Sure. Obviously parts like the shootouts on the Death Star aren’t ruined by changes in Mos Eisley, but the spirit of the changes is frustrating. I’d probably put the Jabba scene in the same category in the sense that it’s just another example of Lucasfilm screaming, “look what our computers can do!” at the expense of the film.
The idea that even if you could sit through the HS it could potentially be ahead of any other film is still too much of a leap for me.
It’s just one example of the many changes that are inserted purely to distract from what’s actually happening in the film. The fact that they look terrible doesn’t help either.
I haven’t actually seen TLJ, but I can’t even imagine how jarring a time jump would be given the way TFA ends.
I’m actually going to amend my statement slightly. I don’t know that redoing the Rebellion vs. the Empire was the worst of it, but it was definitely the most blatant. To me, the final act was probably the most disappointing.

I can’t take any ranking seriously if the person claims that the Holiday Special even comes close to being better than any feature film.
I can only judge TFA, but that was my main complaint for the most part. It felt like the OT to me (which I guess is good) but just not as exciting or compelling (which is bad). Completely redoing the Rebellion vs. the Empire was the worst of it.
Trump is without a doubt the least intelligent person to lead a 1st world country in the last 70 years.
To be fair to the greedy companies who don’t care about human life, if developments of cures aren’t profitable they won’t do it so we need to make sure there are incentives.
At this point the greedy companies need to be paid by the government to develop cures and if they refuse then they need to be shut down and the corporate suits jailed.
I’d love the irony of it getting released on 4K.
Most disappointing is the decision to go back to a ragtag rebels versus oppressive empire style of story. It would have been much more interesting for the remnants of the Empire to be the small guerilla group fighting the established New Republic.
I’d say I agree with this too. That’s what I wish they’d have done and I’d throw the third Death Star in with this criticism too.

I feel like you could say the same thing about Empire Strikes Back too. In my opinion, the only time that a story being unnecessary is frustrating is if it isn’t compelling or isn’t handled well, like the prequels. A lot of people said that the prequels didn’t work primarily because the story didn’t need to be told, but any story can be interesting so I don’t really think that it should affect someone’s opinion too much.

You’re not wrong, but that’s mainly because of complete cultural ignorance, and most people are ignorant so it’s no surprise they’ve never heard of him.
For now we’ll just have to take efforts to police our own data. Make sure you never give apps permission to access phone data, always keep the privacy settings as strict as possible, etc. etc. It won’t stop all of this but it will at least protect you from the worst of it.
In recent weeks, I keep hearing politicians and journalists saying this online data protection issue is difficult, or impossible to solve. Is forcing online companies by law to give people a genuine opt out of 3rd party data sharing really that difficult?
I’m sure if Facebook (using them as an example) surveyed all of their users and asked “would you like us to share and/or sell your private data to 3rd parties?” 0% would say yes. Yet 100% of their users have agreed to let Facebook do exactly that because it’s not possible to opt out of it and still use their service.
Simply make it illegal for these companies to share data without the express permission of the user and make it illegal to make that permission conditional on continued use of said service. I don’t know about other countries but in the UK data-protection for customers in the real-world is serious sh*t that companies can get in trouble for. So why is it okay for companies in the online world to act like it’s the wild west with people’s privacy?
It doesn’t even need to be on an international basis (it would be better if it was through), individual countries can legislate on this and the companies will obey the laws in those countries like they do across real-world borders because they want to do business in those countries.

I would genuinely love to see a drama about the trial and execution of the imperial officers. It’ll never happen, but it’s the kind of creativity I’d love to see from the stand-alone films.
Seems like the kind of thing that could genuinely make it into a live action tv show at some point.
Maybe, it depends on the tone they go for.

Regarding ghosts, while I do not understand why there are ghosts here, I do not dispute that they may exist. My thinking is that there isn’t a logical reason why beings ought not to exist on a different plane or dimension or what-have-you that intersects with this one. Or that some part of ourselves can or does exist there or whatever.
Further, I accept the testimony about Christ in the Bible as valid. And the Bible does discuss Christ actually encountering demons and spirits. I don’t know why such beings would be allowed to interact whatsoever with this plane, but I do not dispute that they have and/or may because I validate relevant testimony.
I’ve seen some ghosts and hear them sometimes. I’ve also seen an apparition of the devil once. Granted: I am insane. But I genuinely think that I might have actually seen real spiritual entities. I’m not saying that they were real. I get that they were probably imagined, but I won’t rule out that it was real.
