To add to my previous post, if others are like me and are not interested in the 2-3GB >versions, then wouldn’t it be difficult to build sufficient demand for the higher bitrate >releases?

This was something I was contemplating last night before falling asleep. Would we all be required to download the “lower tier” versions to build up the popularity?

I don’t think the intent is to force anyone to download and seed a version that they don’t want, but it does make sense that the more of us who support the smaller versions, the more likely it is that we’ll get the bigger ones. My preferred minimum is the 8GB versions (and I grab the 22GB when I see them), but I’m lucky enough to have bandwidth that lets me pull the 2GB versions to “prime the pump.”

I have learned to respect his decision to keep doing this + supporting every single one of his fans . . .

Agreed; it takes him way more time to create these files than it does for me to download and watch them, so I’ll play by his rules. This distribution method is already an improvement for me since I prefer torrents to file sharing sites.

I appreciate your understanding guys. I know most of my fans from tehparadox prefer 8gb and 22-23gb releases, but using torrents is a totally different animal to filehosting, keeping larger releases up is much more difficult unless there is awareness and a willingness to help seed, which is why i’m building from smaller 2-3gb releases and seeing how things go. The 2gb Spider-Man: Homecoming release has been very popular and people have been sticking around to seed so i’ve just uploaded a 9gb release. Hopefully that will continue and i’ll be able to move on to a 23gb release.

kk650's Regraded Wonder Woman (blanket yellow tint removed from blu-ray) (Released)

Not a fan of Wonder Woman I take it? 😉

Patience my young Padawan. I’ve got a number of recent blu-ray sources on my harddisk that are using up all my space. Once I get a number of those done and out of the way, I might have the 100gb + space required for sources and resulting encodes for FOTR, then I can consider taking it on.

In the meantime there’s a great regrade of FOTR already out there.

Sorry about the delay guys. The new V2 22GB regraded release of Blade Runner: The Final Cut is now up on Myspleen.

Tomorrow I will be putting up regraded releases of Spiderman: Homecoming, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales and Wonder Woman. I’ll let everybody that’s sent me a private message know where once I have them up.

oh man, Spiderman: Homecoming and Wonder Woman, we can’t download your latest titles!
no access for new members

btw KK you do your files in 22GB still?

No need to worry, I’ll be putting up all releases of recent films on public torrents so everybody will have access to Spiderman: Homecoming and Wonder Woman.

I will be starting with smaller releases like I did on tehparadox and based on how popular a release is (how well seeded it is in the case of torrents) I will decide whether or not to put up higher bitrate releases. I’ll start with 2-3gb 1080p .mp4 releases and work up to 8gb and then 22gb releases if the interest is there to justify them.

I have just uploaded the regraded release of Wonder Woman. I’ll let everybody that’s sent me a PM know where.

Not until he decides on somewhere new to host future torrents, which unless I’m mistaken is still the plan, MySpleen being a temporary measure.

I hope it will be soon, I can’t send him a PM???

I think its called a private topic here rather than a PM, the private topics tab (looks like two speech bubbles overlapping) should appear on the top right of your browser once you’ve logged in.

Will you still keep uploading your regrades on Spleen or will everything move to the new place?

Catalog releases will be uploaded to Myspleen for now. If the torrents for recent films end up being popular and well seeded, then i’ll slowly start introducing the catalog releases there as well, see if there’s enough interest in catalog releases to keep those up as well.

Apologies for the delay with Blade Runner guys, I keep on encoding it and not being 100% happy with the result. It’s such a good film that I want to get it just right. I’m just about to start my third encode now, fingers crossed third times the charm. Should be able to start uploading to Myspleen tomorrow once the encoding finishes and I mux all the streams together.

Regarding torrents versus file hosting, the plan was always to move to torrents, tehparadox going down just accelerated that process. I have no plans to use file hosting sites from now on. Torrents are incredibly easy to use, there are many guides on how to use them to download stuff out there. If you have worries about the security of torrents or who might be watching, you can protect your anonymity by using a VPN service, they are relatively cheap.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Wonder Woman I have to admit, it was solid but nothing groundbreaking as some in the media would have us believe (Gal Gadot was perfectly cast though IMHO, love the softer more empathetic feminine energy she brings to the DC universe), but I’ve done regrades of Man of Steel and Batman Vs Superman so course i’ll do a regrade of Wonder Woman as well 😃

Sorry about not being around more, work has kept me constantly on the move these past couple of weeks. I’m finally back home with access to my regrading monitor so I can have a look at some of the new blu-ray releases i’ve missed like Wonder Woman and Dead Men Tell No Tales, among others.

Blade Runner 2049 is about to come out in a few days so I’m also planning to release a new updated version of Blade Runner tomorrow, love that film.

I’ve missed regrading these last few weeks, glad to be back 😃

As for my regraded releases of Terminator 1 and Terminator 2, both are currenty up on Myspleen. Sadly Myspleen is closed to new members for now, hopefully that will change at some point. A new blu-ray release of T2 is coming out soon which will fingers crossed be a big improvement over all previous blu-ray releases. I plan to release an updated version of Terminator 1 as well to tie in with that release.

Lastly i’ve decided where i’m going to upload my new modern releases. I will be using torrents from now on, not file hosting sites like before. Everybody that wants to know where, sent me a PM and i’ll let you know.

Info Wanted: 'LOTR - FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING': Green tint removed?

KK, if you’re doing an updated version of TTT and ROTK, do you want those fixed DTS files I mentioned? IMO it’s a huge improvement that makes the disc change points seamless. (I wish I remember who made and posted them to tehparadox so I could tell you who to credit…)

Thanks for the offer but I don’t think it’ll be necessary. This time I plan on including the DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1 audio track for all three films, so in order to maintain a high enough video bitrate for such large film durations I’ll have to split each film in two parts, like they are originally on the extended edition blu-rays. I should be able to use the audio tracks from the blu-rays as is. I’ll create a join between the two parts with mkvmerge so it will jump seemlessly into part 2 for anybody not wanting to take a break between the two parts.

Clearly the only way to settle this issue is for both DrDre and KK650 to do a new regrade of the movie that needs it most, The Fellowship of the Ring BD EE, from scratch. He who removes the green tint and restores this film to its genuine beautiful colour palette will be the true King of The Regrade.

So say we all.

haha I would be up for that! Fellowship of the Ring is my favourite fantasy film of all time and in my top three films of all time.

That was a really tough regrade though, both in terms of colour and image dynamics, wouldn’t want to have to start on that one from scratch.

So say we all. 😉

(Man, that was such a good series, there’s been nothing like it since IMHO)

Agree to disagree DrDre.

I can see the blanket yellow tint on the blu-ray clearly and removed all of it. You can’t see it and that’s fine. I’m not going to try to convince you of something you can’t see for yourself.

This is the last thing i’ll be saying on this matter until you create your own release and we can compare the two releases in motion. Then we can discuss this further if you wish.

DrDre, I have already told you that is what the film looks like with all the blanket yellow tint removed. Remember what I said before about not shooting the messenger? Take up your complaints with Paramount Pictures, the studio that released the blu-ray.

I’m an innocent party here, the purpose of this release is to make the Raiders of the Lost Ark blu-ray look as appealing as possible, not recreate the colour schemes of the WOWOW or 35mm LPP release which are very different to the blu-ray both in terms of colour and image dynamics.

I’m glad you like my latest settings, I got a little carried away with the first V2 screencaps I put up, they looked fine in certain scenes but in others, I could see that it was way too much saturation.

If you’re hinting at needing a Myspleen invite, I wish I could help but I don’t have any more invites to give. Hopefully a kind soul will step in and help you out.
