Are there Razzies for fan edits?

Razzies aren’t strong enough for this trash.

“Now it’s all one united Resistance fighting without inner conflict and that’s much more satisfying to watch”

Because we all know nothing ruins a story like conflict.

4K restoration on Star Wars
Time

I’d buy a 4K SE as long as they fixed the color and sound. The lazy mastering on the 2011 discs bothers me far more than the actual changes. I’m not so partisan about my Star Wars preferences that I’d pass up a really good HDR version of the OT simply because it isn’t my preferred cut. And anyway, 4K77 will be out soon enough.

The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS **
Time

I went today for my fifth viewing, and my feelings haven’te really changed since my fourth a couple weeks ago. It sags in some places and bloats in others, but when it works it’s some of the most moving material in the entire franchise, and it usually works. Not as elegantly executed as TFA, but a lot more ambitious. It’s solidly in the 4 spot between TFA and ROTJ in my ranking.

HDCP 2.2 to 1.4 converter?
Time

Hey all,

I recently purchased a 4K TV and UHD Blu-Ray player, and so far I’m very happy with them in terms of picture, but I’ve run into a bit of trouble on the sound end of things. Although my receiver allows 4k passthrough, it’s a couple years old and does not support HDCP 2.2. As a temporary workaround, I’m running the Blu-Ray player directly into the TV and outputting audio to the receiver via the ARC channel, but it’s a messy setup and it doesn’t allow for lossless audio. A cursory glance at Amazon makes it seem as though I can get a converter to solve this issue, but it also looks like some of them can’t handle HDR and none of the listings are very clear about whether or not they can. Can anyone with a little more knowledge and/or experience point me in the direction of a box I can use to make my UHD discs talk to my receiver?

Closest IMAX laser system is the better part of two hours away from me. I’ve been thinking about making the pilgrimage for the last couple weeks but I haven’t found the time yet. I really hope I make it out there while it’s still playing.

There’s one in Reading, don’t know how far your are from there. I’ve never been but I’ve heard it’s a good one, though you have to walk through a Jordan’s Furniture to get to it.

That’s the one I’m talking about. I’m out in Fitchburg, so it’s a ways to go for a movie. Boston’s got one coming in, but I doubt it will be open while TLJ is still playing. Maybe for Solo.

How big was Star Wars in the 70s 80s and 90s

Don’t forget Kenner brought back the toys in 1995, a full two years before the SE’s. Sure, Luke and the gang looked like they’d been hanging out on Eternia, but damn it was good to see Star Wars toys on the shelves again!
We also had the stuffed to the gills soundtrack anthology, and the (not so) Definitive Collection Laserdisc box set in 1993. I don’t think there ever was a time that the OT was out of print on home video in the 80’s or 90’s.

That Kenner line is the earliest I was conscious of Star Wars, I think. They’ve still got a ton of them at the comic shop I go to and I buy one every now and then. My favorite one I’ve got is a Sebastian Shaw Anakin Skywalker figure from '99 (I know it’s a little later, but it’s still the Power of the Force line).

I’ll put this here because it deals with pretty spoiler-y TLJ stuff, but it’s got quite a bit to do with TFA as well. It looks like Pablo Hidalgo went into a little more detail about what’s been carried over from George’s original ST outline. Link:
https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2018/01/pablo-hidalgo-sheds-more-light-on-george-lucass-influence-on-the-sequel-trilogy.html

If this is to be believed, it seems like a lot of the Rey/Kylo/Han/Luke plot points actually come from George. Han’s death at the hands of his son, Luke’s self-imposed exile after that son’s fall, Rey (then still called Kira) having to snap Luke out of his funk . . . a lot of the DNA from Lucas’s ST is still there, just shuffled around a bit.
