This is one of those shots where the true color of the shot simply doesn’t exist in the Blu-ray. Note the magenta of the cup on the left, which is supposed to be white, still retains a magenta hue in the correction. Similarly, Luke’s dusty offwhite shirt has too much green in the highlights and too much magenta in the shadows, and the correction still doesn’t completely remove these inaccuracies.

This picture skews red but still shows how Luke’s shirt is definitely not white like Leia’s gown:

That is a good photo. If you correct for the red, it would have nice skin tones and maybe more blue to the walls in the background.

I think I’ve found what you are looking for:

Blade Runner Color Regrade (Released)
Time

Heads up, 16mm print of Blade Runner for sale on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blade-Runner-Full-Feature-Film-3-Reels-16mm-Color-Harrison-Ford-Ridley-Scott/121935705326?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D35626%26meid%3D9ef4312b511142e2ac4f0523ed001eed%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D281892263373
Perhaps this could be a useful colour reference?

Did they not do LPP in Russia?

No, from my research it seems that low-fade stock was not available until after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and that existing Russian film manufacturers at the time used obsolete equipment when making colour film.

I think that the issue was that Western products could not be imported easily or at all during the Soviet era. Once Eastman was available, local companies like Svema (a.k.a. Cbema) lost traction and went out of business.

One thing I did notice, is that it has the A New Hope subtitle in the crawl, so it’s definitely not a Technicolor print.

This does not prove that it is not a Technicolor print. During the 1981 re-release, the original crawl and flyover on all Tech prints were removed and replaced with the “A New Hope” crawl and 1981 flyover on regular Eastman stock. You can see this in the Senator screening video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEctWVF4J_w and Mike Verta has mentioned this a few times as well.

Shouldn’t the soundtrack be grey on a technicolor? Not an expert, just repeating what I’ve heard.

Are there any other samples?

It’s not a SE print that’s for sure. Some of the samples contain OUT shots and SE prints have a Dolby Digital soundtrack encoded between the sprocket holes.
This isn’t all of them, just the ones I managed to get before the ebay guy sold them: http://imgur.com/a/2FSs1

Those scans are definitely not from original exhibition prints; in the late 90s Lucasfilm distributed some limited edition film cells through the Star Wars Fan Club IIRC.

Here is a video about them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdfPhRXn_pU

On the back there’s some info “…hand cut from a master print taken from the original internegative…”. While I doubt the original 65mm internegatives for SW and TESB would have retained this much colour, the scans don’t appear modified. It seems that Lucasfilm does (or did who knows) have the originals on low-fade film stock. Oddly the cells for SW seem to resemble the Technicolor prints as they have similar colour shifts which leads me to suspect that a Tech print was involved at some point in the process.

I think this still from what appears to be a Technicolor print probably captures what the Tarkin shots should look like imo (aside from too mucg green), and which ended up being the main reference source for my latest regrade:

That still is not from a Technicolor print, it is from a 70mm cell scan that was posted on this site: http://www.jedi1.net/.

Here’s the full image uncropped:

Info Wanted: vhs, laserdisc, and other titles that aren't on dvd?
Time

I know of one: Jud (1971) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067281/. It’s an obscure Vietnam War drama film that apparently had a video release by Prism Entertainment Corporation but I haven’t seen any evidence of its existence and I can’t find any evidence of a DVD release. However I am in possesion of a VCD bootleg version of this from China.
