Do any of you know which pages contain the talk about the "green lasers"?

For the first time ever, on any board, I am now hitting 'ignore'.

Sigh.

Bravo my friend you have now entered into a much larger world... bt who is this Janskeet?? I cannot see him... lol oh yeah... "ignore" great feature for trolling.

No.. wait.. I got one better..

HEY Janskeet!!! The green lasers can be found on page 245 when you get there go forward 48 more pages down to the 3rd from last post, then back 5 more pages, 2nd post from the top. When you get there go back 100 more pages scroll to the bottom head back up 200 more pages, middle post. OK now go forward 1 page, back 20 more down 3 posts, then 75 pages forward 7 posts down back 5 pages 1 post down... almost to the green lasers... now head back one more time to the first post AND READ THE DAMN LIST OF CHANGES.

Congrats.. you in the no-prize for Green Lasers :)

Yeah the OT music is cool only thing is the editing/pace doesnt reflect the speed of the old-school Williams music. Yo me, the action feels sluggish when ran under the OT tracks... Just my 2 cents :)

I know it's different but I would actually say that that's backwards. The OT had *fewer* quick cuts and the music accented the actions on screen. The PT has the quickest cuts in the action scenes. And Williams' score in the PT doesn't have the same (for lack of a better musical term) "accents" for the onscreen action. If that makes any sense! ;)    My 2 cents.

Oh I agree about the PT music, but I think what I meant was someting Ady had alluded to before, about the editing in the PT is not the same as in the OT. Great job either way!

Chainsaw- You would never seee a Sun below you even if there were no actual earth/solid on the planet, as the sun moved to the opposite side of the gassy planet it would disappear along the same horizon line the occurs here on earth.  I know what you are saying it just doesnt make any sense whatsoever, lol Really, if you want to talk more about it PM me lets drop it this is not the thread for it.

Oh god... ok I'm done lol I'm not hi-jacking Ady's thread to argue over theoretical discussions over what a horizon line is, if you have to have it explained to you PLEASE seek an elementary art class at your local college lol if yur curious about why the world always behaves in perspective regardless of your fixed point on earth, try googling Holographic Universe.

Saw the trailer looks DAMN GOOD. I'll wait to discuss it further next week, I figure with this being all were getting for the next year why rush to the fun :P

The horizon line is not defined by having a ground plane,it is always at eye level and is relative to where you are looking from. The term horizon has nothing to do with whether you have a physical ground plane to receed from, which is why you can have a horizon line underwater or in space... even a gas giant.

There's always a horizon line, perspective doesnt stop and start on one fixed line in reality, everywher you look there is a horizon line... as Yoda would say.. "it surrounds us... binds us... ties the galaxy together" lol if you would like to study up on basic camera techniques and theory I suggest a text  book called "Shot by Shot".

You 've said you don't wanna add things "just because you can" but explain to me the real difference, that gray area, is everything absolutely necessary? Just like not everything in ANH:R was absolutely necessary. Not that I didn't think it was terrific, because it sure was. I guess the key thing is OPINION, not fact.

Far be it for me to think Ady needs any help explaining this point, but really whats your goal here? If he wants take 10 yrs to make the edit then that his perogative, if you dont agree then get a coalition of like minded people and make your own co-op edit. Not to think we cant challenge ideas here, but i'm certain Adys covered this topic ad nauseam.

Which brings up another tired topic, I'm not gonna say names, but really there have been quite a few posts recently asking very obvious questions about what Ady will or will not get to with the Empire edit, so PLEASE PLEASE if you have a question at least check the first page, watch all the clips, look thru the change list and THEN post your question if it still has not been answered. Or not... lol your choice :p

i don't want to be sitting there watching them in a few years time saying " damn i wish i had done this or that" because my whole purpose for doing these edits is to do the versions i wanted to see , and if i begin to wish i'd taken a bit more time and added something else then i would have failed.

EDIT: LOL dammit Ady beat me to it lol case in point AND I totally agree, thx for the attention to detail Ady!

Heres a quick mockup to convey what I was saying earlier...

That's it!  Looks MUCH better than the original.  I also love the spotlights emitting from the cities as well.

Thx!! The basic idea is that since its a dark world with storms and water, they use the lights as recognition patterns to be seen from above. I think underwater the cities would something more akin to the alien city in "The Abyss".

sketchrob,

I hope you don't mind, but I did a little more work to your perspective drawing to give it more of a feel like an old 70's sci-fi movie closer to the original trilogy.

This is the ultimate in fan editing, redesigning mock-ups... pure awesome lol Almost has a Bruckheimer feel... OPERATION:BLACKHOLE... *best LaFontaynne voice* In a world without practical effects, one man designs it all.... in a computer"

Vaderios asked me if the AOTC shot of Kamino was off in perspective.. and yeah it is...

Orig-

With Perspective Grid...

Basically those "STILTS" are pretty off, the back two on the far left are sitting on and head over the horizon line, so you would see under them... to be honset I never cared for the design of this shot.. looked cool in the AOTC concept art but I think it's bad CGi really.... Kinda felt the city spires should be coming out of the water, with the base city under it... rather than on stilts.. I mean we see a Kaminoian (is that right?) fly out of the ocean riding a McQuarrie whale, so why do they live over the ocean???

Well heres my 2Cents on the doanation thing, take whatever money you would have spent on LFL releases and dontate it to Ady... if he shares a clip with you then awesomesauce, otherise I think he's already proven himself  with the quailty of his work. I have in the past and will continue (donation sent) to donate to this project, Ady's earned whatever help he can get.
