And the franchise already sucks without this remake. The 1984 Ghostbusters is the only thing with the title that’s slightly watchable*.
Excuse me? Both animated series were great, the video game basically was Ghostbusters 3 and pretty dang good. And I’m just starting into the IDW ongoing comic series but so far it’s been really good too.
That’s fine if you think so, but it’s no fact. I was the target age group for The Real Ghostbusters cartoon in the 80’s and never liked it. It’s nothing like the movie. I’m too old to have any interest in the other kids show. The video game was lame. It was nice to hear the original cast, but Murry’s delivery sounds SO forced and the script mostly repeats lines from the films.
It’s fine if you enjoy those things, nothin’ wrong with that at all, but none of the other Ghostbusters products capture the tone or feeling of the 1984 movie at all and that’s fact.
Dreams are what I like to call brain junk: They are just the result of the brain trying to reorganize information during it’s daily off time. In other words, it’s just a hallucination. If there were a dream recording machine, what you would see would probably make no sense at all. Humans always want to build stories and structure around things that don’t have much story and structure in the first place. So, when someone remembers a dream in great detail, they are most likely build a non-existent and made up story around a general feeling.
And what exactly do you have a doctorate in, Dr. yhwx?
But if Ghostbusters IS a better movie than Ghostbusters looks… then isn’t that what we have?
And the franchise already sucks without this remake. The 1984 Ghostbusters is the only thing with the title that’s slightly watchable*.
*haven’t seen 2016
Thanks, guys. I’m doing pretty good, considering.
It wa the best possible scenario really. Health took a sharp turn for the worse yesterday, he was gone early today. I’ll be lucky if my end is that smooth and peaceful.
Ghostbusters (2016)
I think when they’re a little older, my daughters will LOVE this.
That’s the kind of thing I’ve been hoping to hear from people.
I know it’s not for me, and I really couldn’t care any less about that. What I’m hoping it is, is a movie for the future generation so to speak.
The things I already don’t like about it are my problem (read: no problem).
My nickname (online and IRL) is Ray. Inspired by Dan Akroyd in the original Ghostbusters, I started going by that and refusing to answer to anything else, when I was 4 (1985). It stuck. Many people I’ve known for years have no idea what my real name is, or even that Ray isn’t my real name.
That’s all fairly unrelated, but your friend here has been drinking. Your welcome.
I’m drunk. So sorry if this isn’t spellchecked, gramatically correct or interesting to you, but I thought it was nice and worth sharing.
I had to put my cat down today. He’d been my buddy for 13 years. We were very much a team. Nobody in real life knows me without knowing Dresden. Han & Chewie, Ray & Dresden. That kinda thing. His health was in decline for the past couple years, but he still ate and drank regularly and came to me for attention several times a day. I wanted to keep him around as long as the majority of each of his days was happy. Yesterday his health took a severe nosedive.
Tonight many friends and a surprising amount of slight acquaintances from the past 13 years met to celebrate his little cat life and to wish me condolences. It was really very nice. That so many people Showed up to show love and support over something that probably means little to nothing to them in their daily lives and with nothing to gain for themselves and with only hours of notice on a night that they certainly had other things to do… it’s left me quite overwhelmed. It the best way.
People can be really cool.
Good job people.
Hey FanFiltration! Nice to see someone else listens to lounge! I love all things tiki!
I’m loving the new footage. I love that the little furry fella is practical(!). I love the new poster.
I’m really on board with this!
“Karate Farmer”
Awesome.
YHWX is dead wrong.
FanFiltration’s last four posts are full of win.
Possessed is dead on.
How many Don Henley threads do we need?
I already started the only Don Henley/Eagles thread we need.
Letterman loved drums
And I loved his drum loving.
Talking about the albums artwork is part of discussing the album.
Have we found whether or not you know what am album is?
I love Fury (not furry!)
Dah!
I think The Floating Eye of Death is by far their weakest.
I think it’s one of those things where the memories the music brings back is better than the actual music.
That and Giant Robot Bird Head kicks ass.
no horns anymore
That took the wind out of it for me. (ha.)
I mostly bounce between Furry of the Aquabats and Vs. the Floating Eye of Death.
I was disappointed with Charge, but Fashion Zombies was a cool song. I haven’t heard anything since that, but I know they’ve had a few releases.
^HOORAY!
Frink’s such a nobody that he has to remind people to make fun of him just so he can gain some sort of human interaction.
Happy birthday buddy!
Leftover aotc material?
I always had a lot of leftovers. Could never finish the whole thing.
I always ended up throwing them away, too. As bad as it was fresh, it’s even worse the next day.
After Empire, just watch O Brother Where Art Thou?.
Problem solved!
This thread is for me like the Politics thread is for others. It makes me not like people I’d otherwise like.
I disagree. The weathered look just makes it look worse to me. I don’t really like the font either. The logos only make it worse. I think the environment, poses, and positioning are good though.
SOUNDS OF SILENCE – SIMON & GARFUNKEL
ALBUM RATING: 8/10
ALBUM COVER RATING: 5/10
I really love that album cover. It looks like it was made, videotaped and then a picture was taken of the tv screen while the videotape played. I also love the fonts, colors, positioning, poses, expressions, movement, logos and landscape.
