Info: OT Bootleg DVDs
Time
Thanks, TR47. I almost e-mailed you months ago about your DVDs long before I ever found this forum. To make a long story short, I ended up buying my first laserdisc player instead. I can't say I regret doing it, because there are so many other movies besides Star Wars not available on DVD that I now own on LD as a result. However, I do need to eventually get DVDs made.

(Is there any movie out there besides Star Wars that has fans crazy enough to invest hundreds of dollars in an obsolete laserdisc player??? Lucas is nuts to not appreciate this kind of devotion to his original films!)

I have a question for either TR47 or other members who own his internet-legendary DVDs. I currently own the "Faces" laserdisc collection and was wondering how do the DVDs compare to these? I'm considering just keeping these LDs for now until technology improves with disc storage capacity, etc., to allow a perfect DVD copy that looks every bit as good or better than the LDs. Should I wait?

Does anyone have any Deleted Scenes for the Original Trilogy?
Time

Well I always thought the Luke and Biggs scene on Tatooine should be in the movie, since Luke references this conversation when he angrily walks away from his uncle at the dinner table. But if deleted scenes are going to be included, the only fair thing to do would be to include stuff like Han shooting Greedo first, Vader saying, "Bring my shuttle!," and the Lapti Nek scene. What are the chances of Lucas acknowledging THESE ever existed?

So Did George Lucas Really Rape Our Childhood?
Time
Hello everyone. I've been lurking on this forum for a few weeks and am glad I found this place. It's such a relief to find a group of people that can discuss our grievances against George Lucas in a civil manner.

Personally, I'm sick of how (on other sites) anytime someones says something less than God-like praise about Lucas, all his apologists start rushing into the thread to defend him. I guess the final straw was his recent hypocritical statement about how "The Three Stooges" should not be colorized, because they belong in a different time period. I couldn't believe there were posts like, "He's talking about adding color to black and white movies! Not adding CGI!!!" After realizing that the Lucas apologists will argue over any point, no matter how obvious it is that Lucas is contradicting himself, I decided I would treat myself to a dose of sanity over here.

There doesn't seem to be that many dissenting opinions in this neck of the woods. Well - except for Jimbo. Actually Jimbo - I love the way you say something, everyone else chimes in about ignoring you, and then the conversation continues without you even getting offended!

So anyways, here's my question for the day: I've always wondered about the expression, "George Lucas raped my childhood!" Did someone ever REALLY say that? I mean, say it and was serious? My theory is that the Lucas apologists were the ones who created this phrase to categorize us as a bunch of whiners and detract from the valid points we try to raise.

Or maybe the person who first said it is a member of this forum - in which case I would like to meet this famous person who is so often quoted on the internet.
