What's everybody's favorite Original Trilogy movie - Star Wars, Empire, or Jedi?
Time

Empire.

I love the atypical story structure. It starts up very calmly with a sense of security, followed by the discovery of the rebel base and by the exciting Battle of Hoth. After that the story splits into two very contrasting parts and then perfectly switches between the two; the fast-paced thrilling chase for Millennium Falcon, and the calm training on Dagobah. Finally, it converges into the tense finale at Cloud City with the shocking ending. I think this kind of storyline was quite revolutionary for a mainstream film at the time and this aspect is often overlooked when it comes to Empire. I believe this is one of the best cases of Lucas’ great story-telling ability.

I also love the fact that the storyline invests a lot of time in Empire and its secondary characters. I have always liked the characterisation of imperial officers (Piett, Veers and Ozzel) and the attention given to the imperial fleet and its ships. When I was a kid I was a WW2 naval history enthusiast, therefore Empire was naturally my favourite.

Above all, the acting and actor direction is in my opinion somewhat better than in Star Wars and Jedi.

If I had to pick a close-second, it would be Jedi. Maybe because it wraps up the Empire story really well. But in the end, all three are excellent films, forming a great trilogy.

Most Disappointing / Satisfying Aspect of the Sequel Trilogy?
Time

The most disappointing aspect was that it started with TFA as a soul-less and awful rehash.

The most satisfying aspect was that it started with TFA as a soul-less and awful rehash… and therefore let me know clearly, from the very beginning, that it will be a major train wreck so I could avoid wasting my time on the rest of it.

Yes, very sad if he doesn’t return. It will mean I have lost a good friend.

Apparently Frink is the only one he cares much about. 😕

Hahahahaha.

Point is valid though. Quiting the forum because one person here won’t be the person you want them to be is really childish.

It’s really strange to me.
"I don’t like one kid on the playground, so I refuse to even go outside during recess."
C’mon ender. Don’t do that.

I think many people here completely misjudged Ender’s reason. From what I could understand the reason was not Frink’s obnoxious behaviour per se, but rather mod’s double standard and unreasonable preferential treatment that Frink gets around here, despite his constant obnoxious behaviour and rule breaking. That is also one of the reasons I do not hang around here any more (not the main one but still).

You have been asked to explain your reasons - if you choose not to, or don’t see the point in doing so, then that is on you - do not deflect that onto others.

Sorry, this part you added (edited in) afterwards and was not included in my previous reply.

Anyway, you were the first one asking for explanation. Before you, dahmage and TV’s Frink were just being hostile and rude (pretty sure they broke at least two forum rules).

So I will restate my reasons for you. I think TFA hardly has a storyline. It is basically just a collection of elements they wanted to rehash plus some random elements that have nothing to do with what was supposed to be the main plot objective of the film (that is finding Luke). Just one of many examples: death star is completely irrelevant to the plot objective.

I stated that i reported you, and that i believe you are being an unreasonable troll for CONSTANTLY making the ridiculous statement that TFA is “pure shit”. If you only vented this over the top rating once or twice i would consider it just you venting, but you bring it up practically every time you choose to post on this site. Which really seems like the actions of a Troll. I guess i am the one that needs to change though.

If you think something is wrong you can just report. False accusations and especially name-calling is unnecessary (let alone against forum rules).

I was only expressing my opinion, for which I explained the underlying reasons several times in the past. I do not see the point of explaining the same reasons to the people who are already familiar with them whenever I want to repeat my opinion. Especially since whenever I do restate my reasons behind my opinion I get these kind of responses:

If you don’t see the point of explaining (or repeating) your reasons as to your opinions then I suggest you keep those opinions (which you certainly don’t mind repeating) off this site.

There is no forum rule against restating an opinion without restating the reasons. If the rules are updated to incorporate that, I will gladly abide it. So far I have strictly abided every forum rule.

You are the one making false accusations based on your dysfunctional memory. In a civilised world, one is innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

come on, you clearly edited your post. stop insulting me.

Not for what you implied.
