Last I saw BigRob was suppose to email meedermow a list of stuff not on DVD and are exclusive to laserdisc, I'm not sure of the status. I for one have no problem buying and capping the audio needed either so I'm just waiting on the next project I can help on.

I'm not aware of a complete list of commentaries that are not on dvd, I've tried to make something using Yahoo Tubes to parse info from IMDB but it looks like it will have to be a manual affair. This is from 2003 but I found some stuff here:

My copy of Carrie Criterion should be here today or tomorrow, though I do not have anyway of transferring the unmatted video I can capture the audio. If you know of an R1 you want me to pick up the LD for next meedermow let me know. BTW looks like we got number 63 on that list =)

I'm posting this here since it went so fast but is there an interest in transferring all the Criterion commentaries/isolated scores that never made it to dvd from those involved with this project? I only ask because I like to pick up the criterion lasers with features that aren't going to make it to dvd and have the time to grab the audio for these but not to do syncs and menus etc. Right now I got a package on the way with Carrie Criterion Ed. which lists Commentary and Music & Effects tracks also according to IMDB this is unmatted to 1:33.1 which means it's opened up unlike all the other releases.

Ok just capped the score, since it's mono I capped both the score and original to help you sync it up. If you want I can pif with both those aliens dvd's for you so you don't have to wait forever for those to finish as well.

The difference is there is now a high resolution source to do a proper anamorphic transfer of the movie, the extras however will still have to be sourced off the LD.

I can see what I can do about getting the isolated score this week, who's doing the sync on this? Should I sync it up to the Columbie/Tri-Star CE or is someone going to preserve it off the Criterion LD?

Actually I was able to check today, I have the Matinee LD that's 3 discs and lists MANT along with Atomovision, Insects and X-Rays, The Great E-Mant-Cipator, Iprison-Mant, A thing Called Bill, Look out behind you! and The mant in the white suit. Let me know if I can help out in anyway.

I noticed there are 2 versions of this on the Criterion website, I have the Taxi Driver (CLV) 109A version which lists the Isolated musical score and not a commentary unfortunately. =(

I think I have most of the NOTLD DVD's, the old Elite, the 30th, the Millenium and that one that has an MST3k soundtrack. If it's just the commentary I would be glad to sync up the tracks to whatever transfer.

I have the 720p h264 versions, however they are at a fairly high compression. The .ts files would be the best to work off of as if you are making a DVD; MPEG2-MPEG2 has been done forever, h264-MPEG2 is kinda iffy, just look at the howard the duck thread, and you might wanna brush up on ProCoder as that seems to be the tool of choice for h264-MPEG2. I think the 720p h264's fit about 4 eps a DVD, let me know if you need em. *sorry if this doesn't sound right, just stumbled into work and the coffee is still brew'n*

There's a known issue with UHD, they always show DD 5.1 but there's only sound coming from the left and right channel sometimes. Only way to be sure is to listen, or decode all the channels to mono and test.

*EDIT* Just checked my copy, extracted the last half of the movie to ac3 then used BeSweet to create 6 mono wav files, nothing on the rear surrounds or center only the front 2 channels.

Yes there was a sync posted for this particualr file, I believe the stream was clean so all you would need to do would be extract the stereo AC3 from the .TS file, I use DGIndex, find the delay between the 2 files using WavPad add or subtract the delay that is on the original stereo file name from DGIndex and run it through AC3 Delay corrector. As for Muxing, I've only heard of MP2TSMS that can mux TS streams and that is mad $$$
