I hate it when I go take a dump on a casual western toilet and the "waste product" is kind of soft. It is impossible to clean it properly with a toilet paper. One thing I absolutely love about Japan are their washlet toilet seats. You may laugh about them but that is just because you are completely unaware how useful they are.

I feel like in 2013 there really ought to be a better way to clean up after having a bowel movement. I mean, we wash our hands with soap and water to remove invisible germs, we have hand sanitizer bottles waiting in nearly every doorway, but we can't be bothered to come up with better methods for cleaning fresh poop off of our bodies beyond wiping at ourselves blindly with a dry square (or wad of squares).

Americans almost universally make fun of bidets. Pfft, how does that happen? The US is a country of excess and we love stupid things we don't really need (electric can openers, cable television) and somehow we've never adopted the bidet when it would actually be a nice fixture to have around.

Those washlet toilets are nifty, but I always cringe thinking about how dirty that nozzle must be down there... but having one in your own home would be great.

Exactly!

Well you don't find them everywhere in Japan. There is rarely one in public toilets (such as train stations). Though some larger supermarkets have them. I feel like anywhere else in the world they would get dirty and broken very quickly. But Japanese are much more discipled and clean so there really isn't a problem. You can find them at most work places. People have them at home too. In Europe (at least where I am from) we usually have separate bidet at home toilet which takes a lot of space. I guess in Japan they went with washlet seats instead because it takes less space.

As for nozzle, it actually sprays from a considerable angle so I don't think it gets that dirty. And usually the thing is cleaned regularly.

Oh, come on! I love Star Wars a huge amount but "broad" and "deep" it is not. It's very simple storytelling done in a very good way.

Well I won't discuss "deep" because that is entirely up to opinion. But as for "broad", it is certainly is. OT deals with human nature, war, mythology, romance, growing up, militarism, politics, crime, etc. There is pretty much everything from the modern and past world projected through a fairytale into a galaxy far far away.

we just didn't see it happen.

If we don't see it than it didn't happen, as simple as that.

Ah, the George Lucas school of thought!  You must love all the prequel ship landing and taking off scenes.

The "equivalent" you proposed is completely invalid, and quite dumb if I may add. In ESB we already have a scene especially designed to show the audience Yoda's explanation of the Force to Luke. So the scene is already there. Why on Earth would you assume Yoda had another but completely different explanation of the same thing off-screen?

Can't really call it The Clone Wars if there aren't any clones in it. ;)

You can. The name of the war could have a reference to anything. For example, it could be some cloning incident which triggered it. That is how I imagined it when I first watched ANH anyway.

You have a conflict called "Banana Wars" and it doesn't mean bananas were fighting it...

Clone Wars was what the prequels should have been. It had everything the prequels were lacking. Good stories, good actors and likeable characters. And

I kind of agree on that. But unfortunately they were full of clone troopers and other crap from the prequels. Yes, I hate clone troopers and I got sick of it. I think they are boring.

Now a few words about this new guy with the lightsabre. I hate it. Are they really that unoriginal and incompetent so they can't think of something else? And it pissed me off (as the same crap in Force Unleashed) when they say "to hunt down the remaining Jedi". Isn't that Vader's primary job ffs?

I don't enjoy Star Trek. It is a soulless science-fiction.
I'm sorry to hear that. There are some misses in the 700+ hours, but it's far from soulless.

Well I gave it a try at least 2 times by now. It just isn't Star Wars (which is broad and deep and very human at the same time).

Technically, Coruscant was there before PT.

Well I don't mind seeing some stuff introduced in the prequels (planets, double-bladed lightsabre etc.) but I don't want to see crap like "midichlorians" or "chosen one" and certainly don't want to see any characters from the prequels (for example using Hayden as Anakin's ghost is the stupidest thing I can think of atm).

The quality of new products was dying, not the popularity of old ones.

I hate to preach about this but "quality" when it comes to film is completely subjective. You and me will say OT has better quality than the prequels, while some prequels fan boys will say the opposite. Who is wrong? No one.

Well you said "Star Wars was either dead" which could not be true exactly because of the popularity of old ones.

I think we can all agree that Star Wars was either dead or dying

Depends in what sense. Star Wars has been more or less alive for almost 40 years. And it is not just about older fans keeping it up. OT really is something great and it has the ability to easily generate new fans (with no advertisement). There are numerous of younger people who hadn't even been born when the trilogy was released (myself included) and later became fans. And I am not talking about the prequels here (I dislike them), I am talking about OT.

I agree that Disney's acquisition makes a huge "advertisement" for Star Wars in general and more rapidly exposes it to the new generations (as the prequels did in that sense).

But as I said, either way, OT would not die off easily. It is still hard to miss it. If one just goes to IMDb, it is practically pushed into one's face (since all 3 are in top 100 all-time list).

The short:

Rise of the Jedi and Return of the Sith were titles given by Lucas to Disney for consideration.

So IF Latino Review's story is truthful (big IF), then this is potentially very spoilerish of the ideas that George has "downloaded" to JJ Abrams, and does not give me much faith in where this series is headed. If Lucas really has so little inkling of the possibilities of this franchise that he can only think that bringing back the Sith after they were finally destroyed is a good idea, then JJ might as well give up right now. Either that or ignore Lucas's suggestions and do his own thing.

I wouldn't mind having Sith again. First, because I really don't fall for the "chosen one" crap from the prequels. One can't permanently destroy the Sith. There can always be some force user who can proclaim himself a Sith.

Secondly, because 30 years after battle of Endor seems like an extremely boring period. If the story was set in period immediately after battle of Endor (imo by far the most interesting era) then the possibilities for villains would be great (imperial remnant officers, criminals trying to benefit from gradual collapse of Empire etc.). But unfortunately it is not.
