I have to agree with some others here. The EU enriched the star wars universe & made it bolder. Some of the newer books are as slow as a snail though.
Comparing star wars & star trek is like comparing apples to oranges - they're both fruit but completely different. Both are great stories with great films.

DuracellEnergizer Its statements like this that were uncalled for. I admit when I'm wrong & I came here bitter & posted rudely & have apologized for it more than once. I like the OT better as well & the changes just don't bother me, eventhough some of them weren't for the best. And as I said on another thread unfortunately I was doing what I was bitching about - bitching about other fans. If it offended you that I accused you of not being a true fan & for being a hater then for that I apologize. You wont get this post sence you've put me on ignore so perhaps someone will let you know that I've admitted that I was wrong & have said sorry.
Didn't want to offend by using foul language, which I use quite a bit. I try not to use it on forums. I apologized earlier for sounding rude & doing exactly what I'm complaining about & I apologize again. People here are not rude & hateful like others I've come across. I posted before really checking out the site & for that I was wrong. I guess I've strated onto the dark path & unfortunately have begun to sound like Anakin.
You DuracellEnergizer are the type of fan I'm talking about. You don't like what Lucas has done to star wars that's fine. He has done things I don't think he should've done as well, but I don't cry about it. I still like the movies, flaws & all as I've said before. But its people like you that piss me off. Instead of just disagreeing with me you get hateful & nasty about it. From what I've heard & read around the net its your generation that cries about Lucas raping your memories. So since I'm not offended by the changes he's made to his movies or by the prequels I guess its you that is getting taken from behind. I would've liked discussing this rationally or even heatedly debated, but like all haters you had to get nasty.
I like the original trilogy better as well, at least better than eps1 & 2. Ep3 is almost as good as empire but comes up just short. I don't go to other forums because they gush over star wars & wont listen to any criticism of the films at all. I highly enjoy eps1 & 2 but they are flawed & I acknowledge the fact. Fantards, as DuracellEnergizer so quaintly put it, freak out when you say that & I have no desire to talk to them any more than I do haters. If you don't like the prquels or the newer versions of the OT that's fine. I just don't see why people have to be hateful about it. It doesn't offend me that some people don't like some of star wars - what offends me is the way some people express their dislike.
I came off sh*tty & for that I apologize. Din't mean to sound so rude. Just looking for people that want to discuss the films without talking about how GL destroyed his movies & their childhoods. Everywhere you go it seems that's what people want to do. Just want to talk about the great story, that dispite the flaws, is still great. Just tired of arguing. Everywhere I look there're people claiming to be fans hating on star wars for one reason or another. I agree there're flaws in some of the films & some of GL's decisions haven't been the best, but i love all six films regardless of those flaws. And I don't care which version I watch. In my mind its still all star wars. I just want to talk to someone that feels the same way, but I have yet to find anyone that feels the same. It seems you have to like one version of the films or another & god help you if you like the prequels. I mention I like the prequels & fans that were there in the 70's scream that I'm stupid. That's where my anti-hater mentality has come from. I was born in 81 & didn't see star wars until I was 5 in 86 so maybe that's why I can watch any version of the films & not feel that my childhood was raped. Anyway, I didn't really mean to rant just want to find fans that feel like I do.
Hi, I'm new here myself. Looking for fellow fans of all six films. I have no interest in talking to haters that call themselves fans. I don't care what version it is or who shot first! If it's star wars I'm there. Hope there's at least one other out there that feels the same way.
I said all six films. I can't defend the Holiday Special. But i also won't talk sh*t about it.
