STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I would be willing to wait for 1080p, been out for about 32 hours and things just keep getting better ! Is the DVD9 version of ANHR still the best in terms of quality or is something else in the works I just skimmed through the last couple of pages so I thought I would ask ?

Forget the coat I dont care wether its blue or brown, as long as it is one or the other. I just hope something can be done with Luke's arm after he gets his hand cut off. The scene when he is on the weather vain at Cloud City looks like a bad party joke.

I'll check the archives for generator shots. I seem to think I have something...

Meanwhile, are you thinking of adding any product placement in the movie? This looks like it goes there

Ady has a big enough workload with this project alone, without getting side tracked about talk of two or three other projects on from here, that he may, or may not even be bothered to do in the end.

Just help him to focus on making the best he can do with what hes got.

Whoa, scrub that comment. Sounds like you may NOT have enough work to be getting on with at this pace!

How about a possible release date then ;-)

Darth Solo wins the prize for being the first to ask for a release date! Let's hear it for him!

He wins the Lando Calrissian Memorial Award for Ironic Questions!

4K is on the way, IMAX theaters are supposed to convert this year

Oh, PLEASE tell me that's not true! IMAX footage that's edited digitally needs to be scanned in at 8k to preserve all the detail (IMAX scenes for "The Dark Knight" were scanned in at 8k, while all 35mm scenes were done in 4k) - if IMAX, a format that touts itself as being the highest resolution currently possible, trumping even all them newfangled "digital formats" (which it is and does) converts to *4k* digital projection, it'll be completely pointless beyond being something projected on a giant screen, which you can get anyway if you go to a movie theater and sit in the 4th or 5th row (I saw WALL-E that way and I didn't have to strain my neck, but still could see nothing but movie :-D).

Search it there is alot of articles some with good details some not so good, scanning back over a couple of them looks like it will be a Sony 4k projectors. The reoson seems to be the cost of shooting full lenth movies with IMAX cameras so now more movies can be in IMAX format. Back to ESB talk its hard not to get off subject since most of use are all of us have the same interest movies, cinema etc...

Something else I dont know if it's been brought up before but can anything be done with Lukes arm the severed one, like in the scene when he is hanging from the weather vain at Cloud City his elbow is almost in his armpit and his forearm looks like a giraffes trunk. They could make a city in the clouds but not a good cut of hand.

Maybe it's not your processor, couldn't your video card have something to do with it? A lot of FX rendering could be video card intensive as well. I'm sure people worked with editing and compositing in HD on normal workstations when quad cores were relatively unheard of.

Its definately not my video card. After effects uses more of the processor and not the card and when you have got around 50 seperate layers & several compositions at a time, each using a different filter then thats where the problem begins. Don't forget i'm not rendering 3D. PLus there is hardly a noticable difference between 720p and 1080p with the HD sources anyway. 1080p isn't future proof either

4K is on the way, IMAX theaters are supposed to convert this year, STAR WARS 3D in 4K resolution maybe too bad not Adywan's version.

Yeah but I was just talking about home video

In the home theater market 4K will probably be what 1080p is today in about 3-4 years but my eyes wont be able to tell the differance by then. I have been saveing up for a house that I plane on haveing a dedicated theater room in projector 120-130 2.40.1 inch screen etc, but that still about 3 years away.

Off subject but a IMAX is about 16 minutes from my house and I already have tickets to The Dark knight dead center af the theater for 12:01 AM I am won SUPER MOVIE NERD...

I also like the Sith eyes in ROTS on the Emperor and they also work for Anakin in the shot when he is takening care of the seperatist since he is on a killin spree but in ESB let it alone. Also how will a 720p movie able to be burned to a dual layer disc or will you only be able to get the best quaility useing a blue ray burner, disc, player etc.

Didn't see this one in the suggestion terminal thread...

On Hoth, when the speeders are in the hangar starting to take off, a forklift was used to move them forward and up and down. Any way to re-composite/re-animate them so that they start to take off a little more natural, not so linear?

There is also a pair of cables that look to be attached to one of the snow speeders takeing off, looks like the cables are beeing pulled as the speeder moves foward.

But these are junk shops and garbage piles we're talking about. This scene makes it look like everything onscreen is seconds away from the fire. Why would it take them that long to melt the battle droids from 20 years ago? Heck, I bet that whole facility was built AFTER the Clone Wars...

Personally I saw enough Battle droids in the prequels. Why do I need to spend the rest of the OT seeing them lying around?

Is Adywan the next George Lucas that he needs a "trademark" to drop into every fan edit like the overused THX-1138 or "I have a bad feeling about this"?

*tears* Leave Britney... I mean... the Battle Droids, ALONE! PLEASE!

I agree, seeing PT battle droids in the OT only reminds me of the PT and ruins my OT experience. Burn battle droids burn. LOL guys

The Emperors eye's in ROTS seem to have more going on behind them, maybe to much is going on but personally I would like to see that carried on throughout the trilogy includeing ESB and RTOTJ. His eyes in ROTS bring a little more of a presence to the character. When you see those eyes it makes you say "damn" he's evil. So thats a change I would love to see ADYWAN and friends what do you think ? I am refering to his eyes in the above picture, right after his transformation.

Adywan the scene when R2 is outside of Yoda's in the rain on looks up in the window and whistles and toots it is a recycled wistle from the scene in episode IV when R2 refuses to show LuKe the hologram and Luke leaves the grage, when R2 is saying "do you think he likes me" I suppos that is what R2 saying, and then C3PO says "and no and I dont like you either". It's a small thing but it always stuck out as being the same response from R2. What do you think

R2 is a DROID. LOL So you're saying that all beeps and whistles that R2 utters have to be unique? Poor R2 that's a lot of pressure....

I cant help it, because my trash cans are painted like R2 and R4 and I have R2's name tattooed on the bach of my neck.

I am no particular fan of R2, but it seems like when they reused R2's sounds in the saga, they tended to use ones that 3PO gives a very clear translation of. I'm not saying it should be fixed, but it bugs me too. Like when R2 is "yelling" when Yoda is lifting the X-Wing. It sounds like he's getting shot by Jawas and is about to pass out!

LOL I just think its a funny thing to bug you , that's all....everytime you turn on your computer it makes the same sounds, or your email alert, same sound....LOL....

I don't know I just always understood that R2 is a maintenance droid with limited beeps and whistles....C3PO on the other hand is a human/ cyborg relations droid and as a consequence, has a much more sophisticated vocab....

The sad thing is I am 36 years old and I am worrying about R2 beebs and whistles, I will be a STAR WARS nerd till the day I die I guess.LOL

For those of you more knowledgable about copying HD material will the 720p version of ESB burn on a dual layer disc without a loss of resolution and then play on a dvd player that will pass a 720p single like a blue ray player or will it be best to use a blue ray dvd burner. This is the question in short form but the question really is how will I get the best performance from Adywans 720p version of ESB.
