I’m very happy with the Beyerdynamic DT 770. They aren’t the prettiest headphones you can find, but the sound is great, they are super comfortable and they are built to last. I have the 250 ohm version and my current laptop can power them without problems (but I’m using an external soundcard anyways), my phone and mp3 player both are a little quiet.

Since they are far below your budget of $330, you should also get a soundcard with headphone amplifier, if you don’t already have one, as you will notice the difference to cheap onboard cards (even more so if you spend all of the $330 on even better headphones) and the headphone amp will definitely power the 250 ohm (or possibly even higher impedance of more expensive headphones).

If you want more mobility, you can also get a version with 80 ohm. (There are also versions with 32 and 16 ohm, but generally, you’d want to go as high as possible and 80 ohm should be fine, even for phones, if you don’t plan to listen at extreme volumes.) In that case you’d still want a dedicated soundcard for your PC, even if you don’t need it for the volume.

I forgot to address sound cards in my first post. I agree with Frank. I suggest you take some of that budget and get yourself a decent external USB DAC/headphone amp. Massdrop carries a bunch of those as well. I have both my headphones and desktop monitors hooked up to a USB DAC/amp and it smokes the motherboard’s built-in audio.

What amp do you use?

There’s no need to go this far if all you’re looking for is a better DAC/amp than what your computer provides, though. I wanted something both to drive my headphones and to send line level audio with volume control to my powered speakers. Local FLAC playback is outstanding because it skips Windows’ audio processing entirely, and the network capabilities are a nice bonus (Spotify is CD-quality when played directly through this).

Wow, that thing seems great. But, like you said, I’m just lookin for a good DAC/headphone amp. Any suggestions? I don’t have much experience with em.
Been looking at the Dragonfly series. I’m looking for something solid state in the $200-ish price range and those fit the bill. Reviews sound good.

Either it is in the stadium or it is not a halftime show. It is just a show that happens to take place at the same time that it is halftime at the game.

I’ll agree. If the people sitting in the stadium can’t watch the halftime show live, it ain’t a half time show, it’s an intermission for those watching at home and it should look and sound like this:
Intermission

At $330, they better have good sound. The headphones I usually use are less than $20.

At the risk of threadcrapping…this. I don’t get you fancy headphone people.

And I don’t get earbud people.
I work with audio as a hobby, so sounds is very important. But even when I didn’t, I’ve always wanted to have the best sound possible from any listening device.

Frank has made some VERY good points on sound cards! And I agree that you don’t need to spend mega bucks for great sound.

I don’t think we need important things happening all the time.

Excellent point. The ST could have been smaller stories that are just as engaging. That’s just what I’d have wanted out of a ST following directly after Jedi.

Anybody else think it’d be cool if TFA was titled Ep. 10? Even if a middle trilogy was never made (and I’d hope it wasn’t), it would inspire imagination the way titling ANH Ep. 4 did and be a cool way to acknowledge that some important things have happened in the meantime. Maybe just me.

People who are mad that things got turned upside down in the ST didn’t truly want the ST to begin with (and that’s okay).

That’s not true. Just because someone didn’t want things reset to our heroes being a small band of rebels against a huge empire again doesn’t at all mean that they didn’t want more stories. It’s not as if there’s no other story to tell.

More members of Emperors species.

They’re called “humans”. It’s hard to pronounce.
;p

So why are they pasty white like Palpatine? Is it contagious?

They probably don’t spend much time on the beach what with the whole Darkside thing they got goin’ on. We never see them while the sun is on that side of Endor. Probably sleepin’ in their evil beds during that time to arise at dusk to continue there pasty-white evil ways.

Chocolate is boring because it’s everywhere and everyone loves it and we’re swimming in it.

Chocolate is Frinks sand.

Wait, what were we talking about again?

S’mores, man! I know it’s the weekend, but focus!

JEDIT- ok, so it seems we’re supposed to be talking about starwars or something. My subject is better though.

She thinks it’s Leia anyway even without knowing she’s his sister because of them communicating with the force at the end.

This is what everyone I’ve shown the movies to came away with too. A couple of em even called it when the communication thing happened. "OOH! So she’s gotta be “the other”, right?"
That she’s also Luke’s sister was a groaner almost every time. I’m interested to find out how she takes that one.

Well, another forum I was on just said the ROTS novel says that Emperor wasn’t disfigured by his lighting but the lighting made him drop the illusion and his real look came out. So it looks like I might have been right about Emporer being a different species after all, also there is this:

Possibly more members of his species.

Yep. Humans. 😉

The combination makes it best. They all complement each other. A Han character would be more dull if there was no Luke or Leia to balance it out and vice versa. I like them all for different reasons.

Best answer so far.

It’s a bad answer! Of course the combo is what makes the film great, but the question is: Which one do you like best?

Wrong! It’s not a bad answer, it’s a bad question with no correct answer except that one. :p

It takes graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate to make s’mores, therefore they are all three equally important to the s’more.
The chocolate is made even better by the marshmallow and graham crackers, but is clearly the best one of the three.
Han is the chocolate.
:p !
