Eh, that's a pretty retarded reason if you ask me, games can still be pretty fun without a story and I know for a fact that you are a fan of Raving Rabbids and the Wario-Ware games and neither of those have stories. So you, good sir have obviously lost possession of your Yiddish Cup!

Plus, Battletoads (the best game ever) didn't have much of a story...

So, I bought Wario-Ware: Smooth Moves for the Nintendo Wii, an I must say it is definitely a must play for the Wii enthusiast. It's innovative use of the Wii-mote is amazing and fun. Although you can beat the game in little over an hour, extra "random" modes make it's lasting appeal very high. I would definitely rate this game at least an 8/10 whether it's your first Wario-Ware game or not.

A Question About Projection Screen TV's.
Time
Based on the fact that I have a good idea as to who this friend is, I'd say that it's an extreme over-statement. It's true that most of the new generation consoles (at least I know the Wii does) has a "Burn-In Reduction" option, but all it does is dim the screen after a period of non-use. If you don't play it for an extended period of time, I think you should be fine, especially if he's willing to play the 360 on it. Also, if it's an LCD projection, I'm pretty sure it holds no threat.

Recreational drug use

Well, if you look at it in a kind of comparison to prostitution, it would be better off to be legalized. Personally I have no desire to do drugs, but I do feel that it would be better off that they be legalized. In areas where prostitution is legal, the prostitutes must have a license which states that they do not have any kind of STD and therefore it is legal for them to continue their work. Also, many teenagers see it as "cool" to break the law and so many might not start drugs if it was legal. Either way, if drugs were made legal, they could at least be used in a safer way.
