STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

You guys are too funny LOL I'll breath a sigh of relief once Ady has that camera in his hands and is producing new work, until then, thanx to all those who contributed as well :) And to ADY for taking all the extra efforts to make ESB:R so much more than originally planned! The new clip is great, love that jumpcut fix, and man sometime I forget how great Kershner and crew lit ESB, with Adys CC it looks better than alot of movies being released today.

No, PLEASE, please dont LOL Anything Ady does is his credit, I'm just doing what I can to help. I spend so much time creating art for a living that I rarely get to be a fan of something these days and this whole project is like being a kid in the 80's again.

Great work on the shadows Ady! Yeah that rail always bugged me, I think R2 could have fallen off the old version lol

You cant go frame by frame in photshop cause once you animate it the areas you changed it'll have "squiggly" un-even edges, you have to track/mask with bezier tools in a motion graphics program, such as After Effects or better yet, Mocha. ITs hard peoiple, REAL f'in hard to do it, especailly on cloth.... sometimes almost impossible without all the orig elements sperated and rebuilt/re-composited together, I know it all sounds well and easy in theory, but go rotocope cloth or hair somtime you'll see what its like. Things like lightsabers and lasers are much easier to do cause they are simple flat edged shapes, but once you have say.. young Bobas hair against a white background, HOW are you gonna trap that element? What you need is his actual green screen footage so you can color manip that seprate element in AE or Mocha. Again I use Photoshop everyday for work and I have pretty good expierience rotoscoping in AE, im telling you ships and lasers are one thing, but moving cloth and hair... THATS no fun at all and in some case impossible without un-composited elements to draw from, aside from a global color correction. However.... One small workaround you can do... sometimes... is take two versions of the same clip, color correct them so Obi looks good, and Boba looks desaturated, then mask out the Boba from the Obi clip, and the Obi from the desaturated Boba clip, hopefully the BG wont be too different to tell... but uh... to anyone who wants to try it with acutal footage, not photoshop imags, then you got my repsect.

We all should. If anybody is getting upset over this, it's not worth it! I just hate to see an otherwise promising fanedit fall short because of something like this. To me it's removing information from the original version, and that's about the lowest rung of change you can make. Since the blue color wasn't a gaffe (only the uniformity of the shade, but that is like any other color that is off from shot to shot, as applies to a lot of things in these movies), I just don't agree with a change like this, and I'm sorry if that offends anyone.

Wow disagreeing would be one thing but every other line you give you take a jab at him, coming off like a troll dude. Ady, really, you've already made perfectly clear with this guy why you've made your decisions, anymore would just be a waste of time. Better to let bygones be bygones ;P

To be fair, if he had just read the first 10 pages of this post most his questions would have been answered as well. It never ceases to amaze me how people keep asking the same basic questions over and over again.. lol oh well... back on topic.... Damn that Yoda looks good now , thx Ady! :)

Adywan... WOW... that is amazing! Simply phenomenal... this brings back soo many memories, the first time I saw Empire was when it hit VHS. The local AlphaBeta was the first store to offer rentals and they just played ESB over and over... THIS is how it looked! When the 2004 DVD's came out, well, we all know how that turned out, it just didn;t lok like the Star Wars I remembered.... Great work Ady, you haven't just shifted hues here, this is a true work of art, MUCH congrats!!!

You know concerning all these requests to modify backgrounds, I mean really? I think thats proof of how perfect Empire REALLY is, Ady said it best, other than color correction and some FX tweaks (adding MORE Walkers for example) there isn't much to change on this one. I think its a testament to the sheer amount of effort that went into ESB, which of course Lucas himself said was "unecessary".

also, it just dawned on me for whatever reason, but Lucas adding Vader walking to his ship, thus lengthening out that scene, is really weird, being the longest running joke about him is the "Faster, more intense" line. Glad to see it removed ;)

I already brought up the adding music stuff to ESB when this thread started, Ady clearly stated he only added the music to the Obi/Vader fight as a way of bridging the prequels and that he would not add any to Empire. Really,I do wish some people would read the thread a bit before tossing out ideas, especially the ones that lead to unnecessary arguments.

Oh cant wait for updates from Ady, please let them arrive soon... : )

Yeah, I'm starting to feel like this thread is filling up with suggestions just for the sake of saying something, not because it would be a real improvement. Empire needs the least amount of cleanup, and what changes it does need are more technical than artistic.

Agreed, well said : ) I await Ady's return with new goodies but other than that the real "how-to-fix" stuff wont come till Jedi.

Sound Help

So, I've been playing around with and EDIT idea, but it sort of depends on me being able to isloate the voices form the film. I ripped teh 5.1 AC3 from the DVD and DEMUXED each channel into thier own seperate files. Going into CENTER wav file I noticed the vovies were mixed with a bit of the miusic... is there any way of isloating the dialouge form there? I doubt it I know.... but dammit... anyone have any ideas?
