What Special Edition changes (if any) did people like?

I have a few I enjoy in each movie. ANH- I enjoy the wide shots of Mos Eisley, it really opens up the city. There’s a few parts of it that aren’t too necessary, but the shots showing the vastness of the city are good. The clang when the trooper hits his head and the second “open the blast doors” are great. ESB- The added Wampa, some people argue that its not necessary, that it’d scarier without it, but it’s not like Jaws, where the beast is the main problem of the movie, its only in the movie for 5 minutes. The added Cloud City scenes are good. ROTJ- I actually enjoy the beak of the Sarlacc, because they also added more tentacles, and it looks more alive, before it was just a sand hole. The extra celebration scenes are cool, get so see planets celebrating the death of the Emperor. This isn’t a SE change, but I’m probably one of the few people who enjoy Vaders Nooooo. Now, the first one isn’t necessary, but I like the second one because it echoes throughout the Throne Room.

If all of this is to be read sarcastically with Mike Stoklasa’s mocking millennial/Internet reviewer voice, then I agree.
If not, I do not.
Also, how is Vaders “NOOOOO!” in ROTJ not an SE change?

Machete Order? mmm

I would just go with release order. Star Wars is barely a “”""“saga”"""" anyway. The prequels don’t mesh with the OT at all and the ST is kind of a sequel reboot anyway. The idea that all of the Star Wars movies even remotely fit together in any type of order doesn’t work in my opinion.

I pretty much agree.
I like R1 and think it works well as a prequel/lead-up to SW’77, but only for people who are already Star Wars fans and wanna see a little backstory.

Reservoir Dogs (1992) ★★★★

Fantastic! … and kind of depressing.

I decided to try and watch all of Tarantino’s movies in order, so one down.
I’m not sure when I’ll have three hours free for Pulp Fiction, though.

Pulp Fiction is my fav. from Tanintino and one of my top 5 favorite movies.

Argh! Makes me so mad to check his FB page and see idiots commenting that Ady is somehow scamming people for a new laptop. Effin’ dumpster-heads!

(That’s why I don’t have comments on the site)

And why I don’t use it at all and am super thankful for your wordpress page!

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

Nor did his acting coach. He was terrible child actor. There were plenty of other kids who could have done a great job. Good child actors aren’t that rare a find and there’s more than one better choice in the BTS casting clips! Every line Jake delivers is truly terrible and not just because of the writing. “Sandstorms are very, very dangerous.” That’s not a bad line on it’s own…

Also, along this vein, casting him younger and expecting him to act older while casting Natalie older and expecting her to act younger was a terrible choice. This comes off incredibly creepy during their scenes together.

An American Icon is no more.

Though it’s a shame to see the death of an American icon, I hope this leaves more room for smaller circus acts to pop up. It is my understanding that circus culture - carneys, families traveling together, etc. - is still at least partially alive.

Many traveling carnivals still do fairly well. I have an old friend who travels with a carnival. He’s been doing it for about 10 years I guess.
I’m sad that the Big Show is over. There’s really nothing in modern life that replaces it, either.
