Noble6 (or Noble 7?) has been busy again… 😃
more top work here - http://imgur.com/gallery/wpfbZ
I really love this guy’s/gal’s Star Wars stuff.
I also LOVE the score.
Agreed. That so many find it underwhelming perplexes me.
I’ve still only watched R1 the one time in the theater, but there were several times where I thought "I like this music."
I don’t need it to be music I wanna go home and listen to. I never put on any of the SW soundtracks (except Princess Leia’s Theme on occasion), it just needs to work in the movie while I’m watching, and this score nailed it.
I mean at least we get out first look at TLJ tomorrow…That’s something at least.
It’s something to some of you. I mean, I hope it looks great and I hope the movie turns out to be one you love, but it’s no comfort to me.
I’m dying to hear the slightest bit of good or bad news from MVerta right now. He’s been too quiet lately…
Same here. I understand why he’s been keeping a low profile lately, but I’m dying to hear from him once Celebration is settled. Though I’m pretty sure if the Mouse don’t buy, we’ll never see Legacy.
“Nuh-uh!” “Uh-huh!” “Nuh-uh!” “Uh-huh!” “Nuh-uh!” “Uh-huh!” “Nuh-uh!” "Uh-huh!"
Glad to see this thread is still the same 'ol thing.
Nah, you read it.
Then what happened?
^ I only watched it once, but Tucker & Dale was very fun.
Good to see things moving along, Ady!
(strange that a certain user who assumes the project is dead every other day has nothin’ to say when there’s an actual update)
TV’s Frink said:
No, it’s how George Lucas imagined a young man would express unrequited love. Unfortunately Lucas can’t wish away his bad dialogue or crap directing.Lucas didn’t write the romance. He hired another screenwriter for that. Don’t blame George for it.
Even if that’s true, George looked at what this other writer wrote and approved. I’m not sure which scenario is worse… And either way, George is to blame. He had total control.
So what’s keeping some of you hopeful about an OOT confirmation? I haven’t seen anything that gives any hope for this.
John Landis and savingstarwars.net
Could ya give more any details?
I want to believe…

I wish the music on Jabba’s yacht wasn’t “lost”. I really dig it. It matches the sounds the bar band in SW was playing, but it’s different enough to sound like a different band playing the same genre. Lapti Nek also works as “SW universe music” for me, even if it’s much more disco than the other “in world” music we hear.
Happy Inception Day to Leon Kowalski!
^ I agree.
Jabba is great (except that his mouth flapping up n’ down doesn’t match the sounds he’s making), but there are a lot of half-assed rubber masks that are too close to the camera and stupid, unbelievable designs like the blue elephant.Of all the goofy aliens in Jabba’s palace, you pick on Max Rebo? I’ll take Max any day over the fat frog they added for the special edtion, who appears to be sitting on a crapper. 😉
I don’t watch the SE. And the blue elephant clearly stands out as looking fake and silly.
I think you’re confusing his species with Hooter from Captain Eo. Both are blueish, and play a mean keyboard, so it’s understandable. 😉
That thing looks much better than the blue elephant in Jabba’s band!
In spite of Leia’s wisecrack, there are short troopers in the OT.
I’m not seeing the shorties. Can someone kindly point them out to this feeble old blind man?
JEDIT: Ooh! I see em! But maybe Luke is even shorter than those two?
^ I agree.

Part of the problem is not that the masks were “half assed”. They were probably never meant to be seen in closeup. They are no better or worse than what was in the cantina scene.
Yeah, they’d look ok from a distance. That’s why I said they’re too close to the camera.
There really aren’t many shots/creatures in the bar in Star Wars that don’t work for me. The obvious budget restraints have already put the viewer in a different mindset before we get to the bar scene and the low lights, distance, ect that the creatures are shot at make most of em work. With RotJ, it’s clear that the budget has gone waay up compared to SW, yet there are many more shots/creatures that look very cheap and lazy in comparison.

It’s not. The pic in the bottom right corner is from a real ad. The text and the top are fabricated.
Do they not deserve the chance to walk down memory lane with stories and references from their favorite moments?
They do, and they can do it by watching the prequels.
Valid point. But couldn’t the same be said for the OT then?
If Disney made the new trilogy in PT era and fans criticized; would the answer “you can watch the OT” be a satisfactory one for you as a lifelong fan?
But we can’t watch the OT. There’s the rub.
the prequels, do they really deserve to be forgotten acts of the past?
Yes.
But can you say the same about this statement: the fact that there are kids out there who - for them - the Prequels are just as important for them as the OT may be for you. Do they not deserve the chance to walk down memory lane with stories and references from their favorite moments?
Sure they do. But the movies have no real cultural or historical impact. If you like em cause ya grew up with em, that’s fine. Reminiscing on things we loved as kids can be fun. But the PT did nothing to earn a positive place in the collective conscious.
They really are just some dumb movies.
the prequels, do they really deserve to be forgotten acts of the past?
Yes.
The best way to handle it, IMO, is to have Leia’s role fade away naturally into the background due to all the other things going on. Then, have her show up again at the end of IX.
I really hope they don’t kill Leia. There’s no way to do that tastefully now. And it’s not like she needs to be at the forefront of the story.
Ugh. That ROTS dashboard doesn’t look like Star Wars at all.
