So, will people stop kvetching about Kylo Ren’s saber now? 😉

So they made an even more stupid thing in attempt to overshadow the previous stuff thing. That is not how it should be done. The strategy should be to not make any stupid things in the first place.

Except the cross guard saber is badass. A type of regal badass.

Only after you split “badass” into “bad” and “ass”, the separate parts can be used to describe that thing.

Maybe we should judge the final product before calling a director a nasty name, and jumping to conclusions based on clickbait web articles?

Kershner and Marquand were under contract too you know.

Edwards probably has way more freedom than Kershner and Marquand had. LFL/Disney seem to operate more like a normal studio that hires writers to come up with ideas and director to come up with a vision. Lucas on the other hand was the main creative director behind the films and basically come up with everything. He hired writers to polish his scripts and directors to implement his vision.

Which movie has an overlong sequence on Tatooine, toyetic alien species, a character introduced in the second half that destroys the evil organization, a climatic space battle centered around destroying a space station coinciding with a land battle, and an idiotic plot twist linking two previously unrelated characters?

Hint: it’s not The Phantom Menace.

I automatically read this to the tune of “The Candy Man”.

Think about it:

Boba Fett= Darth Maul
Speeder Bikes=Podrace
Ewoks=Gungans
Rancor=Naboo sea monsters
Anakin is Leia’s father=Anakin builds C3PO
Death Star II=Droid Control Ship

Plus, the opening shots after opening crawl in both movies are virtually identical

You okay my friend?

Yes I’m okay. I’m just demonstrating how the nosedive of quality in the SW franchise happened so fast and so much sooner than generally believed. I have never seen a film series that went from ten to zero in the space of three years.

You are demonstrating your false illusions.

Have you ever considered that your state might went into a nosedive at some point?

The truth is that SW and ESB are great, while the rest is crap.

There, I fixed it for you.

Any alteration of the truth makes it untruth.

Jedi crashed the franchise less than ten years in. That’s common knowledge.

Common knowledge doesn’t necessary equal to the truth.

Like how people thought Episode I ruined Star Wars, but in reality it was already ruined sixteen years earlier? ROTJ is closer to Howard the Duck than ESB in terms of quality.

No, don’t be silly. The truth is that ROTJ is on the same level as the rest of OT.

Those shot/reverse shot angles of Luke and Ben/Leia sitting down and talking are SO visually engaging.

All the bad dialogue and boring cinematography from the prequels can be traced in a direct line to Jedi.

Your ability to generate pointless opinions is insignificant next to the power of the truth.

Rogue One * Spoilers * Thread

There is one part of R1 that I will most likely dislike. I just hate it when there is a band of random “cool” guys put together to do something. All it usually does is introduce a bunch of boring characters and steals the screen time that could be used to better develop the main character. I would prefer a more personal journey with the focus on the main character.

Why would anyone have strong opinions about music videos at all? If you don’t like it, stop watching, it’s not like you paid to watch it.

We are talking about a guy who thinks that being 750 lbs. overweight has no correlation with terrible health. His reasoning is clearly faulty.

First, I simply argued against the stupid generalisation you were/are making. Saying that whatever-number-of-kilograms (please use civilised measurement system) is universally unhealthy is downright stupid. My argument was (and still is) that unhealthy factor of any parameter is completely dependant on each variation of the species.

Second, stop making up some random numbers. I never gave any specific numbers as that would be the opposite of my argument.

But since you insist on making up random numbers I just have to point out again how wrong you are. So yes, even 340.194 kg might be okay… for some specific super tall variation.

A valid point for sure, but what if the composer of the song had a certain imagery they wanted to project with the song and they use the video to project it?

I’m not implying that most videos are like this, just a thought.

Well in that (rare) case the same exception would apply as for film scenes.

It irks me that this song never got an official music video.

I think music videos are worthless and degrade the experience of music. Music should be listened with ones own imagination (unless it is a film music that composer specifically link to the film scenes). Even when I watch the music video of some song that I have already listened on its own, the video is always completely off because it simply doesn’t fit to what was created by the imagination while experiencing that music.
