Are The Prequels That Bad?
Time

Burdokva said:

I applaud Lucas for trying to push cinematic technology but even with everything about them as-is, AotC and RotS would have been better movies if had stuck with actual film, real sets and props instead of going full-on, bluescreen only.

They’d still be just as bad. Real sets won’t fix a broken story. Real props won’t fix bad writing. Real film won’t fix bad performances.
If the films had a well plotted story, good writing and good performances the lousy effects would be forgivable. It doesn’t work the other way around.

Actually, there are some incredibly handsome and awesome bald men. For example: Patrick Stewart, Bruce Willis, Sean Connery, and Vin Diesel depending on the lighting.

Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel

Lol, love that whole episode.

Love that whole series!

Have you ever tried the MSU-1 hack that replaces all in game music with symphonic versions? It’s an emulator hack that lets you replace the music in SNES games with PCM wav files. (I’m actually working on a pack myself for the Mega Man X games to have my brand of metal as a soundtrack, but that’s off topic and I’ll post more about it when it’s done) It’s pretty rad. And easier to work than you’d think.

That sounds great! I gotta check it out.
I play it with a mod that makes Link’s pink hair blonde. The pink hair has bothered me since 1991.

I’m a few hours into Wind Waker HD now. So far, it’s great. I can see why people complained about the slow sailing on the GC version, but the new Swift Sail takes care of that and it’s available pretty early on.

Is it a Wii game? Then it probably sucks.

Skyward Sword is my favorite game of all time!

CLARIFICATION: is a Wii port? Then it probably sucks.

I prefer the Wii version of Twilight Princess to the the GC. Is that considered a port?

Agreed that this would be great, just as the battle droid was great. U-Wings parked in the Yavin hangar (though not flying out to combat, wrong type of mission for that) would be great too.

I like all of this. But, one could theorize that they only had two U-Wings and both went down at Scarif.

One could also theorize that all K2 droids were removed from Imperial Service immediately following review of footage from Jedha and Scarif demonstrating they can easily be reprogrammed and are thus a security risk.

I mean, one could

Or that we don’t see them in the 3 hallways we see in ANH.

Hah, now there’s a ridiculous, unlikely, improbable scenario.

Yeah, maybe Frink can use that for his edit. 😉

I can’t imagine anyone forgot Steal My Sunshine. It played on the radio on a loop alternating with Closing Time every day.

Ok granted but I didn’t think anyone ever knew the name of the band, or that they had an actual album, or that anyone else would still be listening to it.

Speaking of which…

Is that girl still pregnant? 😉

I’m with Ender on the surprise and liking you since you first walked in, Handman. You make great contributions to the conversations around here and seem like a cool guy.
As far as advice goes, you’ll be on my mind and if the words come, I’ll post 'em up. Hopefully the general encouragement helps!

Adding a K-2 droid to the background of a scene in the Death Star isn’t at all “adding random nonsense” like Lucas did.
You could say that the battle droid Ady added to the sandcrawler is closer to that kind of tinkering, and even that isn’t the same at all. These small changes can help thread the galaxy together.
