4K restoration on Star Wars

George didn’t want them to look good next to his crap digital fake world prequels. He probably ordered the 2004 masters to be butchered intentionally out of spite.

I think it was more laziness and apathy than spite. It was done digitally and cheaply, two things he loves. He was working on Revenge of the Sith at the time also and even that mess required him to do a lot of work.

Now the 2004/11 changes? Those were pure spite. Especially the NOOO! in Jedi. That was him getting back for people laughing during the end of Sith.

Should the OOT ever be restored and released I don’t know what I’ll find more exciting. The fact that all the years of begging finally paid off or the stunned and speechless reactions of those who presently insist it will never happen.

The “George’s Vision” fans are will no longer be of any concern to us. I have just received word that Kennedy has announced the OOT personally. The last remnants of The Tragedy of Darth Vader have been swept away.

Ok! I’ve already forgotten where I read this, but the same creature shop that worked on TFA and Rogue One is allegedly working on a practical Jabba puppet ala ROTJ.

Are any pieces of Jabba still around? Like the eyes? Or any plans on how Freeborn constructed the original? A practical Jabba in Han Solo would piss the SE fans off so bad. Love.

A LOOOOOOOOTT more than the BDs in some cases.

http://m.ebay.com/itm/88-1st-Release-Star-Wars-Triple-Pack-Trilogy-on-VHS-Brand-New-Sealed-Rare-/122333890908?hash=item1c7bab095c%3Ag%3A3sIAAOSwnFZXXggS&_trkparms=pageci%3A1ba116b7-fdf7-11e6-aaf6-74dbd1806da2%7Cparentrq%3A867a44af15a0a2a4d67880dfffe9bdc3%7Ciid%3A34

…why?

Lovelikewinter was saying how some of the VHS’ and DVD’s of the OUT are going for more than what the BDs cost. My post was showing how some actually go for a LOT more than what the BDs go for. The set in that link is going for $2K.

I think he means why would anyone pay $2000 for VHS.

Or frankly the GOUT for that matter. You can pick those up for $20 a pop at some used stores.

They don’t last long if they do get them in (at least around here). I saw the 1993 Laserdisc set at Halfprice Books for I think $80 and they were gone the next time I came in.

If I may, it’s not like Disney doesn’t already have a really good reason to give us what we’ve been clamoring for.

Harmy’s version has become very well known over the last several years, and now we have 1080p transfers of actual prints (or is it just ANH?) thanks to Team Negative One.

I’m not sure what it’s going to take to convince Disney of the money they’re losing by not doing a professional remastering themselves and slapping a price tag on it.

If its still up to Lucas, Disney needs to tell us. But, yeah Disney is loosing money on this. There will be more scans of prints cleaned up and remastered to get the original versions. Sites are writing articles on this every few months. Look at completed listings of the 2006 DVDs and VHS releases. They are often going for more than the blu-rays.

I don’t think he’s talking about George. I think he’s referring to a studio big wig. That’s just my two cents on
that. Anyways, the Episode III extra has spoken

My thing with Lucas holding it up is that Disney was able to drop his treatments and have JJ and Kasden do what they wanted.

There is no real reason for Disney to release the OUT, because then they wouldn’t have a carrot to entice people to see Episodes VIII & IX.

There is an entire generation of people under 30 who have never seen the originals or even remember them; so the SE is just how it always was and will be.

I thought going to see the next chapter in the Star Wars Saga after The Force Awakens is enough enticement.

What was George Lucas's worst decision with the Star Wars franchise?

Yeah. I always contend that (beyond behind the scenes choices like who wrote the scripts and directed) the single biggest mistake that was made on the prequels was starting off with kid Anakin, for oh so many reasons.

Hayden was one movie down on creating a character. He had to do in one movie what Hamill had two to achieve. He would have probably failed, but there would have been more substance to the character.

Is it just me or does almost nothing of importance happen in The Phantom Menace? Anakin is found and Palpatine becomes Chancellor. That’s about it.

I went through that site shortly after seeing TFA just out of curiosity, and I was shocked to find out just how much of the movie had been leaked. He posted a pretty detailed description of the Han death scene in February of 2015 and then by May, they had pieced together almost the entire plot with descriptions of all the key scenes.
This gives me hope…

Disney found out who leaked to him and fired that person. He won’t get anything that juicy ever again, and I’m sure people were told not to talk to him at all.

Is Marcia Lucas still alive? There is nothing on her. I’d love for a tell all interview.

I watched the Labyrinth of Evil fan edit and man those movies are not aging well.

The only thing worse than someone quoting a nearly-year-old post in order to argue with it is someone doing something similar but without including the quote for context.

Aww, I love you too!
