Because flight sims aren’t “in” right now.

I’d think a revamped X-Wing vs TIE Fighter could change that. And with the success of R1, I’d think a game where you decide to join the Rebels or Empire and start a “career” would be popular.
I’ll admit that I’m in no way in touch with the current gaming market though.

Sidenote, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter VR would be the only thing I can think of to get me to throw money into VR. That would be amazing.

I played some of The Force Unleashed and, while it was kinda fun, it didn’t feel like Star Wars at all. The cut scenes were unintentionally funny and Vader comes off like a dumb punk.
So, while it might be a fun game, I couldn’t call it a good Star Wars game.

I just don’t think it works in this movie. Seeing further destruction adds terror and emotional weight, which would actually be troublesome with how quickly the movie moves on.
It needs to be as it is- powerful, but brief and detached.
