback on Ep1. Was viewing on a 5.1 setup if that makes a difference.

1:07:30
After I surrender line, sound of Star destroyers entering frame at high volume

1:12:10
“Really” line high volume (Anakin), with background noise

1:12:29
“master” word high volume (mid-sentence by Yoda)

1:14:55
Grievous hologram is flipped mid-sequence (Jedi swaps from left screen to right)

1:28:53
“Yes master” high volume (Grievous)

1:29:57
“We’re right back where we started” high volume (Obi)

1:46:30
“The time has arrived, we go to battle” high volume (Grievous)

There were a couple of other instances in the first 50mins, but I need to re-watch that to note them down.

Thanks. I'll take a look at these. I haven't listened to it in 5.1 which may explain why I missed them.

So here are my thoughts on Episode I. Overall I enjoyed it. Though there seemed to be a distinct focus on action over character development and I think the film suffered overall for it. Given that, I could only recommend this to someone who's already seen the show and not first time viewers. But I did enjoy the overall structure of the narrative you managed to cobble together here. Hopefully we'll see more emphasis on character in Episode II!

Thanks, and I agree about the character development. Unfortunately the main character development from the movie was tied to the Jabba storyline, which was removed.

My main dilemma with this series is going to be the balance between character development and a cohesive storyline. I've just had the first feedback for episode II and his main suggestion is to remove one of the story arcs and replace it with another to produce a tighter story. The downside to this is the removal of a lot of character development.
