What versions of the SW saga do you own (OT, PT, preservations, etc)?

THAT is DAMN impressive!!

Thanks. I accually thinned out my collection not too long ago. I had the Definitive & Faces LaserDiscs (which I sold on eBay along with my LD player) I had the OCP Classic Editions, but I gave 'em away cause I didn't really like them. I also had some bootlegged VHS, but no real point keeping them anymore.

Yeah right now I just have the VHS of the OT, the PT dvds and the RIW unaltered set. I'm debating between finally buying one of the SE sets (any difference in the 4-disc gold/silver set and the 3-disc one with the old ANH art?), and replace the cases with 2-disc cases- one for the SE and the other for RIW. Or just buy the new dvds that came out in Sept (I think we have all 3 used at my store), and replace something from there. I had really liked to get a 3-disc box and print up one the covers I found for it. Oh the choices, lol.

MediaPlayerClassic (with Matroska-splitter installed, so usually TS-files work) shows that there's a video-track present, but it's unchecked, and can't be selected. Help!

ANH and ROTJ look fantastic though. Yet, some Endor scenes in ROTJ look like they're upscaled... at least they seem quite blurry. And now I'm pretty sure that the German crawls are upscaled from the German 1997 SEs.

Got pics?

NON-Star Wars Fan Edit and Alternate DVD Covers SHOWCASE

Do you still have the cover shown in this thread, with the anime chick, sword, and arm as opposed to the sub title?

I still have that cover & one more for kill bill. The other cover has the girl from the disc on the spine. I'll put them up later in the week for you.
Here is a Star Wars: Clone War (Episode II.V) ADM edit cover i was working on. Just have to add the spec on the back & call it a day. I should just do one cover at a time.

I hope you finish that soon, that's a kickass cover design I would use! What's with the stuff on the spine under the logo anyhow?

Printing dvd covers help
Time
Ok, went to Staples and got a pack of dvd cover paper (by memorex) that came with some program called ezPressit. The paper's still and has perforations to tear off and inserting for dvd covers. Now even with setting the program, and my printer settings (A4 since somehow it won't switch to paper size), nothing's print right. The covers are either bleeding off to one of the sides, or too wide. I'm really not sure if I'm aligning it right in the program itself, or if I'm putting the paper in wrong. I've already wasted 6 sheets from a pack of 25 and getting really annoyed with having spent $12 on this crap.

Has anyone used the kind of paper I mentioned and have any suggestions, or know of a better program, other then this crappy one or Nero's cover maker?

I attached a short note. I decided there was no benefit in being vitriolic, but I got straight to the point.

Lucasfilm:

Thank you for releasing the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD. I'll not be needing these discs as I have no interest in the revised films.

I hope a full restored, anamorphic release of the original films will be considered. I would certainly be among the first in line to purchase that release. If not, this will probably be my first and last purchase of Star Wars DVDs.

Thank you again,
Alan

LOL. Let us know if you get any sort of response.

What Special Edition changes (if any) did people like?

But hey, at least the scene in VI when Han gropes Leia after she gets shot is still there, so it's not all bad. Way to get her when she's down, Han, way to go.

Well considering they took out "Han shoots first" they needed to show Han was still rough around the edges.

Does this include instruction on how to burn it? I've only recently gotten my DL burner and have not yet burned a dual layer disc, only singles. If no instructions are included, can anyone point me to a good place with them? Thanks!

nero suppoprts Dual Layer now. Just Burn the disc as normal using the "nero burning Rom "feature......

Since when? Also even if Nero supports DL burning I'd still need a DL burner correct? I'm wondering if there's a way to split it to fit on a SL disc, and still retain the quality. I'm not too savvy on how to do alot of this or sure what to do.

I would like to thank you for the Classic versions of the
original trilogy. They are the versions that I pull out when I want to
watch Star Wars, and more importantly for me, the ones I pull out to
show my three children. I want them to grow up in a world where Han
shoots first and fake-looking cgi does not make up for poor dialogue
and storytelling.

Now that's a really good apperication letter if I do say so.

Rifftrax does Phantom Menace...

Having not seen the Phantom Menace one yet (I create DVDs with new audio tracks of the RiffTrax so I don't have to bother playing back two devices at once), but Star Trek V is pure gold.

If I knew how to do that, I would do the same.
