I have to make the decision to go on a Mormon mission or not at the end of high school. Not fun

Do it, darth. Is it hard? Of course. Was it worth it? More than you’ll ever know… Unless you go. I’m so grateful I did.

Sorry but I don’t believe in any of it at all. I find many of our beliefs sexist and inherently wrong. I have now become agnostic. The stress of the decision to go on a mission is entirely because of the emotional pain and humiliation I will go through my community and my family. My father has been a bishop and just got called as Stake President. It’s not the inner turmoil of whether it’s true, it’s the inner turmoil of what consequences I want. I’m extremely jealous of those born into good hearted agnostic homes with a supportive family who won’t force you to believe something that they think is crucial to if you can live with them forever again.

I’d urge you not to do it. Don’t sell out your principals.

What did you think of it?

Album - 7/10

The non-Simon compositions (the staple Dylan (and copy cat) folk songs of the time) were kind of bland and the only ones that stand out are “He Was My Brother” (written by Paul Kane) and “Peggy-O” (Traditional arr by. Paul Simon). The Simon songs on the other hand, while too few, are amazing. The simple tunes “Little Sparrow” and “Bleaker Street” are two of my favorite songs from the entire Paul Simon catalog. While “Sounds of Silence” is an amazing song as well, I tend to prefer the overdubbed Tom Wilson produced version made with The Wrecking Crew a year later in 1965.

I agree with this for the most part. Until Google became more widespread I didn’t even know that this album existed, and I’ve always been a big Simon and Garfunkel fan.

Fucking hate high school when your schedule is full with AP’s. So much useless shit being shoved into your brain costing you useful time.

Why take APs if you have that attitude? Drop all of them. If you think that you’re wasting time getting college classes out of the way in high school then why bother?

Exactly. But what is it that makes them “useless”? Nearly half my schedule is AP and I think they’re pretty useful classes.

Even if they’re useful purely for college credit.

Which is pretty useful. I came into school with a semester’s worth of AP credits and now I’m graduating a semester early in January and saving thousands of dollars.

Absolutely. I wish that I had been more responsible in high school and gone to college immediately instead of fucking around.

Perhaps you should have said that instead of “quit school.”

Maybe, but that being said if I had the attitude that I held in high school when I went to college I would not have succeeded.

That’s good advice…in fact…

Oh.

I hold education in very high esteem. Bitching about educational opportunities pisses me off and if you don’t want to learn then just quit.

This seems like bad advice.

I have low tolerance for people who don’t appreciate what they have.

Why would anyone have strong opinions about music videos at all? If you don’t like it, stop watching, it’s not like you paid to watch it.

We are talking about a guy who thinks that being 750 lbs. overweight has no correlation with terrible health. His reasoning is clearly faulty.

First, I simply argued against the stupid generalisation you were/are making. Saying that whatever-number-of-kilograms (please use civilised measurement system) is universally unhealthy is downright stupid. My argument was (and still is) that unhealthy factor of any parameter is completely dependant on each variation of the species.

Second, stop making up some random numbers. I never gave any specific numbers as that would be the opposite of my argument.

But since you insist on making up random numbers I just have to point out again how wrong you are. So yes, even 340.194 kg might be okay… for some specific super tall variation.

I suspect that the fifteen foot tall person that would weigh 750 pounds and not be morbidly obese would be rather unhealthy.

I was just going to say he must be a character from a Lewis Carroll book, but then I realized he isn’t nearly endearing enough to qualify.

He also can’t read.

His debauchery must be his way of compensating.

He must have random people in Japan read it to him, and then type out the response. That might explain the frequent broken english 😉
