“I think i’ll call you… hmmm… Vaaader. Yes, Vader”

I forgot about that. That was so terrible

Did that actually happen? I remember some pretty terrible dialogue from ROTS, but I don’t recall that specific exchange happening.

Yes it did. The “hmmm” was added, but that’s how he got his new alias, right after he killed Samuel Jackson

Frink, you are being a total troll now. All impscum did was carry a funny joke, just like I did, then either you were being dull and didn’t get the joke, or you purposely trolled everyone here.

No, imperialscum has been offering completely unwarranted conceit ever since I can remember. Sometimes it only takes one stupid statement to push people over the edge after years of nonsense.

The films weren’t even very realistic, come to think of it.

I fall into a weird category of moviegoers in that I didn’t care that Dark Knight Rises was unrealistic and crazy, but I’m also glad that it didn’t follow the comic books. I love action movies, which is why I also liked the Burton films, which were so weird and nothing like comic books either (I think Batman murdered a few people in both). Superhero movies just aren’t films I enjoy, and I can’t put a finger on why. Most of them aren’t bad by any means, I just don’t care for them. I did like Antman though since it was basically treated like a straight-up parody, which made it a lot of fun for me.

I didn’t know Ledger had died until after seeing the movie (I’m so damn out of the loop!), and I thought he was great. I (generally speaking) hate superhero movies, especially after this recent bombardment of superheroes and superhero sequels. I probably enjoyed the Nolan films so much because they felt more like action movies than superhero movies.

In the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, four children and at least one of the parents were killed in various gruesome ways. One boiled alive (assuming he didn’t drown in chocolate first), one exploded, one was incinerated along with her father, and another was torn in half by the taffy stretcher after being shrunk. The new remake ruined all that by showing that the kids survived. That just teaches children that they can do whatever you want and get away with it. Kids need to watch movies that tell you if you to dare disobey you get turned into a blueberry. An entire planet was destroyed in Star Wars. I’m a better person because of the horrifying violence in the children’s films I was exposed to. If I had grown up watching the Fine Brothers like kids do now, I would not be here today.

Dark Knight
Dark Knight Rises - Sure there’s some stupid stuff in it but nothing any more stupid than a guy running around dressed as a bat who’s been trained in ninjutsu. Oh, and it’s a movie
Batman Returns
Batman 1989
Batman Begins
Batman 1960s movie

Batman Forever - This one really isn’t much better than Batman and Robin
Batman and Robin

A movie made for “kids” in the 70s, or even just fifteen years ago, is a lot different than what people consider a movie for kids now. When I was a kid(10-13), we all wanted to see movies involving people getting shot and/or stabbed to death, with lots of sex and/or fast vehicles in between. Kids were renting and watching Friday the 13th at sleepovers. Every kid I knew saw Tombstone at some point back in the day. My sister snuck into Scream in theatres when she was just 10 years old. Now it seems like people think kids want to see Jar Jar Binks, or maybe they don’t care what kids want to see and just care about what they think kids should see. I grew up filling my head with rock & roll music and violent movies and I turned out decent enough. Kids need to stop watching things like Norm of the North and go see It Follows.

tl;dr - I can’t imagine movies with an arm being cut off and lying in a pool of blood, along with burned corpses of an innocent aunt and uncle being directed towards children today.
