Generation X made and raised most of millennials. When an atrocity is made, you naturally blame the perpetrators, not the atrocity.

Not exactly true, Millennials were mostly made and raised by the Baby Boomers. Gen-X is responsible for the Plurals. They overlap like that.

All the things you mentioned that annoy you are traits of late Millennials, which are almost entirely a responsibility of Gen-X. Early Millennials, which are responsibility of Baby Boomers, experienced VCR players and they usually know old films (seen them on TV) as internet was not so common at the time.

Gen-X seems to be incapable of raising up kids properly. That is not only useless, but also harmful to the society.

How very…millennial. Instead of encouraging the taking personal responsibility, he promotes the blaming others for his own generation’s failings. Yes, we all find life easier when we blame our shortcomings on the shortcomings of others. Keep up the prototypical work, imperialscum.

I am an external observer here. I do not belong to either Gen-x nor late Millennials.

I guess there’s the really unlikely possibility they already killed her character in this movie.

I’m guessing that Solo died because Harrison Ford had grown to hate the role and wanted him to die. I didn’t get the impression that Carrie wanted the same… rather, it seemed like she was happy to be reprising her character.

Ford wanted Solo dead for a long time, the freezing of Han in carbonite back in ESB was a middle ground that they came to in order to keep the option open to bring Solo back, which they did. Ford wanted Solo dead by the end of ESB.

I never got that impression from the original making of ESB book. Ford did not have a contract for a third film at the time. He wasn’t sure he wanted to come back at that point. It was even suggested that Yoda’s line “there is another” was partially a cover all bases strategy in the wake of the serious car crash Mark Hamill suffered between SW and ESB.

I never heard dead Solo talk from Harrison until Jedi.

As it is stated by Lucas in Empire of Dreams, after Star Wars Ford did not want to sign the contract for two more films like the rest of the cast. I think there is a common false idea among fans that Ford wanted Solo to be killed in the Jedi for the “sake of the story”. Ford simply did not want to be in Jedi at all and his idea was probably to kill Solo in way he would not be needed.

Now that I think about it, the whole carbon freezing scene might been just a convenient plot device for Lucas to be safe in case Ford refused to be in Jedi. That way he could easily either make Solo dead or “rescue him” in the last film.

I’m still amazed how Jedi Outcast managed to avoid pretty much any PT influence/reference despite being released in 2002. It has an uncharacteristic OT-only feel too it despite the time it was made. (I still really enjoy Jedi Academy though.)

Yes, that is pretty strange and I am happy they stuck to OT feel in JK2. It is one of the best EU material. JKA had some (mostly positive) PT influence (double-bladed lightsabers, etc.), however it retained overall OT feel. I too enjoy JKA a lot.

I would probably start with Knights of The Old Republic. Gameplay is dated but the story and characters are ESB level. This will tie into the Darth Bane trilogy which ties into the Darth Plagueis novel and that ties into the Labyrinth of Evil and the PT novelizations.

You could play KOTOR II, read the Revan novel or even play SWTOR but it’s not needed for the story at large.

I do actually own a digital copy of both KOTOR games, and I will definitely play them some time in the future when I have more time, as well as access to a better computer. However, I’m currently only looking for pre-PT stories.

KOTOR and SWTOR are technically pre-PT as they happen way before PT. I think KOTOR 1 is a must-do. It is probably the best EU thing ever made. SWTOR is great a well (original 8 stories), however it takes a lot of time.

What I love about SWTOR is that you can experience a story as an Imperial/Sith character from the Imperial/Sith perspective. The game also blurs the usually good-evil distinction between the two sides, which makes things more natural and interesting.

I have played all of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games, but I’m curious if anyone would recommend any other games from the 90’s for their stories? I do however get the impression that the Dark Forces series probably were the most plot-based SW games from that time.

Dark Forces/Jedi Knight games are pretty much the best thing ever made for that era.

I have to say I think it was a bad idea locking the politics thread. It punishes everyone for the acts of a few.

On another I am now seriously wondering if Darth ID is paying something to mods. I mean, can anyone think one, just one good reason to keep him around?

Until they add “no rustling warbs feathers” to the rules I don’t see why you think he should be banned.

HE’S A TROLL!!!

Maybe. But so is your friend Frink and yet you defend him.

I’m sorry to see you still are making the same post over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Well the truth is constant, my friend.

Anyway, his “nope” without arguments reply deserved the exact response it got.
