Hello,
I'm actually not sure about the quality in my link being better than the YouTube version. I just don't know how to download stuff from Youtube without it being too pixalated, so that's what I was basing my judgement about quality on. I tried downloading the video from YouTube using VDownloader and it looked horrible. Does anyone know any good downloading tools for that site?

I use the Videodownloader plugin for Firefox or the keepvid.com website...

However, I really would not feel comfortable sending it to anyone else. I'm sorry, reave, it's not that I don't trust you, but it's my favorite record (next to my Mad Twists Rock & Roll record, but it is really scratched up). However, my phonograph is nowhere near the quality of the single itself. It's a Sears model clearly made sometimes in the late seventies or eighties and up until August of 05 it was only used to play Raffi albums. But I just want to make sure I get some good feedback before I lug the whole thing into my living room and mess with all the cables...

Unless someone else volunteered it, the project still needs a copy of the "Mega Mix" off that 12". I'd PM dark_jedi before going to the trouble though...

Some of you guys are pretty resourceful... Any of you bloodhounds found a copy of the script, or a subtitle file? (Oh, and NOT the Unpublished S.G. Script - that's been got already...

dcfcfan:

Hmmm... The WMV of the music video is 320x240, 5.35Mb. The FLV of the music video is 320x240, 13.2Mb. I'm not an expert on video encoding (and of course there may be differences in audio bitrate), but are you *sure* the quality on the WMV is better than Youtube's?

Thanks for the link to the trailer and the other stuff. Scans of the 77-card Topps set have been procured (from ComicCovers.com)

Zeromancer and reave:

The only missing audio track at present is the 4 min 52 sec "Howard the Duck Mega Mix". (Yes, even a copy of "Don't Turn Away" with Lea Thompson's vocal - not used in the film - was tracked down!)

(Hey reave - weren't you the guy in "Diner"?)

Shaping up into quite a special SE!

NP, DJ - looking forward to the result, just like everybody else. I'm just sorry I couldn't find a copy of the film trailer, or a better copy of the music video to contribute...

Hey this is just a shot in the dark, but did anybody pick up that Brazilian DVD? Apparently, it's got English subtitles, so if somebody did get their hands on one and could rip those for us, that would ROCK!

Ahhh, it was nothin' compared to all the work you're putting in. Thanks for the ack, nonetheless...

Note to all: I double-checked the copy of the SkyTV capture that I have already and it DOES have the "tongue in cigarette lighter socket" reportedly cut from the UK "New Breed of Hero" version! It DOES NOT, however, have Bev discovering the condom in Howard's wallet... (which is unwrapped, BTW - so much for hygienics on Duckworld)

I got Dark Jedi's "TZ: The Movie" HD2DVD, which I was SO grateful to have after my own lousy attempts to convert the HD transport stream I downloaded! It seems to me I never said a proper thank you for that, so... thank you, DJ...

And if that conversion is any indication, we are indeed in for a treat!

BTW, any intention of re-adding or re-incorporating the missing shots? I'm guessing they could be taken from an LD source, matted to match, then sandwiched in? (Hmmm... something's telling me that might get a bit grainy...

Well anyway, TIA to DJ and his secret helper!

Info: Superman II Donner, and III & IV extended edits

I DO hope you've corrected that shot in the Metropolis battle scene that was flipped in the film and never corrected in any of the DVD releases of SII. For anyone who's missed it - and I don't see how you could(!) - it follows the shots of Zod catching the wall segment he's "heat-rayed" from the crane cable and Superman looking down at the crowd. Another example of the sloppiness that earned SII such disdain in my eyes. (I mean, if you're going to flip an insert shot, make sure it doesn't have any freakin' BILLBOARDS or "NO ENTRY" signs in it!)

For the record, two other things I HATED about SII:
The British accents on the children of East Houston, Idaho and Metropolis

The cheesy bit of having the helicopter "crash" behind the barn to avoid having to do a more elaborate effect

Really - don't get me started on SII! :^D

Actually, I thought that John was said to be 10 years old in the original script (as that made him a bit more vulnerable than a teen). But though the script was filmed as written (it DOES say that John is 10) Edward Furlong was obviously about 13 or 14, and I think that in T3 references to his age at that time were adjusted...

I would say that if either of the two is wrong, it is his STATED age in T2!

Definitely looks like a VHS transfer. A very nice transfer, but still VHS.

Where the hell is that nice widescreen version that was capped off of TV?

Really! I already have a (lame) VHS P&S transfer. Someone please torrent or usenet this WIDESCREEN version! I don't care about the VOX logo or the German audio... (I'll re-synch it myself.)

Years ago (before DVDR became such a commodity and broadband made it tradeable), I downloaded an SVCD copy of Howard from one of the newsgroups. It was sourced from LaserDisc, and though it was P&S, I thought it was damned good. Unfortunately, one of the 2 discs got scratched and I've been trying to replace it but every copy I've seen since has been inferior to that one...

Screenshots earlier in this thread were intriguing - chyron or no, I'd love to see the widescreen version of this "classic"!

Robinson Crusoe On Mars... a Preservation? (Released)

This one has been done. I just recently traded for a copy. (Guy I traded with was not the capper...) Rudimentary but effective menu, nice capture, commentary on Audio 2, trailer... pretty much everything the LD had to offer...

I'm a relative newbie on this board and I'm not sure what protocol is here, but I'm not just posting this to say "I have this and you don't", if you take my meaning...
