I only saw RO once, but I have to say that except for the ending, I really don’t remember much about it.
The only things I remember specifically was the CGI Grand Moff Tarkin and the CGI Carrie Fisher. Everything else is vague, like everyone dying.
Yeah, that was another thing I didn’t mention. It’s obviously in reference to the character (as played by Daisy Ridley). It’s not like they randomly did some photoshop job of her minding her own business at a restaurant or grocery store or something.
Hating the movies and hating the characters isn’t toxic. I remember when big fans of the prequels smeared people like us with these exact same statements. Being a toxic fan is when you’re insulting and berating and harassing the people making the movies or the people that like them.
I don’t know where mind reading comes into it. It was definitely one of my least favorite parts of TFA, though.
I don’t understand this notion that a thread can be ruined or “driven into the ground.” Even if it doesn’t go as planned or gets derailed for a while, it still exists. How is it tainted for all time because of that?
Photoshopping Daisy Ridley’s face onto a muscle body isn’t necessarily toxic. It could be funny if done right. It’s definitely fair game. I’ve made fun of a ton of actors in my day. Why are they off limits?

Obama wasn’t liberal, the right-wing media and the Republican party just convinced conservatives that he was. They screamed “Socialist!” for eight years. Conservatives genuinely think that the Democratic party is liberal even though it is corporate as can be. It’s kind of socially liberal, but I have no tolerance or respect for social conservatives these days.
Every living president hates Trump, W. included. That doesn’t mean there is no trend.
There are historical events and reactions and counter-reactions to them that obviously bring us to a place that Americans would vote for Trump, first in the primary and then in the general election. I only object to the silly one-sided logic of Bush naturally led to Trump. The rejection of moderate respectable people like McCain and Romney also got us to this point.
Obama was a moderate and respectable person. Those moderate respectable people didn’t mobilize the Republican base. Trump did. That says something terrible about Republicans.
I honestly didn’t even care much then.
He was another step in the direction of Trump, especially when you consider how proudly devoid of intellectual prowess he was.

Palin was almost as bad as Trump. Really when you think about her popularity, Trump should be no surprise.
The main difference was that she had no power. She might also have not been so obviously “ist” on a bunch of stuff but I honestly can’t remember. I’m assuming she didn’t grab anyone by the pussy, at least, though I can’t confirm either.
Politically she had some experience and clout and she was morally (at least on a personal level) less repugnant, but her insanity and demagoguery were very much a precursor to Trump. She was also represented a lot of what would become the Tea Party. You may not remember, but her being the White House, even just as VP, was nearly as terrifying as the prospect of Trump.
I only had one time. I don’t remember any of them but I do remember that other than the girl and the robot they all looked more or less the same so I couldn’t even keep track.

They also don’t need anywhere near as many characters as they have. Rogue One had far too many indistinguishable characters.
Wearing a MAGA hat can mean a lot of things, some of them being “I’m a racist” and “I’m a xenophobe” and “I’m a misogynist.” Personally I wouldn’t wear something that open to interpretation.

Then again I wouldn’t wear an Obama shirt in public either. I’m not looking for attention.
If you did then I’d have to assume you’re a corporate centrist that only pretends to care about the common man. Or maybe you’re a leftist that does care about the common man that doesn’t realize Obama is a corporate centrist that only pretends to care about the common man. Too much room for interpretation.
